Hopefully, Dr Death can flesh out some of my worries as the highest prestige earning group around. I'm sure he keeps a good record of how much prestige comes in each week and how much rent is so may be able to tell us how long until he reaches the point where rent overtakes prestige.

well, atm we re paying 61% rent from the pres we are making in 2 weeks =O next payment is 800k ish!! but is im sure i mentioned in aprevious post somewhere, i think it actually might be a functional system where the base never will outgrow the SG, even tho its been active for 3 years? since rent is deducted from SG-networth, this means ur SG will never reach a minus-situation, but will be able to reach a standstill vs rent. i can see why this is a factor that upsets ppl since it means they will have to scale down base size once the limit has been reached, and then stop evolving. The only real issue with this, is that when ppl stop caring about the base since it dont evolve or gets new stuff) ppl loose interest and that can have some bad mood surging through an SG crippling it even more.
I heard they are looking at rent it self and is thinking about lowering it, and that sounds good. mind u, that it should take some time before an SG reaches their networth cap of they can keep a steady development in activity (as longas the SG isnt deteriorating, it should take by my estimates 12-18 months* before a SG of any size will reach its cap, tho smaller SGs have a possibility to expand, while big SG wont.)
* in 9.5 months We made 2/3 of our cap, in a total of 14 months we shuld have reached a standstill unless the SG drops in activity or we will start to boost pres-making (several powergrinders or PL-ers). This equation also apply to smaller SGs, if they stand in a constant growth, and dont expand. (ie a SG with 20ish ppl, happy the way things are)

The sad thing is that the end result of of being highest prestige earners about is that people don't really want to raid them anymore as the defences in there tear most raiders apart before they even zone

Weel, actually ppl shouldnt fear the numbers.. the HP-boost to equip has changed the way of baseraids alot. they also threw in a few other *unknown* suprises with i7 that actually makes alot easier to enter a base (and makes static defenses like turrets almost a waste of space)
Tho overall bases are harder to defeat nowdays, it is now more of a question of PvP skill (more similar to Arena). im still trying to test a few things out (but raids are, as said here, hard for us to come by) but it appears that the entire Assault team tactics is very diff from other forms of PvP. Brutes/tanks used as ganking party dont seem to have any effect anymore, but more the kind of ideas and creativity of RSF-teams... which ofcourse needs some serious training/tactics to be able to avoid mass-ganking, but im working on a formula, and if any base is willing to test their defenses, we will be happy to raid ur base atleast. =) -
hehe.. well, since ive killed granites before, id say Dominators a good choice.. a few nice attacks to build dom up, them call him names while u go domination on his behind
-
hmmm.. did some1 say no PvP-specced Doms??? U know im 1st one there to hold/kill brutes/tanks with a huge smile
Id say im gonna talk to kinslayer(PvP officer in Union Leaders) sometime this week and see if we can set this all up (im a bit pressed for time atm). dont worry.. this event will soon hit our streets and revive the PvP on Union again -
hehe Do i even have to sign up? u know my relations to HOs and u know how avaible i am.. just show me in where u can fit me m8
-
i got a heal/end and dmg/mez i will trade for dmg/acc or defense/tohit buff, end reduction (syntethic cytoskeleton exposure)
-
well, secure plots arent that much harder to defend if u ask me its alot easier, than if u max out ur 1 generator and get 1 or 2 circuit breakers.. since they should (cant confirm) be alot easier to destroy, and would tip ur energy production below consumtion, and therefor render ur base without any power. (if u excceed ur production, its not a few things out of order, its all)
and that u need secure plot to hold more than 1 IoP actually make some sense...
Scenario: 1 SG of 30-40 members aquires 5 IoP, resulting in having their base open for raids 5 days/week.. adding RL-obligations, work/school, fact that not all ppl will be daily players with 5 hours/player.. there is no way this SG would be able to defend them selves more than once/week. An SG taht can accumelate 30+ mill pres should be active enough to defend their base from attacks.
The fact that they tend to attatch big bases to high-pres earners to alot of IoPs is actually a good way to have SGs stay in their place, so to speak.. no SG will be able to be stronger than the actual activity within the SG permitts
Regarding the max plot on 137 mill.. IIRC the math said 80-90 mill before ur rent will become suicidal... we have the cheapest secure plot (duh) and that 'only' cost 11 mill.. and with the fact that we didnt have the smallest hidden plot, it cost us 6 mill in cash. but worth it if u ask me.. our base has been in bad need of power for a long time -
lol, im pretty sure they said before i7 3 onths ago
-
secure plots does not allow more turrets in anyway. just as previously suspected, we have taken the expensive alternative, and gotten the secure plot and 2 turbines in order to support our heavy energy consumption... Sevure plot allows only to have 2 main producers (control/energy) and im also sure u can have x2 battery units as well.
and yea.. only 2 aux is allowed / turbine, and that sux since the enrgy output on circuit breakers are really weak, and so far i dont know of any craftable items that can replace their function, with better performance.
And for usage of having 2?? i guess 1 idea would be to have 1 backup generator (if u dont need the extra juice), tho since the HP-boost on equip, i dont think that would be needed anymore (i had that plan in i6, as things where alot more squishie, and a backup gen would help alot) -

