The original question is regarding one's ability to TEAM WITH those who have switched sides, not one's ability to switch sides oneself. I cannot imagine that the answer to that question would be 'no.'

Avatea: If you want to eliminate some of the technical difficulties, you can just relax some of the rules. You could announce, for example,
(a) A solution that has exactly X correct words from the stated category, whether or not they are the originally intended X words (or in the location intended), will be deemed correct.
(b) No words in the list will be less than five letters long.
This would have given the same winning solution this week, while eliminating difficulties with duplicate correct words. -
Thanks, Avatea! I'm sure you'll get the kinks worked out!
ZM: Please remember it's supposed to be fun!
If you can avoid having duplicate entries of the correct words, that'd be great. With 3 known sets of duplicates in this one, that makes eight possible solutions with the 10 correct words, of which only one would be valid.
I enjoyed the near-'bonesnap's. I was like, "Bonesnap!" No! Darn! That's 'Boensnap'! -
Just a request for clarification:
When you say we're looking for the right ten, we also should not include any extras or duplicates?
So my entry was incorrect even though it included the correct 10 for the following reasons:
(1) it included 'ruin' as an 11th
(2) 'soaring' was found in a different place than winning response
(3) it included both incidents of 'kismet'
(4) it included both incidents of 'aegis'
I look forward to playing again next week!
Congrats, Graevity! -

It's possible, I suppose, that the timer-counting-up zone is the same one we loaded into. I didn't notice specifically whether the seconds were ticking up or down. While I know that the 2nd time we went in it was higher than the 1st time, they could just be two different instances.
But if it was the same instance, then that would explain why we kept getting kicked out -- perhaps it had crossed its weird threshold whereon it should be kicking us out, and so even though the timer was above 0, since it had set its bit, it didn't care anymore. -
Today in Cap Au Diable on Virtue, we defeated the Winter Lord.
The Big Present appeared. No Timer.
We entered. Inside, the timer was around 11:00.
My entire team (and as far as I know, everyone else) was kicked out of the zone immediately upon entering. (I have no idea if this is involved, but we had MMs with pets out in Cap who zoned with us.)
We went back to Cap. Entered again. Now the timer was around 13:56. We were kicked out again. Another teammate reported that the present disappeared, but I didn't see that myself.
I filed a bug report.
We began opening presents in Cap. After a while, the Winter Lord spawned in Cap again.
The Big Present appeared. Again with no timer.
We entered. We were kicked out. I stopped trying altogether. -

I find the hip sway *appears* more pronounced on certain of my male-shaped characters than others. Wearing one of the short robes makes him look like he's wearing heels or purposefully swaying his hips (because the robe flounces out a bit below the belt, enhancing his hips). Wearing a short jacket (even just the 'dress shirt' jacket) diminishes the *appearance* of the hip sway substantially. Wearing a cape even more so (since I can't see his rear at all).
From the front, it's much less obvious on any of the characters, though if I look closely, I can still see that hip action.
I really appreciate the way that the avatar puts his foot down and then it stays in one spot until he picks it up again. It took a while in LOTRO for them to get the walking animation correct so that it didn't appear that my hobbits were walking on ice. Good job!
This is one of those features that I've been waiting years for and have said I'd happily pay the $10 booster pack fee for! And now we appear to be getting it for free. That's so awesome. Thank you, BABs. I have so many more characters now that I can create that I couldn't before because I couldn't justify them running/flying/teleporting/hopping everywhere they went. Now that a character can actually WALK into a room. . . yay!
Obviously /em walkposes would be even more superior, but I don't expect that to happen. I shall be grateful with what I have. -
It just happened to us twice as we started the Manticore TF in Brickstown. Since we hadn't done anything yet, we quit and reformed. The first two times, we got a spot on the sidewalk outside the AE building as our 'door.' The third time, it finally gave us another door.

Quote:I would like to request the snowy Croatoa map for the Rescue Baby New Year winter event missions. Please keep try to keep suggestions focused on maps that are currently in the game but not in Architect.
I would also like the sea area + cargo ship outfitted with a Longbow base inside as featured in Alan Desslock's mission "Take Out Longbow base of operations and retrieve list" where you battle the Back Alley Brawler.
Also, of course, any map featuring the Shadow Shard such as in Technician Naylor's mission "Secure Longbow base in an alternate dimension"
Thank you, and welcome, Dr. Aeon! -
Yeah, your post there was, of course, the first thing I tried when I got the card and had the problems, Bill. Now, I may have not followed the instructions correctly, but when I did all that, my slow-field in my base was invisible instead of looking wavy and slightly watery. So I fiddled more and got what I have, which is perfect except for having to, as I said, type /fsaa 2 every time I start up the game.
-
That's my primary concern with ATI as well. My old ATI card that I purchased 3-4 years ago worked great with CoH. Unfortunately, when its fan decided to start running at top speed constantly last December, I upgraded. Since that card was so nice, I got another ATI. Little did I know that it would work less well with CoH than the older model. So now I have to type in /fsaa 2 whenever I spot water so that I don't see my character's gigantic reflection upside-down spread across the river/sewer/slow-field-in-the-base (because whatever set of settings I have, I do manage to have watery-appearance on the slow-field AND decent water, but HAVE to manually re-set the fsaa to 2 every time I start the game because it won't save the setting.

So I should blame Branch 20 for my power slide no longer sliding me since yesterday's patch hit live. Now I just run around with pink glowy feet. Except sometimes, like if I go backwards, stop, and then forwards again, but sometimes even then.

