  1. i have 1 concern tho.. even tho not mny SG will be able to afford it, in the long run the big SGs will afford to buff their entire attack squad in a baseraid... its really hard to defend as it is, and imagine a skilled PvP-group complimenting their chars with aux-buffs?? sure it swings both ways, but in the end im sure attackers gain more, due to them having less problems winning to start with... perhaps a zoning nerf could be introduced, which would unfortunatley mean we cant use them in PvE tho.. any other reflections regarding this?
  2. ok, to kill a MM (which is quiet simple) u kill the henchies 1 by 1, he resummons them and u kill them again.. now he waits for recharge, while u kill him... another way is Cone/AoE attacks.. it will kill the pets so fast the MM wont even know what hit him (since AoEs will dmg 1st pets, then pets take additional dmg from MMs dmg... AR blasters has 2 nice DoT powers for this, so does fiery armor and SS. if MM is merc or ninja, his pets will be easier irradicated by SS-handclap that will send them flying and disoriented, leaving the MM alone (i guess u need to slot for KB, to make them fly far enough)

    few interesting notes:
Icy need his blapper to kill a MM with BG?? sounds like some1 is overpowered since that seems to be the only AT powerfull enough?

i wouldnt cry too much, since not even a passive granite-armor using tank, letting me kill him, would be even slightest afraid of my robots.. since he resist/regens too fast for my dmg (have assault) and dont even bring up using claw-stalker against invul or granite.. since they are even a less threat.. some sets just cant manage to kill other sets
  3. Port Oakes:

*Check ur map for the marconi-marker.
*slightly east of it, is a very tall building with arachnos banners on it. (once u find it, u realize that u are stupid that has missed it )
*at the east side of the building, there is a couple of doors u can open. inside the registrar stands.
  4. well, we ran a few tests when it was bugged, and one of the most destructive moves to stability was for attackers to form teams, lol.. if attacking side kept to soloing, it was alot more stable for some reason
  5. ive been curious about this myself, but im sure, few VGs are that interested atm.. but im more than willing to test it and see if they got it working tho

    Power boosting?

50 hours?? yay.. that cant be too far off true 7.5 mill is a big chunk of cash.. but atleast its reachable... it means we can have a plan and a goal =P and it will be worth every penny.. considering i got 15 hours alone on my main, and we got severa sirens/WB junkies it wont be too long lol... thx for the info, max

    Power boosting?

    1)
for several months now, i have had the issue where i cant expand base more (equipment-wize) due to lack of power. ofcourse another build would mean less energy consumed, but is there anyway (locked component i suppose) we can get a energy-boost that is more interesting the the pointless +150 energy added by circuit breaker? we got dozens of diff alternatives when it comes to boosting our control, but none when it comes to energy.

atm im having 1 turbine generator + 2 circuit breakers... my control is maxed out as well, but that could easily be fixed if i could get more juice to power the +Control equipment... so far the only solution i came up with is to upgrade to secure plot (yay, cheapest secure plot is 11.25 mill) and add a 2nd turbine...

I must say that if this is the only way, the devs really need to re-think the base consume/produce ratio, since there is no way to build a base of larger magnitude with the present tools.

    2)
what is the real point in AES-system? it produce alot of control, but eats tons of energy. it cant take aux (like mission computer). and for that price i could think of several diff ways to generate same amount of control, for less energy, and be able to connect my mission comp... i havent placed this unit yet, but i built it, and it looks like ill put it in the back of my personal items where other useless eqipment lies, never to be placed is there some 2ndary usage or effect im unaware of regarding AES, or is it just another of the odd stuff u can buy, that is not really worth its price?

note: i think there is one even greater energy producer than Turbine Generator (any1 know what to do to unlock it?) but still, we should be able to boost production as we can with control.

    The 50s thread

nope, no doms.. im doing my dom after my MM, tho.. and i fear that he might be one of the 1st doms that hit 50.. but since Football WC starts today, who knows.. i know ill be alot less online from now on =/

    The 50s thread

i know several ppl are 42 as of now.. i dinged 42 about 11 am and will most likely be 43 before i midnight.. tho i should remind all its a long way to 50, and most (i reckon 90%) that seems strong at this point will drop up to lvl 45, where only the most intense can keep up.. looking in team-search isnt the best way tho.. since most lvl-leaders usually plays in hide to avoid team-requests and other chatts...

even tho i was in top-5 to reach 40, i can say i wont be for 50.. im one of the few computer-geeks that like sports.. and tomorrow and 1 month ahead ill be whatching 2 games every day and loosing alotof good XP-time lol (yes, im talking about football WC)

    GL on hitting 50 folks..