Okay I have a +Acc buff -Def Buff and ACC+ HO up for swaps, who has what HOs for a potential trade =)
[/ QUOTE ]
Im pretty sure that should be: tohit debuff, def debuff, increased acc, m8.. just wanted to point that out
(lysosome: tohit and defense debuff, increased accuracy) -
well, i can safely say we spent well over 50 hours in PvP zone in SG-mode, but havent unlocked it yet, so im sure its still bugged.. which btw, bridger, we would be glad if some1 would look into (after 2 mails ignored), since we actually need that generator

Scorpions suprise: high lethal dmg, gets unlocked after ur SG has defeated Lord Recluse (last mish of any patron arc) 10 times. i testd it the other day and the numbers are as follows with 8 dmg and 2 recharge
Dmg-type: Lethal
Dmg at lvl 50: 6 ticks og 46.25 = 276 total
Recharge: 45 secs
Effect: has been said to have an AoE effect, but i only tested it on a single target, so i cant confirm its AoE. It does however deal hold of some sort (might be sleep). target said he got disoriented, but didnt show the normal effect of it (staggering around) but looked more like sleep or similar to the 'vomit' holds.
compare this to Elite Energy Beam turret that deals at lvl 50: 194 dmg with 4 dmg (dunno recharge rate).
im guessing devs forgot to tell us the turrets got nerfed, since at lvl 40 EEB would deal 100 dmg more, against 10 lvls less HP, so its one massive nerf on turrets btw.. just so u know -
meh, i should have explored hero-version of the boards sooner BJB, u can sign me up for all RSF's listed this week, where u can fit me...
-
if u ask me, id say nukes arent even needed.. and tbh.. i dont know why we where so strong last time.. if u count the numbers and stats on the power we had (dark maisma, Thermal, FF) as only buffers/debuffers its impossible to achive that kind of play that we did.. but something tells me, its more than sets.. its the knowledge and skill on how to use ur insps, for one.. dont use more than u need, and keep em rolling (+def) from my extended time as a wolf-herder on CoH i learned to hear when i took too many hits and started using insps to reduce the accumelating stun-effect. my Dominator can take 3 mobs lvl +3s LB's solo and survive (where most squishies would fear 1), coz of experience in how to play the char, sets, insps, and aggro management. by moving a certain way u make baddies act/move a certain way, use preferred attacks and more.. (not saying im better than any1, alot of ppl can do this, but far from all) and im sure PvE-skills like this has a proven quatlity in RSF. I used better theoretical team-configs for RSF and got halted at vindicators, and the team we had was really weak in debuffs/buffs, and still we only used 3 nukes in total and 5 or 6 shivans. and completed the SF in under 3 hours.. tho, we where a bunh of very experienced players, and most of us done RSF several times, even a few together, enabling us to know and be familiar with eachothers tactics, movement and game-type/skill, and that has proven to me several times in CoX to be very important for team-performance.
i would reccomend more SG-RSF-teams where ppl actually dont use their main, but the best char for the deal.. and dont give up.. its from the misstakes we do, we learn.. i made RSF 6 times and only won 2, but its mostly coz i like to test things, and some of the team-configs has been very bad (obviously lol) but i feel its important to learn at what minimum capacity one need to achive to win, so one can keep as many spots possible open on the RSF-teams for random ppl, and still be able to win. (one thing i learned is u need not more than 6 key-Sets to win, and thats 2 open spots for gimped toonsperhaps it can be done with only 5 or less, and that would be good, eabling even thoose that took an MM or stalker as main to get the badges and join the HO farms
