Trollers pwn in duels, blasters/defenders in team pvp imo
-
I'd say the spiney should level quicker. Herding+AoEs make warburg grinding really quick till 40, and after 40 turret farming in RV

and dark, with which of ur many chars ur gonna join with?
[/ QUOTE ]
Errm haven't tried cage map yet, so can I say later on? Prolly spines/sr or fire/ff tho -
So just to get some knowledge from it, how does dmg res scale in /sr? what's ur dmg res at, let's say, 25% health left?
-
[ QUOTE ]
I thought the reason to take the passives was that, with all 3, you get up to 60%(ish, iirc) damage resistance as ur health drops.
[/ QUOTE ]
How sure are you of those figures tho? -
Saying that passives give 15-20% defense is, at least, a confusing way to explain it. If passives give 15-20%, defense cap is not 45%, but 135%.
Yes, those that have played an /SR know each toggle/passive affect to a certain type of attacks, but hey, saying that without passives you'll miss 15-20% defense, one might think that it's 15-20% each.
And well, I'm not playing your game on giving credit to other players, just tried to explain something I didn't find clear enough -
Then that's 3 powers to get +5% def to all attacks :P
-
Oh well, guess u can always use temps, or eat 30 insps, but that's not way
-
15-20% passives? its 5% in my builder
... and dmg res from passives is minimal so... yeah they are nice (i got all toggles and passives on my sr but AoE defense myself), but i would never pick them before aid self tbh
-
Try and run thru 6 MMs and u will see how getting stuck in base is really easy

(oh and the fact that dominators would pwn hami silly)
[/ QUOTE ]
They would?
[/ QUOTE ]
Trollers are the key to pwn hami in coh, so i guess domis with next domination enhancement should get her easily

I'm not sure /thermal is the way to go for villain support, those shields are res based yes? And heroes have a good bit of unresistable damage going around. I'm starting to think /ice might be better for villain support seeing as the shields are def based. Its also a bit more flexible having a few debuffs, a while back I toyed around with the idea of an AR/ice team, could be horrible to fight against. Still like my dark/thermal though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Melt armor is prolly one of the best debuffs i've seen in game. When i said thermal i could name any other support toon, but well thermal was the first option that came to my mind due to its heals, -def and -recovery (healer/debuffer more than healer/buffer) -

A tank focused on attacking seems to me as useful to a team as a blaster focused on healing. Sure it's a nice bonus, but not the way to take the best of the AT imo
[/ QUOTE ]Blasters don't have a secondary with 8 healing powers though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, then as an empath focused on blasting
[/ QUOTE ]A good empath in a good team only needs to apply fort, AB and RA's when they're up, as well as few heals and CM's here and there, there's a lot free time there which can be used to focus on blasting
[/ QUOTE ]
If empath has so much free time, it's not needed, he will just leech the rest of the team's xp
[/ QUOTE ]He will leech, if he's not using his secondary
[/ QUOTE ]
An empath focusing on healing/buffing would be leeching in your opinion? Well, I don't agree there
[/ QUOTE ]But you said so yourself, in the post I quoted
[/ QUOTE ]
I said an empath with lots of free time, not an empath not using blasts
[/ QUOTE ]And I said that if that empath was using his blasts, he wouldn't just be standing around doing nothing
[/ QUOTE ]
Yet he wouldn't be adding much to the team -
If the team needs some blasting get a blaster, an empath main function in team imo is healing/buffing. Empath's damage is smaller than any other AT, and I would really bi [censored] if I was playing a ddealer and died just to notice the empath was blasting away

Much of that happens because there are far more heroes playing support toons than villains. The real difference imo is not as much PPPs as that. An empath really makes the difference in teams, even in duos as someone said. I dont really see many thermals in pvp tho, although they are good enough to solo RV avs with a heavy with ease

lets rememerb all the pvp came with villains

PvP came with i4 actually, which is two issues before cov -

True, mind slipped there: not 2 years and a half, but 1 year and a half.

That's just like saying there's no content in Mario, all you do is jump, there's no content in Doom, all you do is shoot things
[/ QUOTE ]
Those games are not MMO's, meaning that you buy the game and don't have to pay monthly wages for them, and thus you don't expect them to get new content once in a while. I wouldn't play Doom till i finished it 8 times, but I would if it was a good MMO.
[ QUOTE ]
While CoV needs more content
[/ QUOTE ]
Last new content added to CoH was Croatoa iirc, and that was 2 years and a half ago, which doesn't say much of any MMO that is not admitted to be dead. CoV was just released one year ago, and all the new content since has been directed to it (one of the reasons why CoX has lost most of its customers imo)
[ QUOTE ]
there's so many content in CoH now most players won't see the half of it. Keep in mind most players haven't got a 50 (IIRC). Between the Hollows, Striga, Croatoa, Faultline soon, PVP missions, normal missions and all the TFs/trials, it should take you from 2 to 4-5 lvl 50 characters to do everything, assuming you don't solo only on Heroic and die on purpose to get debt. I've heard the consensus seems to be 200h per 50, 400h of game content is pretty big if you ask me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know what the average is, admittedly, but wish I had seen any new content after my first 50. Maybe the fact that I have over 2200 hrs just with it may do that more difficult, but most of that time has been spent after the big five-o so...
[ QUOTE ]
Now if you don't like the content... there's not much Cryptic can do about it... because it's not a lack of content, it's because you don't like the content we have.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't agree with that. I like the content in the game myself, but as many others have pointed out, I consider it to be pretty limited, specially after 50 -
