I hope and pray they don't allow side flipping. Let hero-side be hero-side and villains be villains. Let's concentrate on adding new SFs to villain side and new content to both sides. Let's fix all the bugs and errors, lets get some new power sets, I want my MM's with beast control!
Of course... I wouldn't be surprised if he's just having fun and counting how many people ask for the side flipping now.
Those sneaky devs and their sneakiness.

Yes, but wouldn't it be just awesome to have your Hero Beast Master be even better?? <eg>

Don't make remarks over the internet that you wouldn't make in person. And if you would make those types of remarks in person, draw a circle around your feet and fix everything in the circle before coming back to these forums.

If only people would actually do what you have so nicely written here.
Good for a laugh, for sure, but dayum! So true!

No doubt. This is a cool pet and all, and the buff is nice and all... but i doubt i'll ever use it... I can't think of ONE of my 25 active alts that'd have a wisp/fairy/clockwork/orb following he everywhere he goes... well maybe ONE... i do have a tech FF/Archer the orb could work with... but still...
Not that i'm bashing it, but to me... it's MEH.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well... as far as *justification* goes... I think I remember in the UK thread that the description of the fairy was something along the lines of.. she was found/rescued... I figure that pretty much any AT/Origin can come up with some sort of reason for having one of these lil widgets...
The fairy was saved/captured (hero/villain) during a CoT mission... Wisps could be pretty much explained the same way. For the CW or drones, they could be either created by the character (Science/Tech/Natural) or given/stolen from a friend/foe...
The buffs aren't overpowering but nice... the pets are blown-glass weak.. so.. all around decent, IMO... and creating an in-game justification isn't all that difficult.. and this coming from a very NON-RP player.. heh
As for the concerns about "Vet Only" requirements for team make-up... I wouldn't be too concerned. I play on Champion, Victory, Pinnacle and Protector.. I am more often than not the "eldest" player on most teams I am on, and I have about 6 months left before I get them.
If people start *demanding* that their teams are made up of these OLD vets.. I think they're gonna be kinda lonely.

I hadn't factored that in, as I've never even breathed the same air as a level 50.
I guess that trounces that theory right proper, unless someone wants to propose a solution.
As I familiarize myself more with the City of X progression concepts, I'm beginning to have an inclination that these powers should be unlocked similar to the costume slots, capes, and titles. That is to say, supplementary gains at certain levels.

I'm glad you were able to post so quickly after mine...
I just finished the entire thread.. and was wondering.. is there a V2.0 thread somewhere else? Or has the V2.0 just not panned out?

Good job...shall we start a comprehensive list of the ones we want then?
[/ QUOTE ]
A Master list will be included in the aforementioned "Back Story Power Pools V. 2.0".
Off the top of my head, here are the ideas:
Rogue: Increases Newspaper Mission fun.
Student: Dedicate one's self to sidekick.
Mentor: Dedicate one's self to teaching others.
Genius: Receives Items at an increased pace.
Lone Wolf: Excellent for Soloing Missions.
Divine: Receives minimal punishments for death, enabling a "reckless" playing style.
Merchant: Favors Story Contacts, with whom purchases and sales are very profitable.
and more when I think of them...
[/ QUOTE ]
I like the sound of these..
Here are two points that just came to me, not sure yet if they've been mention yet.
First: The changing of your BSPP: I can see that in one instance it would make complete sense to be able to do... and that is Student/Mentor. For a Hero/Villain to basically be bound to another player for the entirety of their career.. at 48 or whatever.. they could 'respec' from Student into Mentor to "pass on" what was taught to them. That I don't really see as a cheat.. and would make perfect sense in a story-driven powerset idea. =)
Second: How do the Kheldians figure into this theory? As a Peacebringer, you are unable to choose anything other than Natural as your Origin. The Warshade is forced to take Science. If this is (as per the point I have gotten to in the thread) intended or wanted to be a part of or tied into the Origin one takes... how would this be addressed to those of Kheldian "blood?"

You calling me out Janlee???
Yeah I believe this is bad for in game. Yeah I think such things most be earned.
However a market place for that exist its called e-bay they don't need to advertise it in game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, e-bay no longer accepts those kind of sales and there are none currently up there. It is now against their terms-of-use.
[/ QUOTE ]
Using the search term "city of heroes imfamy" I found this
Granted that was in the sponsored links section and I imagine a further search would find "masked" sales in their listings.
If City were truly zero tolerance on this matter I would think they would go after these sites and those reported via petition. Then again it may just be a legal hassle that they don't care to pursue.
...just sayin

Actually, I just clicked that link.. and got "0 results" .. I even did one for influence for the same.. and again... "0 results"
Guess they aren't as slow as you assumed?

Nope they are in neither fansite kit. Can anyone help me find images of the supergroup chest emblems?
[/ QUOTE ]
I, too, am wanting to get the graphics for the chest emblems for our website...
Is there a website that has them listed? Does the CoH/V site have them listed?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a "red name" confirmation or denial on whether or not reputation has an effect on Task Forces? We are attempting to complete the STF, and are seemingly unable to get past the Defeat Dr. Aeon mission that has him, and his many clones. I've suggested to our leader that we lower our reps, but he doesn't really want to because he isn't sure whether or not its going to make a difference, and he feels that Invincible is "fun."
We have all quit the TF to make an attempt later.. so whatever advice we can get will be for future reference.
If anyone can offer a link to a red name that can put this issue to rest... I'd be greatly appreciative.
Thanks...

