Time to stop that and think about the play-style that motivates you. Then, pick your powers based on that play-style. If you like your powers, the slotting and minute efficiency gains are going to take a back seat to having fun by actually playing the character.

I have a level 43 blaster that's 3 years old. He hasn't respecced out of his fitness pool into inherent. He has a 6-slotted super jump. He could absolutely be more powerful - and he eventually will be. But I need to actually play him a lot more before I know HOW I like to play him. Once I figure that out, I'll burn a respec to build for it. Until then, it will be wasted.
I like my characters too much NOT to RESPEC!

I think people are missing the point. I don't hate RESPECs. I love them too much! It has nothing to do with characters, builds or anything else. I love to RESPEC! But I can't stop!

Who would want to respec when you could be out whacking foes?! Oh, right, you... Well, you have my my sympathy, even if I can't understand your illness - I have a 50 (one of only two) from a couple years back who has the sloppiest build ever and I still run her on occasion.
I can do a full RESPEC in 10 minutes with no mistakes, make some cash and boost effeciency. It's no pain to me. All glory.

I just RESPECced again last night. I can't stop. I tried. I stood by Jack for about 20 minutes praying not to click, but I clicked. I'm sorry to let everyone down again.

Last night, I dreamt that CoH decided to make RESPECs unlimited. I woke up sad.

Although I'm laying it on a little thick here, am I seriously the only one? Claws has done about 30 on his main. That sounds about right.

Don't get me wrong, I play. A lot. I have to in order to buy... well, you know.

Let me back up and say... I'm more looking for sympathy than solutions. I use mids, but it makes me want to respec more. I use all three builds and then want to respec all of them.

It's an addiction. I can't stop. I don't want to stop. Yes I do. Wait...

    brb respeccing.
  5. I'm going to step outside of the 'how to' section into the 'should you' section.

Should you be the leader? Does the star mean you have to lead? Does the team need a leader?

In my experience, no one on a team leads. I've very rarely had a person with a star tell me what to do. Most of the time, the team finds a groove without direction from any one person.

    There are exceptions to this.

    1. New Players - Sometimes a team member will add advice for new players.
    2. Bad Players - Basically, me. Running off and doing my own thing. Happens occasionally.
    3. Speed runs and complex TF strategy - Where coordination is key.
    4. When players ask.

You don't need to be an active, vocal leader when players know their roles. That includes YOU. If you don't know how an AT works, don't tell them how to play.

If no one is dying, and the missions are getting done, go with the flow.

If there are multiple team wipes... discuss, don't demand.

There's a lot of wind about Altaholics. Yes yes. It's a disease and blahhdeeblahblah...

I have a bigger issue. I'm all hepped up on RESPECS. I can't stop and it's ruining the game. I blow about 400 mil every couple of weeks on RESPECS. I've squandered all my vet rewards, my freespec... I even considered pulling all my expwensive enhancements out during my last RESPEC to pay for another RESPEC.

Any help for a junkie like me?

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Halloween_Event_2010

It has 7 badges attached to it.
This is what happens when I take a year off.

Of course, I tried searching the wiki for Halloween Tip. Forgot that the search function like specific mission titles... uggg.
  8. I got a 'Halloween Tip'. Never seen one before. Got a badge and a reward and saw a cool map.

Then I went Trick or Treating and got phat lootz. Then I tried to see how long I could hold off spawns at a banner.

I think for 3 days, it's a great little surprise.

    Personally, I was very pleased.

BTW, anyone else got Halloween Tips? When were these added? Is there anywhere to get info on them? I tried paragon wiki...

  10. Wow.

24 hours a day x 30 days in a month is 720 hours. Let's say you pay $16.00 a month to play. $16.00 divided by 720 is about 2 cents an hour.

    Hmmmmm.

Here's 50 cents. Keep the change.
  11. Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but when I'm invited to a group, the leader becomes my new dad.

If dad says wait, I wait. If dad says use my best attacks, I use my best attacks. If dad says 'Will you die for me?' I shout YES and prove it. I am afraid of my dad, so I do what he says. Dad doesn't like it when I burn the bacon.

Leaders are never to be questioned. This isn't some social revolution folks. It's a game where you do what you're told, or else you will have your fun card revoked. You want to express yourself, get a diary, but it has no place in Team Chat. Team Chat is for LEADERS. Shut your mouth and do what you're told.

It's not about what works, it's about doing what you're told to do. If you do what you are told and it doesn't work, do it again and do it better this time.

Listen to your Dad. Don't burn the bacon.

He got the standard generic response that's sent immediately after making a request of these sorts that asks for that information. Just fill in the blanks then instead of having to wait for a person to ask for the information. And, as already said on the first page, you don't have to fill in everything.

(now all of you can go back to bragging about how much of a bunch of hoarders you are )
Thanks. I'll try to be on time in the future. No guarantees. And yes, I have all my boxes.
  13. You can have an account and the game without a box. The box should have nothing to do with a pay account. You got either a generic response via email, or an idiot. Call them. Tell them:

    - You already have the game on your computer.
    - You have the credit card number for the account.
    - You have all other relevant security information like DOB etc.

If it is your account, they will be glad to let you pay for it.
  14. Flight: When you need it, you don't have it. When you have it, you don't need it.
  15. If you want to ride the crest of the wave and be in the group of firsters, yes, it's grindy. I do other stuff, run a few WST here and there. I'll have my ultra by the end of the week. And then what? Wait. And that was taking my sweet time and not bothering with the rush to greatness.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but to me, it reads like a cross between "So you want the developers to drop everything and work on what YOU want?" and "You just want everything for free without having to work for it." Neither of the two is good.
No no no no. You're right. It's a masterpiece.

The fact I'd need to unslot the Alpha or increase difficulty is indeed a workaround and I'm very aware of it and I regularly do. However that doesn't counter the fact that the game is going through a continual process of being dumbed down and made easier
There is a second choice. Slot it and ignore the lore. Can't really back the train up at this point. Might as well enjoy the ride. There are many things in this game I ignore for concept reasons....
  19. Malta. Just a cool idea and fun to fight.
  20. I promise nothing and do the invites one by one, stating the number of slots left to fill. By the time I see the little seven next to the second to last person's name, I put out the last call.

I might, at times, grab 4 or 5 right off the bat and then call out again. I've never run into an over invite, but I have run into a 'wrong dude' invite, a 'wrong level' invite, a 'don't have the arc or acess' invite, the 'oh, that's redside?" attempted invite and the occasional request to boot someone to make room for one player's third account...

I suppose if I did over invite, I'd tell the group, ask if anyone minds dropping. There's usually someone on the fence every time anyways...

I don't care. That was really really mean and goes way out of bounds. "Play again?" as in, "This soda cap is not a winner, please play again"? Implying I'm a loser? As in what I was wasn't funny? Not funny????

I just hope this doesn't ruin my career. Do the neighbors know? Oh gad...

Not really funny. Please play again.
Oh, now you're just being mean.
  23. Rare components are crafted in the Incarnate Window, last tab. The Notice of the Well being the exception, and that is given as a reward for completing the Weekly Strike Target.

Some components require other components to make them, plus shards. Others require only shards.