And tonight's Incognitus Night if there are any solo heroes who'd enjoy that theme. Freedom's Arch Mage convenes the meeting in the Steel Canyon library of the Midnighter Club. You don't have to be in Incognitus (or even in the Paragon Universe) to attend this event! There's a bit of RP in the library, and then he usually takes the team(s) out on a mission or three to counter some magical threat to our very existence!
-
We've just acquired our 7th and 8th players. We're meeting on Monday nights at 9pm Eastern, beginning this Monday! If you haven't finalized your character's concept, this weekend's the time to do it.
-
Hi Dechs!
You'd certainly be welcome in the Paragon Universe. We're on guildportal at:
http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=231718
We love to run roleplayed mission teams, and sometimes we do in-character roleplay in the base or the Midnighter Club as well as running custom-created single-use missions in AE for our characters' story arcs. So you'd have lots of opportunities to explore your warshade's story!
The concept of the Paragon Universe is that a bunch of solo heroes and a few teams share this one big base (called 'The Citadel'). So we'd just need to roleplay getting your warshade invited to work out of the Citadel, and then you interact with everyone else from there!
The best way to contact us is to join the Paragon Universe global channel and ask away if you have any OOC questions! /sg and /coalition are in-character channels. Or you can contact me at @dark quill if our online times mesh!
Dark Quill -
We've gotten enough interest that we're moving forward!
Here are some links so you can come talk to us if you're interested!
Here's the Paragon Universe website. It's where we'll be coordinating.

You don't have to join before you can post.
Here's where we talk about scheduling:
http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.asp...opicID=8534245
And here's where we're working out our characters:

Hi, Torero!
You're welcome to come give us a look at the Paragon Universe. We're on guildportal at:
http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=231718
We're the most active from 9-11 eastern, so it sounds like we'd overlap pretty well with your playtime. We're a good environment for both solo heroes and those who want to be in teams. We've got active forums, and we're all about the roleplay! When you hop online tonight, just join the Paragon Universe global channel and ask away if you have any OOC questions! /sg and /coalition are IC, of course!
Dark Quill -
To be 'in' the SG, yeah, you'd need to quit your current one. Since we can only form 7 coalitions (last time I checked), it's official policy to keep our coalition slots for actual groups of several people with whom we can interact (though we do make temporary exceptions for RP purposes). That said, I've kept my stable of characters in their old tiny SGs and only have my 1-3 characters in the PU. So I haven't lost all my old work, I just have a better creative outlet now in the PU. So, you know, the next time you imagine a new character and wish he or she had folks to interact with on a regular basis, consider us!
And whether you're in the SG or not, you can still join our global channel. We usually announce IC events there, so if you can hear it, you can get someone to invite you over and we'll get you into the base. -
I love me a Dr. Q! I even made a character specifically to spend more time in the Shadow Shard and to run Shadow Shard TFs. His player (me) just hasn't had time lately to devote four hours to running one. (It's possible to do one in 2.5 hours, I know, but it's best to plan for 4). But I've got more time lately. Maybe if someone else organizes it and picks the time, I'll be able to join in too!
-
Did I mention that tonight is Incognitus night? Freedom's Arch Mage's team of intrepid mystical crimefighters meets in the Midnighter Club's Steel Canyon library at 9pm Eastern! If you can't get into the Club yet, he'll still accomodate you!
-
Hey, Zeth_Blaze, did you get on the Paragon Universe global last night? We were a bit overwhelmed by the attendance at our STORM Night, so in the midst of handling the logistics, I neglected to look for you before I logged off. We can make this happen! *writes down Zeth_Blaze's global*

Who doesn't love a little awkward?
Thanks for the encouragement, guys! I've got a little more interest coming in via PM, but I'd like a bit more before we consider the project a 'go for launch!' -
As this has been warmly received elsewhere, I'm putting up a general call for roleplayers here:
I'd like to start a new little mini-SG within the Paragon Universe. It will be a family-centered team where the various members are related in some way, whether it's by blood, by long friendship, or by love. It's inspired by superhero families like Astro City's Furst Family or the Fantastic Four or the Nobles from Noble Causes, but it is no way a copy or even an homage.
I'll be playing the role of Prof. Paragon, Scientist! Often in his laboratory cooking up new experiments, he sometimes enters the field with his Heat-ray Goggles and neutrino-beam Science Gloves, not to mention his trusty Ultra-Taser and Flying Artillery Platform. He accompanies his friends and family on their adventures.
So every week, we'll go on a Science Adventure! Maybe into the bowels of the Earth to fight Rockmen. Maybe we'll explore an abandoned space station. Maybe we'll travel to another dimension or back in time or into the future!
I like to make heavy use of AE in order to create single-use adventures for my RP teams, so I expect we'll be doing a lot of that. Anyone else who wants to create adventures for us can do so. And if we're all too busy and haven't come up with anything, we can even do normal mission content!
We'll have up to ten slots (not everyone shows up every week), and meet once a week.
So far we've got Prof. Paragon, his robot, and his longtime friend/bodyguard. We still need some actual relatives, maybe some nieces or nephews or cousins who got superpowers in some way (including accidental side effects of Prof. Paragon's experiments!), maybe the Prof's ex-wife and her new husband. Maybe some kids!
Once we get some interest, we can talk time of week. I'm best between 6-11pm ET, and I won't be able to do Tuesdays (before 10) or Wednesday nights. But again, we can wait to talk about nailing down the weekly time once we figure out who we've got! (Or if we've got!)
who's up for it?