We aren't ever going to see the new flight poses back are we?It's a shame since there was really nothing wrong with them except you couldn't choose which one you wanted except by scrolling through them. And honestly that was no big deal. Oh well. I figured once they took them off the table, that's where they would stay.
[/ QUOTE ]
From what I recall of the flight poses... there was a "strafing" problem with the way the camera functioned, making it difficult, or near impossible to keep a target in view.. or.. something along those lines... The reason it was pulled, was due to the issues surrounding that.. not because of the inability to select the specific pose.
I'm sure someone will be able to offer more info on that part...

Just because I have the need to say this...
Please ditch the suppression on movement powers...
PleasePleasePlease.
[/ QUOTE ]
NO!
I totally disagree...KEEP travel suppression.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can I ask why you want to keep suppression? The only possible purpose I can see is.. you are a PvPer.. and LOVE the idea that the *slowest* travel power actually gets to crawl... Super speed is not suppressed... Teleport is not suppressed... Super Jump is not suppressed... so it isn't "travel power suppression" ... it's "flight suppression."
Is that it?
Personally.. I really think that power changes like this should be separated in PvE/PvP zones... Correct me if I am wrong, but PvE villains with flight don't seem to have suppression... not that I have noticed, anyway.. So why is it not possible to keep suppression for PvP (since that seems the reason we have it anyway...) and remove it in PvE?
Peace -
[ QUOTE ]
2) As far as we know at this point, IOs that provide a bonus buff to the player (ie, +7.5% recharge), do not affect the power itself; they're just kind of "there". So slotting Fortitude for a recharge boost would only apply to you, not to the teammates you cast it on.
[/ QUOTE ]
But that would still benefit the team.. Being able to bring fortitude back faster allows it to be cast again sooner. It may not extend the actual power on the buffed teammate, but you can hit them again faster with a recharge... or am I getting that wrong?
Peace -
LOL.. I think it's time someone took their meds...
else the men in white coats may want to give you a nice dinner jacket that ties in the back.
Funny tho...
Peace -
This is truly awesome....
Now, color blindedness aside.. if there was some sort of guide for the NON-Visually impaired with costume creation, maybe there wouldn't be SO MANY heroes/villians with just butt-ugly costumes running around... -
[ QUOTE ]
you people have no idea what u're talking about...all this may seem like a nerf but it's really a fix... there's a difference.
they are simply getting the classes set for CoV when PvP becomes an issue.
so for all you whining about how your guy got nerfed, shut up. i think the devs wanted pvp to be a little more....even....
[/ QUOTE ]
Well.. I KNOW I am in the minority here... but still know many people that feel the same way as I do...
What about the players that do not like the arena? Are not interested in the PvP portion of the game?
I started playing CoH in July of last year. BEFORE the Arena was announced, BEFORE the new CoV was announced. I wanted to play CoH for the Comic Book/MMORPG game with teams in PvE.
ALL of these 'balancing' nerfs.. do nothing for me accept reduce my ability to be as valuable a teammate as I was before.
I have two level 50 characters, both of which I have also played on the test server. A Fire/Devices blaster, and an Illusion/Empathy controller. With the changes that the devs are planning (thus far) to take live my characters are no longer anywhere near the characters I spent MONTHS leveling to 50.
Yes, its nice that as a blaster, if I am taking damage, I shell out more damage, big deal if the healers have had their powers 'nerfed' to the point that I will die anyway. Yes, as a controller I can inflict more damage to those foes that I have held, but with the 'nerfs' the devs are making my holds do NOT hit as often as they did before, nor do they hold as long... in addition to the recharge times for my holds being increased.
All of this, in the interest of 'balancing' the game for PvP in arena play, and the release of CoV.
As I said, I know that I am in the minority when it comes to not playing for PvP.. that being said, there are still many players that, like me, have no interest in PvP.
I have long thought that as difficult as it may be to implement (or have the player base accept,) would be to have two methods of scoring the power pools. One set for PvE, like it is now.. pre-I5... and another for Arena/PvP zones post-I5 and CoV. Let those interested in PvP deal with the 'balanced' power sets.
Will it happen? I very seriously doubt it... is it 'viable'? To me.. it makes sense... -
[ QUOTE ]
I reallly reeeeally wish people would stop assuming that just because someone disagrees with their position on I5, that they haven't been on the test server. Because despite what you think, it is possible to test the I5 changes and be critical of them.
Not just because people arent godlike anymore, but because of the degree and/or methods which were chosen to reduce our power.
Point is, not everybody is "whining like little girls".
Oh, yeah, telling people they suck is a really bad way of making a point.

Amen! and Ditto that... -
What my friend did, as a lvl 50 healer.. he would fly thru Atlas, GC.. Steel what have you.. and using a keybind would target heroes that needed heals and heal them.. it was like the auto target using tab for enemies... I just don't know the keybind.. and he didnt remember how he did it.
Its not a mission thing -
I've been looking for help with binds for a while, so I really appreciate the time and effort you all have put into this...
I have seen a healer that uses a keybind to autotarget unteamed heroes to be able to check and heal off-team heroes easily.
I believed he used a shift+tab to select the off-team people, but have no idea what commands to use to make the bind myself. Can anyone here help me out, as I have a high level healer that I periodically take to the lowbie maps to assist people in danger with... Any help would be appreciated. -
Just wanted to say thanks for this..