well, completely off topic bty now, but thats my analysis of it all so far -
im deffo up for both thursday and saturday (ill send a tell to two fist myself to let him know).. tho if we are bring a 2nd MM, perhaps 1 of my other alts would be better, not sure which one, since they are all about pure dmg, and no buffs (unlike my MM) and so far it seems that buff/debuffs are more important than dmg-output :/ so any suggestions on what would be handy is welcome:
Grav/Fire/Letithian Dominator - Massive dmg and tons of holds (if u count DPS over a longer time of period its insane)
Fire/Fire/Scorpion Brute - Massive dmg (as always with fire), not sure, but prolly higher DPS than ur regular EM-brute. Has taunt.
EM/DA Brute - Again, massive dmg, can take just as much beating as my fire brute, but also has the nice massive res to Psi which stones hatemay or may not have taunt, only lvl 45 atm, and not sure if ill be ableto get taunt before the SF.
or ill just come by with my MM and give u all a nice +Def boost -
well, on my hero-account (based on US-servers) i already have close to 40-50 HOs on all my chars put togehter, as my PvP-char (stone/EM tank) has about 30 of them, making him somewhat impossible to defeat
and transferring him wouldnt be that hard lol......
But sure there might be complaints, but so far, he RSF isnt that easy.. we did it in 3 hours last time, even with failed pulls, but it was mainly coz we had a team full of very experienced players (it wasnt the sets that caused the win imo) and skilled PvE-players are more likely to win it.. compared to Hami where skill isnt needed (and i did most of my raids with a tank, which is useless agasint hami) where all u really need is numbers (and of course a good raid leader), id say that RSF is alot harder in some ways, and Hami only takes 2 hours, where RSF can take up to 6-10 hours if team is having a bad day.. if RSF took 2 hours every time, i could run 3 every day easy
Also take into consideration that Heroes already got tons of HOs and already has their share of spec Hamidon-chars, as we have to catch up both in making RSF-toons, and in earning HOs.. seems pretty fair to me tbh, if we can make more efficient farms than heroes can. i made 6 RSF's so far, and still havent gotten waht i need (drewling on BJB's Acc/Mez)
eihter way, im always up for trading.. as many others Acc/Mez and dmg/Acc are thoose i want.. but ill return later when i have a more usefull list of HOs myself to trade with -
yep 3 hours of incredible fun... not sure how we managed to become so elusive with only 1 dark cor and 1 FF (and tons of leaderships) but i only took 1 hit on the 1st 3 AVs in the last mish... and dont think i took any against vindicators..... and btw.. u can scratch the bot-support from my 'duty'. after doing RSF 6 times i can safely say, that MMs primary set is totally useless against FP and serve no purpouse what so ever...
unfortunately this means we know can confirm 2 gimped ATs against RSF (even tho we had 1 of both in this team lol) Stalkers and MMs. -
i actually agrea as well.. It would be ebtter to make SG-rumble in the arena every week instead.. where innocent ppl dont get cought in the crossfire of skilled SG-PvP-Teams. Tho i have to say once/week is a bit much, since im sure im not the only one that is having issues with fitting events in every day of the week, and trying to manage to have a RL as well.. perhaps once/month would be better, and wouldnt make it trivial after a few times.
Perhaps Kinslayer (who is PvP-officer in Union Leaders) might to think about that a bit and work up a plan for it? -

Hmm... don't worry about me, not getting any team together... my main problem all the timeHow did you manage to get 8 people so fast? Barely getting any response myself.
Always up for that strike force by the way.