Edit: i must say im impressed of 44.7 (unless u getting 'Help' from hero-friends) that is twice the XP im doing, or time =P guess i have to tell my GF im not so insane after ll.. ther are thoose that are alot worse
  10. Welcome guys. please check out Union Leaders I hope this will be of interest for u, and help u to get established
  11. well, for the time being, kosmos actually have a DM/Fire Brute (may not be the best choice for PvP, but fire armor is good enough imo.. just DM thats a bit weak...) but as he makes a new brute, he can learn the basics in team-play as a brute with that toon.. that is if Kos wants to play brute that is
  12. sounds like fun, tho i think having a set team for the test-servver event could be good.. since there will be good teams on spot, and u can actually get 1st rate traning... i would like to see some ppl actually posting an interest for a team like this =P
  13. yea, tho i think as we open up a free event like this, its impossible to avoid the impatient and thoose uninterested in team-work.. team work is a huge issue as i see it too.. when i play targetter i usually see 1 or 2 going for my target, making DPS too low and allowing targets to escape.

in team with multiple ppl using debuffs/holds its prolly the best to leave targetting to the MM.. as i see it MMs has good view of the battle, and has the time to be selective with targets and oppurtunity even to detect stalkers...

i spoke to Max about this and i was thinking we should make 1 or 2 elite-teams that are set and train against eachother on regular basis.. this will be the best way to actually train the team-skill.. EVIL has a SG-pentad team that showed up last time, and it had alot of the team-skill, since i suspect max is whipping them pretty good on just that aspect... for thoose that would join this, RL-personality weighs heavier than AT or PvP-skill imo.. unles some1 has the ability to submiss to ranks and leadership for the benefit of team-effort, there is noway a team can excel and be really good.. skill can be tought and trained, but team-work attributes are linked to personality... perhaps we can set up 1 team for next week and se how it works... since Doms are rare, i wont mind using mine, since i think he has both fields covered (blaster/controller) but do need a respec to adapt travelpowers in PvP, but ill try to fix that before next week. i wouldnt mind seeing a good brute with taunt for once.. (my brute wont be ready for PvP untill lvl 50)
  14. nice turnup last night, and i hope it will keep this up.. now i tested my therm corr in both RV and arena, and so far id say its working as planned.. died once in 2 matches and was able to heal/buff pretty good.. team was a bit spread out at times which made it tricky.

I would like some reflections tho, from both sides, on how much effect this corr has tho.. in theory its massive, since i can perma-forge 3 ppl and keep thaw on entire team + shields and heals... but will this actually turn the battle and result in victory in a way that other corrs couldnt or is te sets really minor issue, and just the fact that i was alive the most important part?

since we lack doms in this training, im gonna respec my Dom to fit PvP, and bring him next week..
  15. GL on DoVS.. they could use some help na.. serious, i hope u like them.. and if u dont.. remember 1 thing... in Violatos swedes always get special treatment

    gött mos
  16. well, i cant see any reason why not.. its fun and educational... i will atleast be there, and im sure a few other will be as well... so dont hesitate to swing by.. we usally send a reminder through UL just before we start... see u there
  17. perhaps, but in CoV there is a few things that actually sux atm, that CoH lacks mob-wise

CoV dont have enough story arcs and no hazard areas.. this means paper missions (that every hero envys) force u to fight alot of CoT at a very low lvl, and over ad over again.. CoT is a very, very, very common foe in CoV and that is no fun since they are really wicked...

CoV respec is imo alot harder than CoH.. i rarely fail it, but its still very tough (and yes ive done both many times enough to have an oppinion) and fighting CoT in a respec aint fun (just as the lvl 44+ in CoH is a pain with ritkis) but we hace CoT in both lvl 24-33 and 34-43

for some reason CoV has odd mob-spawns.. they like to be close to doors, both inside and outside.. that isnt as common in CoH (most has ben removed from mission doors) in CoV this is very common, especially at later lvls. (and heist-missions that always has mobs close to door inside of mish)
  18. well, i see no issues with my SG not being helpfull enough. we love to team, and regular team are always more preferred than random clutz's... and yea, most advanced bases are locked, but im sure thats mainly to spite other top-SGs (most of the bigger SGs are Coalitioned with eachother) and im sure that if asked, the leader of various SG will give u a walkthrough of his base (using the team-allowed opition) so that a lesser SG can learn and get tips. (only speaking for myself, but im sure most leaders feel the same way)

the things i see smaller SGs can benefit from is:
    1) members get a wider social network, helping u to get info and teams. even to simple questions as what lvl is... and how do i... and is this a good power... i know my SG always use coalition chat 1st hand when trying to get teams/members and avoid broadcasting if possible, so this is a good way to get into theese teams. not saying any smaller SGs have less skilled players, but thoose that are less skilled, can get good game experience and learn a few tricks along the way.

