Quote:You say this as if it's a bad thing.Merging the server lists only means that the NA servers will be getting access to 4 more servers while the EU servers will get access to 11 more servers.
OP, there's been no official word on server list merges, in fact when the servers were moved, the announcement explicitly stated that there was no server list merge so I'm not expecting anything any time soon. But I live in hope.
I agree with everyone else, try support. The NCSoft site has been having issues with cards for ages now. Best of luck in trying to join us, hope to see you soon. -
I hate to admit it, but this thread makes me sad. I've played my Stone/SS to 50 with no issues and had fun all the way. The odd percentage of defence hasn't bothered me one bit. Out of Granite for most of my tanking and into it for the heavier stuff.
Yes, having to take TP to get over tiny obstacles is annoying so having a minimal jump height would be nice but otherwise I've found it a very solid set. Sorry. -

I find that they are geared that way to promote teamwork which is a double edged sword, especially for those ATs that struggle solo. My Kinetic Defender can turn a slow, low damage Granite Tank into a fast, unstoppable arresting machine, in return for which he makes sure I don't get my head pounded into the pavement. Give and take as they say.

Quote:This. Absolutely this, seconded thirded and all the others. What I really want to thank you for is just communicating at all. I don't know if there was some sort of new guideline brought into effect severely limiting developer interaction on the forums, if things are just really that busy at PS right now, or if there's some other reason or combination of reasons, but developer communication has been noticeably lower lately. Even during this Issue's admittedly short closed beta, there wasn't a whole lot of interaction between developers and testers. I know that we're usually spoiled when it comes to developer interaction, but things have just been rather quiet as of late.
Have a great Thanksgiving. -
Good gods, that sent shivers down my spine. Excellent work as always.
Can I ask what the piece of music was? Felt very epic indeed. -
I'm a sucker for player meets so I go to all the EU ones I can and I've met at least 10 if not more players from my SG and many, many more lovely people.
Most bizarre thing I ever found out was that I worked (and still do) in a building directly opposite the EU offices of NCSoft. More so, one of my work colleagues left my place to go and work as an 'intern' at NC straight over the road. So I ended up chatting to the EU Mod team at lunch frequently. -

I'm fairly certain that the lag caused on the ITF is due to factors other than our location. Still, less rubberbanding will make playing a kin more bearable.
I doubt we'll see any more moves to unification this year but next year maybe? We can but hope.
Good luck with the move folk, see you all on the other side. -
Once again, Shadowe has said what I was thinking in a far more eloquent manner than I could think of.
A free transfer period would be good... eventually. -
Quote:Apologies if my post came off more doom laden than was intended. I wouldn't leave my native server but I know plenty that would. Union is already a medium population server but I do think that free transfers straight after a merge would not help that number to grow. I wouldn't say no to a free transfer offer but I think the timing would need to be more sensitively handled.... right. Just like how everyone transfers to Freedumb every time free transfers have been offered now.
What would happen with a list merge followed by free transfers:- Some people would move lesser-played EU alts off onto another server.
- Some people would roll new characters - both ways, to and from EU.
- Some people would say "I'm not going over there."
- Some EU players in the NA would go "Hey, I know those servers!" and roll alts THERE.
- Some of my fellow Americans would roll on Zukunft and go "lol wut spk englesh nub wut u say?"
- Some would transfer to Freedom and go "Someone just said 'lol wut spk englesh nub wut u say?' to me. Defiant, take me back!"
- Sprinkle with /ragequit and doooooooooooooooooooom posts, serve warm, feeds 6.

I think that what Zombie Man means is that we would have a merged server list which is desirable. However a week of free server transfers straight after such a list merge would kill the EU servers in a mass migration to NA servers.
Instead it would be better if no server transfers were offered, thereby encouraging NA players to roll up on the former EU servers and the EU players a chance to try out all of the NA servers. My altisis would certainly go into overdrive for a short period. -
Quote:Completely agree. I hope that what we're seeing here is just 'Stage One' of bringing us all together at last.I'm reserving judgement - moving the servers to anywhere other than where they are currently is a good start. Moving them to the US makes economic sense too.
However, that's only half the job done. Let's hope we get universal access to all servers and rather sooner than "Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon" -
Thank you for the post Avatea, this is certainly good news in terms of connectivity and reducing the lag many of us EU players suffer.
Now, although it doesn't say server list merge, this is certainly a step in the right direction. I can only hope that finally bringing this community together as one is on the cards. -

I use it on my SS/WP mainly for fun but also for giving me a breather occasionally. If I pull two mobs or they get some lucky hits in, I can sometimes find myself taking damage faster than I can regenerate it with Rise to the Challenge. Hitting Hand Clap can give me a few moments to pop a green or get away.
I class it as a fun power and it does feel fun to blast all those foes away from you but on a tight build I'd drop it. -
I agree and disagree.
There are players out there who will blow past low level content because they don't want to play low level content. Regardless of CoX's focus on 'the journey' rather than the end goal, there are still people who don't want to be low level and blast past content until they get to 'the good stuff'. Even with Fitness becoming inherent, things still won't really take of until you've got SOs slotted or IOs become more viable (around 22 - 35 I reckon).
But then there are veterans who want to enjoy the content and for whom Praetoria isn't appropriate. I hate running early content and I'd do AE arcs if the rewards were consistent with non-AE content. But they're not and it isn't so hey ho, newspapers it is most of the time. -
Firstly I'd make Fitness inherent so I wasn't gasping for end every two minutes...
Oh wait...
Seriously though, instead of reworking loads of story arcs that would eat up a lot of developer time, I would do one simple thing:
I would spend time creating one, maybe two very low level Task Forces / Strike Forces. A sort of 'baptism of fire' for anyone wanting to throw themselves into the game quickly and for letting veterans blast through the dull levels early. I played a neat little arc in the AE that was aimed at low level heroes and had Back Alley Brawler sending new heroes out against some of the low level villain groups to get to know them and learn the ropes as such. First mission was against Hellions, the next against Skulls, then Clockwork, Trolls, Outcasts, Council etc. Whoever designed it spent a lot of time writing clues and extra dialogue explaining who these groups are and what they want.
It was such an excellent introduction, it could work really nicely as an introductory TF. As long as there was a coherent storyline to it, it would be good to give people a crash course in CoH villain groups and a different route for those who get bored by the sewers. By the end of the TF, the team could be 10-12, into DOs and ready to take on the Positron TF.
That would do it for me I reckon. -

Quote:My power button has a big red ring around it at about my daughter's head height. Oh so inviting for prying fingers at vital moments...Computer starts to cycle and I look down to see his little finger on the oh-so-shiny button on the front of the computer. Awesome design plan, guys.
