Umm...I'd go with Pose 1. With pose 2, you're going to need to do foreshortening, which can get QUITE tricky.

So, anatomy-wise, first and foremost, you should enlarge his head a bit in Pose 1.

As for muscle mass, he needs bigger deltoids, I believe that's what they're called (the part right above the biceps). With arms, the structure gradually gets smaller. Even if you want some guy witth HUGE "guns", you're going to need a foundation that can support it. Moving outward a little bit, you're probably going to need to either enlarge his wrists or make his hands a little bit smaller (I'd go with enlarging his wrists so that it'd fit more with the overall massive structure of his body).

For his waists, you should straighten that line out a little bit due to him being a male character.

Actually, that's looking pretty good. I can point out a few things, but overall, anatomical structure is pretty solid. Since I was so big on promoting expressions, I'd like to draw your attention to her lips. Since you're working in Photoshop, I'd like to make a suggestion. Use the lasso tool and lasso around the bottom lip, then move it SLIGHTLY to the left...and blend as necessary. Basically, when you draw lips, the top lip always protrudes outward SLIGHTLY more than the bottom lip. When the bottom lip goes out further, that creates the illusion of an under-bite (which, in general is quite rare).

Keep it up, mate. You're getting there.

Very impressive. It's nice to see some really strong artwork from someone so young. That's alot of potential there.

Here's the story of a semi-typical JET...(it's basically the journal of a guy that spent 3 years as a JET...technically, it's completed since he already finished the 3 years but he decided to stay in Japan afterwards...anyways, it's hilarious)...try to read it from the beginning. It's worth every word.

The thing about artist guides is that you have to take into consideration that they're artists, not writers. Generally, artists don't care much for backstory and whatnot. All we really want is to see what the characters look like, maybe a couple random tidbits of information like powersets, personality, and character. History and whatnot is generally just extra reading.

I've never actually watched "Heroes" but I don't see what's the big deal. I mean...isn't that what the internet is for? You could just goto google and search for Heroes and you'd get like a million reference shots.
