Derp. Was thinking of my corruptor.
But yeah. Soul vs fire. -
I am going to keep this short and simple and try to keep from straining your eyes with a wall of text.
I am very adaptable when it comes to playstyle, Which of these epic pools would work best with dark/dark From an absolute mix/max standpoint, Also for the sake of arguement, Let's say soul drain is near perma, or at the very least, Usually has about 7-10 stacks on it. How would these compete with fire? -
I use a modified version of iggy's kat/will scrapper intended for PVE, And i have to say, That in PVE i basically CANT die unless i am fighting something with the ability to ignore defense or something with autohit debuffs that wreck everything i do (( Watchers, Fortunata mistresses/ Tyrantula queen/mistresses)) I literally went AFK in a full spawn of +2 council and came back at 75% health which regenerating instantly considering the spawn size.
PVP...I tend to ignore it, But sometimes a friend will ask to fight and she's the character i generally pick, I usually stalemate or defeat my pals, They can't really kill me, Though masterminds and anything/poison generally DESTROY me if any of the poison buffs hit ( Got two envenom's in a row on me once, Basically already lost.)
Really, I play regeneration too, i had a MA/REGEN, a BS/regen and a STJ/regen and i always ended up taking the enchancements they had and sending them to another toon. The STJ's enchancements CERTAINLY benefitted the WP more.
I'd give you the build, but i would rather you ask Iggy Kamikaze, He's the mastermind behind this insane character and his builds seem highly adjustable (To a point, of course.) -
Quote:Sorry, But this excuse is no longer valid. If they were worried about balance then the mastermind AT is the least of their problems. You also seem to be forgetting the times when the pets would stay at range, While annoying, a simple goto command fixed this.Problem with adding it for MM's is, to them, the 'run into melee' bug isn't actually a bug and is more 'balance'.
If we could lock our pets in place to fire at will... Think about how OP'd that'd turn Bots into, or Thugs...
I strongly believe they haven't fixed it yet, not because they don't know how, but rather because they don't want to. -
Due to the recent patch, im probably going to sell the luck of the gamblers in shadowfall and end up putting some recharge IOS in fade to make it close to perma
And a further note, most of the builds except the latest one accounted for the buffs, dark/dark is ungodly tight o.o -
My new build, A few notes
Immobolize is slotted with gravitational anchor due to the fact that i can chain the hold and fireblast relatively easily, and it makes a good setup for containment.
i am still unsure about umbra and the shade's slotting, they are Perma however.
There are 5 slots in posi in fireball and full thunderstrike in fire blast. I will probably end up getting a set of apocalypse and eventually put it in the ST immobilize, but right now i'm broke. Also, i would like to know if i should change the slotting of any of my secondaries, i will probably keep the slotting of the primaries as they just "Seem" right to me.

Quote:Love the advice, I sent you a PM by the way, but i just wanted to know why you did not have living shadows o.oHere's the direction I took my dark/time. I would call my single target damage pretty excellent and most of it comes from dark/ and from /fire so I think it's fairly comparable. Now, several things:
Pull the will of the controller proc out of living shadows and replace it with cloud senses. Yes, the cloud senses proc is hard to get on the market, but you can just buy it with merits if you need to. Having done that, for goodness sake put another slot into possess and another slot into wherever you put your will of the controller set. For two slots you're passing on 10% ranged defense. Not a good trade! Incidentally, I strongly agree with others who say that -tohit and fearsome stare go together like Dr. Pepper and trout. Shadow field is a great place for will of the controller in its entirety and if you wanted to keep lockdown you could find a way to slot dark grasp more.
I would drop one of the slots from tar patch. Well actually I'd drop two, but if you want to keep two recharge in it then lose the slow but add an impeded swiftness proc.
Red fortune and thunderstrike are questionable in a purpled build. Thunderstrike makes some sense if you want the ranged defense, but if you're only five slotting red fortune just drop it entirely and slot shadow fall with three or four lucks of the gambler. I would also consider saving a couple slots on umbra beast: he is a good source of damage, but I found that in the end the extra slot for the soulbound proc didn't seem quite as competitive as more damage procs in spammables.
So, on to single target damage. Yes, you want to have shadowy binds and fire blast. Depending on the circumstance, I either alternate those two or throw in dark grasp as well. Even on a monster recharge build SB-FB-repeat is gappy but I feel like when I don't need the hold it seems to do slightly better DPS. Haunt is theoretically part of the ST chain yet I feel like I get better results when I instruct them to kill one boss and I focus on another boss, in terms of spawn clearing. Against a single hard target when you can bring all of it to bear, though, it definitely gets pretty hurty.
This is all, like, my opinion, man, but it would drive me nuts not to have at least two reliable, single target "blast" type powers and the nice thing about shadowy binds is that it does a lot more than just damage. -
My problem with the soulbound proc in haunt is that, If the attack triggers, It would get maybe, one boosted melee attack if lucky. Due to the recharge on the melee attack and the fact that the only other power it has is a fear, i put the soulbound in my Umbral beast, Because he actually seems to get a fair use out of the power.

