  1. Happy about this, a little less happy that it's shoving Parks & Rec out of its timeslot. They're both great shows and should remain on the lineup at once. If NBC has to cut any shows and if they knew what was good for them (SPOILER ALERT! they don't) they'd let The Office and 30 Rock go, both shows that are still decent but have definitely run their respective courses.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was criticizing you, just wanted to make sure you knew that they appear elsewhere in the game if you happen to see them.

I actually did see the article on the wiki before making my post, but I assumed it was made by someone else who saw your post.

Come to think of it, I think they may not have always been called Board Transit. Back in the day, it used to be Board Train, or Board Ferry redside, but at some point (want to say after they merged the ferry/train lines) they changed it, hence the current confusion.

    Board Transit

By the way, Board Transit missions are not new to the Valentine's Day event, they've been in the game for ages (possibly since the beginning, not sure about that though). I would guess that the CTA doesn't count because I don't think there are any such missions in Praetoria.
  5. Not only are the sound effects underwhelming, they're timed very poorly with the animations.
  6. If I had to guess, I'd say it was updating automatically from a list of enemy groups currently existing in the game.
  7. Ah, so you've confirmed that you are not actually reading my posts.

    Yeah I'm done with you.

The odds of unlocking the Elemental Order costume set with tickets or Brainstorms is precisely zero so I don't know what on earth you're going on about.

The random draws in the packs are no different than spending AE tickets to get random draws, or the random draws we get when we convert Brainstorms.

Random rewards have been an established feature in this game for years.
Would it kill you to at least read my posts?

So you see people KNOW what they are buying they just don't know what they will get when they open the packs...you are buying the possibility..the randomness..the surprise.
Yeah, and I'm not okay with "buying randomness". (In before "then don't buy them".) I have no intention of buying them, and if there were no exclusive items to the packs I'd be content to ignore them entirely, but it still bothers me that they're trying to draw people into buying them with this sort of thing. It's almost as if they know people wouldn't bother with them if there was nothing locked behind them.

If that's true then that's totally messed up, but I'd swear I not only saw a dscription on how the packs worked somewhere but I also saw player compiled lists of what they got from the packs here on the open forums. I believe I also saw that the packs were being sold for 80 points each on my market interface, but maybe that's a bug.
You know exactly what I mean so please try to stop obfuscating if at all possible.

A person who wants the Elemental Order costume set (and is not interested in any other items available in the packs, or at least not the consumables) needs to buy X Super Packs costing $Y each in order to obtain the full set, for an effective total of $Z. Each pack contains [A,B,C,D,E]. Y is known. X and Z are not. [A,B,C,D,E] have known ranges, but the combination present in a given pack is not known. That's too many unknowns for me.

Is that clearer for you, or should I break it down into monosyllabic grunts?

The difference is that when you bought those you knew what you were getting and you knew how much it cost. Not the case anymore.
  13. Would need a fairly severe cooldown in order to keep it from being exploited like a [REDACTED], but actually kind of a neat idea. The Incarnate Trials actually already operate like this since you still get an extra Astral Merit by completing one of the challenge tasks, regardless of whether or not you already have the badge.

I can't understand what kind of jerk would refuse to do either of the DFB challenges for just one person on the team though, it's not like they take any meaningful effort.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's simply disabled, since Patrol XP isn't consumed during Double XP Weekends.

    Except for the tutorial.

The contest the devs said they'll be holding is interesting, but it makes me wonder what happens to the winning character. Certainly they can't allow the winner to keep playing that character.

Of course, it all makes sense now! The only way to win a war in winter against the Russians is to fight them from space.
  18. That would require Rick Moranis to come out of acting retirement. He retired in 1997. Good luck.

Plenty of us did, plenty of us don't feel like doing it anymore. This may shock you but my preferences actually have changed in the past 10-20 years.

That said, I fully support this week's Paragon Market "offerings", since it's yet another thing I have no interest in using my stipend on (and I'm sure not gonna buy points for them).

Yes, all non-consumables (costume pieces, ATIOs too I believe?) are removed from your drop pool when you get them.

Man, DarkGob for the lose, that was pretty blatantly obvious.
  21. Am I missing something or are rares the most common? (Minus the Black Wolf.)

Weren't they occasionally shown hovering in Classic Who?

The Borg assimilate technology as well as flesh, and they're perfectly capable of penetrating armor in order to do it. (Daleks might be another matter since they're heavily fortified with force shields as well as dalekanium armor. We will adapt.)
