I appreciate the offer but I must decline Ruby. I dont really have the time between work and school at the moment, and I dont think I am good enough to be commissioned anyway.

Here ya go JG! I hope you dont mind but I went for a slightly comical representation.

Hey JG, What are his powers? -
Couldnt make Nin wait too long and I tend to do better with females, but i need to branch out so ill do a guy next. (Maybe ill finish the first one I started haha). I also think I need to fix Firebrandi's legs, she looks like she is about to do the splits... So much to do! But its fun... Anyway, Here Niviene!
Niviene -
Okay, after many tries at JG's character, I decided to move on to another and come back (No worries, I am still working on yours JG!). I did however, finish Fire Brandi! So without further ado, I unveil the first piece of art that will set the tone for what you guys think of my art overall, and the base for which I shall try to improve from!
FireBrandi - Redone
I was not going to color originally, but the fire was too boring without some spicy red. : -
Well. This is more than I could ever possibly hope to finish! I hope I dont disappoint all of you because im really not that great, but you will all provide much variety for my improvement. I look forward to seeing how you like what I do for ya.

I just bought myself a tablet! Woooo. And as I have not had a scanner I couldnt draw for you guys in any way that you would be able to see. Now I can!
Just a disclaimer of course, I am not terribly good and I am still getting used to the tablet so dont expect anything too good, and that way if you like it youll be surprised! haha.
Just to make it fair, if you want one TA, you must post yours pics here just like everyone else :P haha. -
I wanted to try my hand at coloring things, and so I thought this would be a cool piece to color. It's my first real color, but I thought some might enjoy it. Here ya go, tell me what you think!
Fall of Positron -
I'm surprised to disagree with the majority, but I dislike all of them but #1. I think it is such an awesome looking costume I may steal it haha. If I come up with something for a suggestion I will post pictures!

