Quote:It's a lot more conceivable than Clark getting a red sun generator, wearing a kryptonite condom, being able to control the muscle spasms involved, or the other ways people think that those two could hook up.And I always thought man of steel woman of tissue was one of the stupidest things someone ever took seriously.
If that requires you to use mental gymnastics, I have to wonder how you don't think Supes hasn't destroyed a lot of things just by simple human actions.

Quote:Sneezing, watching how hard he grips something, how hard he stomps his feet, etc., are a lot easier to control than the involuntary actions in a physical coupling. Here's a fun activity.
Try and count all the involuntary actions or movements you make over the course of one day. And you're telling me Supes can suppress all those involuntary actions, but not other ones.
Quote:Look, of COURSE a physical relationship with Lois is unrealistic given his powers. But so is the idea that the guy could go more than a week without blowing his cover.
The first time he tries having physical relations with a normal human is the first day he's dumping a body in the sun. If he was able to...practice...with a powered human, he might be able to branch out into normal humans.
Quote:And thanks for the reading recommendation, but I'm about as interested in the sex-logistics of my favorite superheroes as I am in the sexual preferences of the puppets on Sesame Street. In other words, not at all. -
Quote:Because those times are when he can fully concentrate along with the fact that he grew up trying not to do anything. When it comes to the rather...distracting...nature inherent in a physical relationship, along with the involuntary muscle actions, it's a lot harder to justify him being able to control than it is in day-to-day activities. How is it any different from the "mental gymnastics" it takes to explain how he simply gets through the day without crushing or destroying something?
I mean, THAT'S where yer playin' the unbelievability card?
Go read Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex by Larry Niven. -
From the physical standpoint, Superman/WW works a heckuva lot better than Superman/LL. Sorry, but I don't buy the mental gymnastics people try to use to justify how Kal and Lois could have anything approaching a physical relationship.
Don't feel bad for Lois. She's been getting sufficient lovin' from...some dude...in comics as of late. -
Now if he could just say he's quitting ALL comics....

Is the cape not included in the Nature Affinity bundle?

I think the funniest part was Mako commenting that us crashing his computer is not a valid response for his snark.
(Paraphrased, I don't remember his actual words.)

I just realized Joe Morton, who plays Henry Deacon in Eureka, was also in Terminator 2.

Don't think anyone's responded to this, but are there any badges associated with the event?

There are times that I wish I could still get toys like that...

And violence. Lots and lots of violence. I think my favorite is in Commando when gets to the bad guy's HQ. I mean, sure, Predator is good fun, but there's something decidedly hilarious about using a rake to skewer a random mook.

Once they switched to that godawful new format design, I stopped reading anything on that site. Before that, it was decent for a laugh or two or some esoteric news, but now? Can't pay me to go back there.

Quote:Go read The Unincorporated Man.But it's virtual reality! VIRTUAL! REALITY!
That's like the apex of any and all video gaming and where I've dreamed the hobby eventually reaches at some point. There's bound to be people to actually seem even more excited about the possibilities and sign up to test it considering how many people will graciously hop on betas for anything with the term 'video game' in it.
That said, I probably would actually do the same and not get involved in the first place. Personally, I don't really do betas that often. This is one of those things I've literally put into the 'look and listen' bin as I'd want to assure it's safe before participating. -
Quote:You should use Dethklok's fish album. Though that is marked as being for Aquatic Life only.Y'know, Freitag, you're kinda messing with my zen here.
I had a plan for a Captain Mako video done to "Beast" by KMFDM. But apparently that is just way too grim and dark for him. Maybe I should plan to use "Under the Sea" instead.

Uh...ya...I notice Protector being absent from the list.

Quote:I'm guessing the production team likes it because marketing seems to be nonexistent, IMO.So is this free placement because TBBT's production team happens to like CoX or is this a planned marketing thing?
CoH/V boxes (along with Guild Wars) were also fairly prominent in episodes of Chuck. There tended to be at least one shot per episode in the Buy More where they were visible. -
Unless there is a time differential, then you're going to die anyways. You'll have about 3 days real time to beat the game since that's about the length of time that a human can go without drinking before dying. Are the players hooked up to an outside apparatus to support functions like IV hydration or a catheter? If not, it'll be...messy...on the other side without either a serious time differential or a game that is easy to beat.

Five episodes?
...
Hasn't it been like a year or better since the last batch? Are they Olympic torch running the episodes around?
The only show that I can think of that's taking more time is the next batch of Venture Brothers. After all, it's only been since November of 2010 when Operation PROM aired, and the new ones still won't be airing till spring of 2013. -
So why was the event shut off early? Hit Streak said it went till the 31st and today's the 31st. Or did they shut it off this morning rather than letting it go for the duration of the 31st?

Has anyone made mention (in the past) about thinking of rounding down (or up, whatever) point purchases to increments of 5, so that you don't end up those goofy leftover 1 & 2 digit point values? I mean, it's bad enough when I end up with 10-30 leftover xbox live points, but it would be (to me) fairly frustrating to end up with 1-2 leftover Paragon Points.

Quote:Well...China is where World War Z basically started. Was there any mention of this guy going salvage diving in man-made lakes?