Hey m8.. im always up for extra triestoo bad vecation time is on me, so im spending more time with family, then normally.. but in a few weeks, ill be there.. running 2-3 RSF's/day if i can find the teams... prolly gonna run 4-5 RSF 9-10th aug... again.. if i can get the teams that looks promising.. ill make a post about it sometime late this week, so heads up for 2 days of RSF-fun
BTW, if there is any hard-core players out there matching this team-config, i dont mind starting the 1st RSF at 7-8 am.. so send me a global tell so i know if that would be possible to get a RSF-team that early -
well, u know im always in the mood for winning this SF lol... even tho i lack the listed sets at 45+ atm, i still have 1 good team-effect that i can bring to the party
(alot of +Def as u already know, which is atlaest as good as -acc, and since its personal buffs, they dont vanish when/if i die
)
Ill show up as usual at tuesday -
i think it may... i tested to bubble turrets and equip. and that works.. so its possible that most buffs sticks on them. but tbh, im only guessing
-
well, 1 way to think... what u like themost in a character? recharge (relay), end reduction (transform), Damage, Accuracy... etc.. we all have diff oppinions on whats most effective... since they all are... but mind the way u slot ur powers.. u slot for 1 dmg, 1 end red, 1 recharge? no.. u focus on 1 thing and do that all out
i use 4 dmg-boosters.. i can see alternatives like 3 dmg, 1 acc.. but i put most effect in dmg..
-
er.. ok.. 2 things are discussed here, and i think ur all wrong
1x2 squares is enough to fit 1 workbench, 1 salvage rack, 1 enh storage (not the insp storage tho) even if the room has 2 doorways (ie a corridor). dont complain about stuff that actually is a great solution.
Rent: very hot debate. i can see a very usefull reason for paying rent, regarding gamequality, but i do agrea we pay it to often/too much. as i have led 1 SG in CoH, and 1 in CoV during my time in CoX (oct 2004-)and both been 2 huge SGs, i can say that even large SGs tend to risk withering and abandonment if its not ru actively and with comitment. it takes for a full SG 3-6 months to virtually die, if its not taken care of. The purpouse of Rent (if i am to read between the lines) would be to avoid big SGs that has shrunk in size/activity to control a big base. as u no longer can afford the rent as ur SG slowly gets inactive, u have to sell off rooms/equip, to make it work.. therefore ur SG will always have a base that is suited for the activity/size of the SG. at most we earned in Violators 1.2 mill/week for a short period of time, and as lowest, we been down to 600k/week.. if we where to stuck on our low-mark, we wouldnt be able to expand much more, since we at this point pay aprox 650k in rent... if we where to stick to our high-mark, we would be able to pay for a twice as large base.. and im sure no1, wants to raid an outdated, dying SG, that 'used' to be strong.. since the base would defend itself, not bothered how many active members actually control the SG at that point.. and that would be wrong.
Rent forces us to adapt base-size to SG-activity as SGs has a history of having their ups and downs. but as i said earlier. the rent might(?) be too high or too frequent.
note: regarding having the 3rd to best plot-size and founding it......... i can see why for RP-reasons.. but tbh.. thats one major big base to defend in a raid.. and i cant see how that would be succeeded with only 16 defenders. we have 12x16 square base, and i will not go above 16x16 since it would be impossible to defend.. i even doubt ill get that big.. 12x16 fits our needs perfectly (tho 16x16 might be prefferred by thoose that choose to make diff layout) -
since my GF is on vecation and home nagging on my game-time all the time, i can tmake promises, but ill do my best to show up for both
-
well, idea is good, but not a very exclusive SG would reside on a roof top like pigeons lol.. thoalternative locations would be neat.. like real caves and sub-water.. or the fra-fetched idea of having ur base inside a NPC-building.. with ur SG-banners outside.. tho i guess PO and mercy would fast be running out of free buildings pretty fast
-
well, im a raid-junkie, so count me in.. and if u want, i could draw up a base as well, but i think every1 will be interested in that job, so i dont mind letting some1 else have a go.. we should make sure the team is set atleast 1 week before tho.. so we can set up tactics.. in my experience tactics does alot of diff, and when ppl disregard it or go medieval, they usually loose the raid