For a long time, people have been discussing alter egos and origin stories. Today, I would like to introduce:
The Back Story Power Pools
Back Story Power Pools are Power Pools available at a level 4 (or some other very early level). These powers represent the experiences that a character has had in their life previous to becoming a hero/villain that have shaped how they approach the Herculean task of changing the world.
Back Story Power Pools (from here on referred to as BSPPs) provide benefits to the players that enhance the experience of the world of CoX without altering the strategies of fighting or detracting from those who choose not to use them.
The restrictions for picking Power Pool Powers still apply. You still need to have 1 or 2 to pick 3, and two powers to pick 4.
Here are some examples of ideas.
Rogue
Even before you began your official career in Paragon City/The Rogue Isles, you led a disreputable life. Whether you were a high profile hit man or a self righteous pick pocket, you understand how complicated crimes work.
1) Pilfer – Your hands are faster than most people’s eyes, allowing you to grab and hide objects at incredible speeds. Due to this, your interruption time for mission related objects is lowered 20%.
2) Eavesdrop – Your ear is constantly to the ground on the subject of big crimes. You know when they are going to happen before anyone else. You must complete one less newspaper/radio mission before unlocking a Safeguard/Mayhem mission.
3) Criminal Efficiency - Every second is an opportunity to either slip up or hit it big. You value these seconds, and make the most of them. When you enter a Safeguard/Mayhem Mission, your team immediately gets a 2 Minute bonus. This power may only be stacked once.
4) Blueprint Knowledge – A good rogue knows the area before attempting to get anything out of it. You are the best warrior you know, and glowing mission objectives appear on your map when you enter the mission.
Obviously, the purpose of the Rogue Power Pool is to increase one’s enjoyment of the newspaper/radio missions. This can be great for those that don’t like the story of CoX and just want to play.
Student
You may have been a college student. You may have been a religious scholar. In the grand scheme of things, you study hard and learn quickly, a skill that can be invaluable to a developing hero.
1) Subservient – When someone tells you what to do, you do it well. When you are in lackey/sidekick mode, your level is increased by an additional level, making you the same strength as your Mentor/Boss.
2) Protective – You take care of your Mentor/Boss loyally. Toggle: While this power is active and you are within an appropriate range of your Mentor/Boss, they receive a defense bonus.
3) Visual Learner – Learning by example is a specific strength of yours. When you complete a mission in Sidekick/Lackey mode, you receive an experience bonus.
4) Studious – Through your studies you’ve valued mistakes and negative experiences, as they are the best teacher of all. When in sidekick/lackey mode, your experience debt burns off at a twenty-five percent higher rate.
This is a good Power Pool for beginners. Additionally, it can serve as an incentive for players to make long term duo characters.
[u]Although I did not write it out, I suggest a symmetrical version of this called "Instructor", which rewards people for being Mentors/Bosses. The third power of that pool would allow one to have two lackeys/sidekicks.[u]
Lone Wolf
You’ve been by yourself most of your life. That doesn’t bother you, though. In fact, not much bothers you anymore.
1) Inner Strength – When you are on a mission without a team, Inspirations provide an additional 5% bonus.
2) Unshaken – You’ve been outnumbered so many times, it doesn’t frighten you. When more than four enemies are simultaneously attacking (drawn aggro from four enemies), you receive an 8% attack bonus.
3) Vicious Strike – When you are alone, sometimes you have to play dirty, just to survive. When you are on a mission solo, you have a slightly increased chance of stunning enemies.
4) Wanderer- The more you are by yourself, the more you learn. When you complete a mission solo, you receive an experience bonus.
This is for the breed of folk that want to solo City of Heroes/Villains, or for those that just want to feel hardcore by diving into the fray themselves.
Merchant
Before all of this started, you dealt in currency, and lots of it. You understand its value more than most people.
1) Silver Tongue – You can haggle and negotiate easily, always getting the better bargain. When buying Enhancements, you receive a 10% discount.
2) Businessperson – Your ability to come off trustworthy always gets you in with people. When completing missions for non-broker contacts, your relationship meter fills more rapidly.
3) Haggler – Somehow, when someone buys from you, they always think that they are coming out ahead, even though you completely ripped them off. When selling Enhancements, you sell them for an additional 10%.
4) Business Deal – Friends give friends discounts. Your Kindred Contacts sell you Enhancements at an additional 20% discount.
These enhancements enable people to be more focused on enhancing their character and contacts, driving them to complete the story missions. Also, it may influence trade, as Merchants will inevitably buy enhancements and then sell them for profit at the market.
Obviously, many of these will have to be tweaked. There are several more that I have in mind, but I am not trying to sell the individual pools, I am trying to sell the idea in general.
What do you think?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think this is an awesome idea. Like others have said, these are unique, but minor enhancements so I think they should be given to you free of charge, no power picks/slots. Make it part of character creation and maybe you get each power automatically at a certain level interval. (say 5/10/20/30) -

I think the best advice I have ever gotten, and it's also the most frequently passed out advice, is to start real. That is, even if you love love love anime and want to draw anime, at least start your basics with real human anatomy.
I love to draw stylized heroes with over the top musculature and beyond normal poses, but I could never get them to look right. The "over the top poses" just looked like they hurt.
Once I started to draw more realistic people, I have begun to get the shapes right. I have yet to really branch back out to non-realistic heroes, but ever once in awhile ill flare a picture up abit and it turns out pretty well.
So in short, try to learn the basics of the real human, and then learn how to draw that anime style.
P.S. I do know this is not the fun thing to hear, but it will probably be a long while before you ever get to truly draw the amazing anime style you want. I have been practicing for over a year I would say and my pictures still do not come out very well.
I do not know how I have made it and not given up completely. I did stop drawing for awhile because I felt like I would never get to where I wanted to be, but I then found when I picked it back up again that I do enjoy drawing even "realistic" figures, especially when I start to get it right. So hang in there.
Anyway, all this talk and I have said nothing of your drawing! I think you pointed out some things already that you knew were wrong. The arms are abit to small, and the head abit too big. Here are some good tips I have picked up.
#1: Evaluating your own art is very difficult. You stare at it so long you do not see some VERY obvious flaws in it, so turn it around and look at it through the light, or hold it up to a mirror. You will be surprised. Most often when I do this, I will draw a head and think wow that looks good, only to look at it in reverse and see that the head looks oblong horribly so.
Actually that is all I have got, but keep it up! Sky is the limitArt can be very enjoyable so keep pumping it out!