    2) members will more easily get info on badges and similar, as they can a) ask through coalition b) be asked to join in on badge-farming teams.
    '
    3) leaders can get a view of a bigger base and see good/bad examples of building one. this is the way i learned that u could ie change color and lighting in the base, making it less sterile and more cozy/tactical

we all hope that smaller SGs take this oppurtunity, and use our experience and perhaps avoid some of the cracks that we already fell into... and devils henchman (btw new leader of OoR), u could perhaps take on a smaller SG as well, and give it a shot (since OoR is a big SG). Even tho ur new as leader, im sure u got alot of experience regarding the game.. and if u want help with the base, Union Leaders is alwasy open for u (u'll get an invite as sson as i can) and if u want, i can give u a tour of our base i also intend to do an enquiery and see if the new/small SGs actually liked the effort and if they thought they learned anything.. if they all say its no point, or we suck at helping, then we wont anymore lol.. atleast we tried
  19. well, we did try some various PvP-builds on test, and actually, it was very disturbing trying to lead a bunch of hyper-active ppl, crazed about being able to 'bump' to lvl 40... i find it has some serious testing flaws, such as actually being familiar with the sets u have and its performance (the regular skill u get when lving). i did some dif sets mostly based on sets i know from before, and i can say my sonic/thermal (defender style) fas really great and hardly died at all. tho, its hard to see how much it helped, since either we where 4 villains against 20 heroes, or the other way around.. the only real testing was how good the build was on surviving lol.... anyway... c ya tuesday =)

it should be added that 80% of heroes where spines/* scrappers and 10% stone tanks, villain side wasnt much better with 60% elec/elec brutes and 20% thug-MM and 10% stone brutes.... some ppl dont have the imagination or skill to try something diff lol... still was fun tho
  20. actually, i find hollows to be the perfect training area. This is good place for new players to learn to master the art of team-play (since AT/powers has low effect) and to respect non-white targets. It should be noted (and many devs have in the past) that Hollows is a 'Hazard Area'. By statesmans own grand vision of hazard areas, no1 should enter them without a team to back u up. no1 is supposed to be sprinting solo through Hollows. this goes for all Hazard areas. (though hollows and Perez Park are the toughest due to lack of travel power)

If a player feels he cant take on hollows solo (which is strongly reccomended that he dont) he can alwasy do some quiet, relaxing sprinting in Galaxy or Steel Canyon.

and btw, if u are observant enough and do it enough times, u learn the spawn-spots of most mobs. this way u can safely sprint through entire HOllows at minimum risk... and yes.. i have sprinted solo to the 'CoT-mountain' several times, avoided CoT and Pulmecites easily at lvl 5-10 without any kind of stealth or invis or speed boosters... just as easy as sprinting a lvl 1 to Peregrin Island
  21. tuesday?? i take it the PvP training is off then =P i guess i could join for this instead
  22. sounds pretty harch.. it might just be a freaky coincident.. tho i can admit that never on my 18 months of CoX and surely 50-70 alts i made, i never seen a 'twin' out there, costumewize.... Names ive been stolen of, but again, i doubt it has been a copy-cat, but more a freaky coincident.. ie i got: .Dr Death and Lady Death as alts on CoV.. and ive seen another player with the same two alts: Dr De'ath and Lady De'ath lol.........

and yea.. if it now is regarding a copy-cat.. be proud.. u are a rolemodel and inspiration of others.. not really a reason to get upset about unles this person actually claims to be u and drag ur reputation through the soilpipes lol
  23. Count me in as well for sat morning. send me a tell to remind me tho

    Union Leaders

consider it done, m8! Violators will be there to defend Villains reputation.
  25. the reason for MMs getting too high scores are easy.. they dont get killed and target flees when injured, not after putting attack/buff... i used my MM in tons of diff ways in PvP, and when fighting big numbers, MMs are great at killstealing, or better put: finisher. ur own team will wear out the target to a point where he flees. as he flees, melee usually cant get to him, and ranged (like corrs) only get 1 shot before hes out of range (or LoS). Using bots, this is the perfect time to strike. Ur pets wont loose eye-contact (since its AI) and will fire multiple attacks and deal massive DoT/stuns making it hard to predict. its pertty hard to shake off bots and when u think u have, they sneak up from behind and take u by suprise. in conclusion this means that MMs arent bad in anyways, but really strong in getting kills, the team otherwise usually miss (note i said usually). So even if the MM alone cant do his kill numbers justice, he provides team with alot of kills, team otherwise would be without.

However, the MMs awesome precision in getting kills can easely be crushed, by simply attacking the MM. even tho u might not kill him, u distract him, making pets fight blindfolded and unefficient. most often the MM will also retract his pets to defend him (and if the attacker is a melee, this can take alot of time for the MM) and this will lower his (and teams) killrate.

this isnt 100% applying to all situations.. but in my experience, no matter how u play, or team strength, this is the common result. a MM that can act freely, will go on a killing spree, and out-score any other AT. (in general, alot of exceptions out there)