Quote:I like this guy >_>I think you're trying to play a game that no longer exists. Hard controls become less and less relevant the deeper you get into the game compared to soft controls because hard controls never really get any better (you can't increase Mag very effectively) while soft controls get a lot better (you go from "I'm slightly harder to hit" to "the targets have a rock bottom chance to hit").
Now, there's nothing wrong with playing the game however you have fun. But even as you're doing so, you should try to recognize that you're making a personal choice based on subjective concerns rather the most potent choice based on objective ones.
City of is basically a beat em up at this point. Which is not a bad thing at all. -

Sorry for the large image and double post, but the build is built around the upcoming buffs to fade and soul absorbtion.

Heya, As a dark/dark Aff Controller, i pretty much destroy everything in AOE, but i lack any solid damage outside of pets and fire ball/blast spamming,
Am i better off sticking to this or would replacing my single target hold (Which i can only afford to keep a single slot in) with the immobilize be worth it?
Oh, and once mids is updated i am probably going to make a dark/dark guide, So i need all the info i can get for different play-styles ya? -

Quote:You skipped three of the best powers in my opinion. Fearsome Stare is an essential control power - a great Alpha attack that neutralizes a full group while debuffing their To-Hit. Worry about Containment later after the entire group is controlled.
Possess? A Deceive/Confuse clone with a better animation that draws NO AGGRO so you can take foes out of the fight before it begins. Possess is wonderful for that straggler who is outside of your AoEs. My Illusion/Rad guide discusses all the great uses of Deceive, and that would apply to Possess, too.
And you skipped Haunt? A couple of pets who do pretty good damage and can be a great aggro puller?
I would consider these three powers to be staples of the Dark Control set.
Sorry for the double post, But lets also not forget that, since possess has a quick animation, you can actually see yourself using it seriously in a combat situation without losing too much DPA -
Dont post the best maps and the times it took please. Thats like going to the market forums and saying "THIS IS THE BEST" ((Everyone would buy it, making the "Best" item, now worthless

Update: Just went to a mission where there was an EB surrounded by 3 ravagers, I popped 3 reds and buildup and went wild, I kill each one in under 10 seconds per ravager. The EB dropped relatively fast.
I gotta go soon, I'll post my build tomarrow. -
Screw you guys, I want statesman/Reichsman's Omega AOE lightning judgement, I don't care if it's damage sucks.
It's friggin' cool D: -
Quote:With castle and all the unwanted devs gone..still miss BAB...but anywayIn complete agreement with you on this. They're able to set it in all of two seconds... maybe less. I know that an engineer can be signaled I am about by one tick of my damage aura on my Dark Scrapper, and get it out before the next hits (or maybe there is a miss in there)... the time is not long, whatever it is. The requirement to be on the ground is silly as well, but I'd at least take a change to the activation time.
Its suicidal need (along with every pet now) to get into melee makes it even worse. That's an arguably even bigger issue that the devs have to fix: some pets are made for melee, others are not. Gun Drone, by definition, should not want to get up close. Why this obvious issue with pet AI has been allowed to continue baffles me, especially since people now have more pets!
This devteam is making our game better and better even after the F2P hit, it's safe to assume that if someone makes a brand new petition thread (not necro an old one) it'll get attention -
Ninja/ninja stalker reporting in!
I can happily say that my stalker was able to take down enemies that were +4 in short notice and I only have the uncommon (left) agility alpha!
Minions would lose 99% total health from a level 3 AS ( I charge it one the guy with less health then hit the strongest one after switching targets)
Im cheerfully soloing missions spawned for +1 x8 astoria mobs. So I can honestly say VICTORY for stalkers. Atleast ninja/ninja.
It actually gets to the point that I removed my hide proc, For example, AS animates faster/as fast as swipe from claws/widows. And since ninja blade is really quick overall, focus is really easy and I might say that if I find a way to chain gc>sd>AS that I could do better DPA then if I just used AS by itself. Granted, of course many situations call for the hidden AS
Sorry, typing on iPod, grammar sucks and I can't provide a build, I'll try to get it up before 9:00pm central time tomorrow -
Heya, My dark/shield is awesome, and im wondering if im doing it right
I chain midnight>smite>siphon>smite and for aoe i have fireball>Dark consumption> Charge
(i start every fight with soul drain)
If i'm surrounded by like, 20 rikti (2 spawns) i usually land midnight grasp for 720 +the dot, Is that good? Life siphon will usually hit for 550
Perma hasten, i have the purple spiritual alpha (Working on upgrading to agility)
Sorry if the format of this sucks, i'm in a rush right now and wanted to post this so that i might get answers when i return from a quick work trip -
How do you deal with mezzers?