Here's my attempt at a Blue Steel mini in original and avatar sizes.

I love this one! However, is his hand that is thrust forward not backwards? If it is HIS left hand, should the thumb not be on the inside of the body? -
Aww, really? That makes me happy
. Thanks anonymous voter person, glad you liked it

You need to pick a static place for the camera. (All 4 photo's must be taken from the exact same place and angle). Then, pick the "main image", any will do. Then put the other 3 in their own seperate layers, and erase everything except for where your guy is in that photo.
Since they are all shot from the exact same place, anything you erase will be underneath it in another photo, and will be exactly what was there before, exact it will allow your character to showup. Make Sense?
BTW, you would need demo editting to do this where the camera is in the same place but your character moves. -
*12 hours later* hehe. We are all so excited, you must reveal! lol
-
That was actually a word I could not think of how to use and settled on Insure as I did not have access to a dictionary at the time and forgot when I got home. Thanks for the correction!
Glad you liked it SaFirre! -
Why thank you again Mr. Grey, I appreciate the feedback! I'll keep trying. By the way, care to point out the mistake so that I can note it for future reference?
I did have the darndest time because I typed this in word, and when I copy/pasted, every apostrophe and quotation mark was replaced with #!432 stuff, so i had to manually replace them. -
32 reads and 1 reply? No critiques? Did you all think it sucks and don't want to be mean? haha

Ill post just in case you are still accepting some
I love the Flame Enchantress ^_^ It's awesome.
Fair Skye (2)
She stands 5ft 4in and yet for all her shortcomings, she is as beautiful as any woman could hope to be. Her skin shimmers brightly even in the darkest of places, and her complexion always maintains the reason for which she was named. Her presence lets out a magnificent aura of pure energy, and she is the most noble and honest young child you would ever meet. That was until her mother was murdered in an attempt to save her daughters life. Everything changed that day.
Today, she is far from the broken young girl she was after that horrible accident. She has tried to make something of her self ever since that fateful day, but has yet to add up to much. She studied hard to become a lawyer. She devoted herself so much to the cause of going after those that hurt her mother that she graduated at the young age of 25. She spent two years after that going after every criminal she could find connected to her mothers death. She gave that up long ago. The sad realization was, in Paragon, criminals ruled even the court systems.
Down and out, she turned to taking it all into her own hands. She never doubted that she was different, but knew that her powers did not seem enough to be of use in fighting the people she saw every day. The criminals with such awesome powers, that hers shrunk in comparison to. She had no other choice. She used the skills she had gained in her pursuit of justice as a lawyer, and researched every possible lead into how to gain some power of her own. Coincidentally enough the easiest, and yet most powerful, route she found was through the fairies.
Known for their quick flight, eternal life and their fast reflexes Fair considered them the perfect solution. Better still, they had the power to alter humans and turn them into one of their own. She could use this to her advantage, and she did. She researched for 2 years all she could about the fairies so they would love her so much they would turn her, and so they did.
She is now known as Fair Skye, one of the long foretold chosen few of the Skye prophecies. With her keen reflexes, she has trained her skills with the bow, and uses it to aid her battles. The aura of energy she has always had with her has become her most potent weapon to anything, or anyone, who dare come near her. She started the battle with her revenge on the Skulls, for the cruel fate they left her to. With that complete ( This is that long story I wrote if you want to read it) , she has found it in herself to continue on and fight for all the young and the old to save them from the same fate that befell her. Villains beware, the Skye has been unleashed. -
Hey foo! I wrote up a short bio just for the purposes of this contest (but also because since I have started to write (this is my second ever entertainment piece, following the really long one that i retracted) I found I enjoy it). Anyway, I hope you like it!
