Fusion Generator and Advanced Holodisplay
well, i can safely say we spent well over 50 hours in PvP zone in SG-mode, but havent unlocked it yet, so im sure its still bugged.. which btw, bridger, we would be glad if some1 would look into (after 2 mails ignored), since we actually need that generator [img]/uk/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
i know kit has probibly spent 50 hours alone in pvp zones pluss what i spent in rv over the past few months and we dont have those plans unlocked either so maybe ther eis more to it or it is just buged might be worth waiding thru the american forums for an answer on this one as we are very unlkikly to get a red name answer here on eu

It's been confirmed as bugged a few times(I think if you go to the US site and click on known issues, it actually shows up there). I also petitioned it a while ago and got a response saying it was a known issue.
I also saw an attempted fix appear on the test server a while back but then it got removed when they had to rush the Recluse SF exploit one through IIRC.
I'm guessing it's just a low priority as so few are in a position where they actually need it.
Ok. Generator most probably bugged. Hopefully, issue will be fixed by the time we NEED it.
Now what about the Advanced Holodisplay? Any information on that anyone? pretty please. Did search of forums but could not find anything. [img]/uk/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I've got this on my VG and it shows up fine but as it's a load of rubbish and not worth the prestige or salvage needed, i've never made or placed it. IIRC it only supplies a little bit more control than some of the auxhilliary items you don't need to unlock and eats up a lot more power so was just not worth putting in.
You need to win 10 raids to unlock the badge and I suspect these have to be official IoP raids rather than instant raids. I know for a fact my VG has not even taken part in 10 raids let alone won 10 so we must have got the badge through a bug.
Here's what you need to make it
Expert Worktable
Tech Material - 4
Tech Power - 11
Tech Prototype - 8
Experimental Tech - 2
As for the Fusion Generator, IIRC, the Turbine one allows unlimited auxhilliary connections and you would also need one of the largest power rooms to fit the Fusion one in anyway, meaning a plot upgrade, room upgrade and the generator itself. Given that the generator alone costs 7 million and you're probably looking at another 3million for the room big enough to put it in, I think that's a long way off being needed for most of the groups out there.
Sorry Kin but the Turbine Genny only allows 2 aux [img]/uk/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] (Note you can place as many as you like in the room - but only 2 will be "attached" at any one time - the rest are doing diddly)
I'm with Doc Death here - D&VS is maxed out for power now - there are 2 options:
1) - got to a secure plot which allows 2 generators and put in a second fusion. Cost: 11 Million for the plot plus whatever the generator is (I believe this is what Violators have done - not that I've been snooping at all [img]/uk/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] )
2) - fix the bug that's preventing fusion genny badge from working and then we can stick with non-secure plots. Cost: 7 Million for the generator plus 900k for an energy room large enough to pop it in.
Personally I'd rather save that 4 million seeing as the only benefit secure plots offer is the ability to have 2 generators and 2 main control items. Seems like a(nother) slightly unthoughout piece of the base puzzle - hey ho!
Secure plots allow for turrets to be placed in most rooms, or is that the placement of secure rooms which allows the turret placements?

secure plots does not allow more turrets in anyway. just as previously suspected, we have taken the expensive alternative, and gotten the secure plot and 2 turbines in order to support our heavy energy consumption... Sevure plot allows only to have 2 main producers (control/energy) and im also sure u can have x2 battery units as well.
and yea.. only 2 aux is allowed / turbine, and that sux since the enrgy output on circuit breakers are really weak, and so far i dont know of any craftable items that can replace their function, with better performance.
And for usage of having 2?? i guess 1 idea would be to have 1 backup generator (if u dont need the extra juice), tho since the HP-boost on equip, i dont think that would be needed anymore (i had that plan in i6, as things where alot more squishie, and a backup gen would help alot)

Equipment/base items.
Before the I7 HP/Defence boosts on items, a second generator made sense as the enemy would have to find and destroy two. Now that they're so much tougher to take down, having two just means you need to split your defences more to monitor them.
Yup - and not just that but given that some of us now NEED the power from 2 generators to run the base (until we can get fusion generators) then the problem remains that if you lose one in the raid then you're basically in trouble as you'll lose half your power and your base will, at least partially, power down.
So secure plots are, for the moment, the only way to expand but a huge expense that shouldn't be necessary.

From US Patch notes:
Unsecure Base Plots are now limited to 1 Item of Power. Secure Base Plots are unchanged (there is no artificial limit to the amount of Items of Power a Secure plot can contain).
So basically we've been screwed over again here - now if we want more than one IoP we have to go for the stupidly expenisve Secure plots. Seems like a silly way round to change this without fixing the fusion generator issue first. Hey ho.
Is there even one SG, in Europe or in America, that's managed to afford the massive secure complex? 137 million Prestige seems way, way too much, even for a big SG.

I'm pretty sure not - certainly not in Europe and I don't think in the US either. In fact I think I saw some math which showed its impossible to get it as there would be no way to generate enough prestige to cover the rent with a SG of 75 [img]/uk/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] Don't hold me to that though as I don't have the link.

Well as most of you know they are supposed to be permanently upping the rate of prestige earning so that might make things a bit more affordable.
Then didn't Bridger say something about them examining base rent too?
Or at least let us trade in the old plot when we upgrade - that'd slash the cost a whole lot.

You can do that? If you have a 1 mill plot and want to get the 2 mill plot, you only need to have 2 mill in available prestige to get the next one up as it counts your surrent 1 mill plot cost towards it AFAIK
Yes that's how it works now - if you have a plot worth 4 and you want one that costs 6 you need only pay 2 more for it - so your old one is automatically traded in.
I'll have a little look at the prestige calculations later on - see if I can work the maths on them (if I can't I won't tell me boss - I do a fairly mathmatical job!!) to see if a) the new 25% boost makes the big plots affordable or b) if we're still never going to get there....
Note the new patch notes though - from what I saw of the interview rent is going to be looked at with a possible change so that its defined by your plot size alone. We shall see.
well, secure plots arent that much harder to defend if u ask me [img]/uk/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] its alot easier, than if u max out ur 1 generator and get 1 or 2 circuit breakers.. since they should (cant confirm) be alot easier to destroy, and would tip ur energy production below consumtion, and therefor render ur base without any power. (if u excceed ur production, its not a few things out of order, its all)
and that u need secure plot to hold more than 1 IoP actually make some sense...
Scenario: 1 SG of 30-40 members aquires 5 IoP, resulting in having their base open for raids 5 days/week.. adding RL-obligations, work/school, fact that not all ppl will be daily players with 5 hours/player.. there is no way this SG would be able to defend them selves more than once/week. An SG taht can accumelate 30+ mill pres should be active enough to defend their base from attacks.
The fact that they tend to attatch big bases to high-pres earners to alot of IoPs is actually a good way to have SGs stay in their place, so to speak.. no SG will be able to be stronger than the actual activity within the SG permitts [img]/uk/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
Regarding the max plot on 137 mill.. IIRC the math said 80-90 mill before ur rent will become suicidal... we have the cheapest secure plot (duh) and that 'only' cost 11 mill.. and with the fact that we didnt have the smallest hidden plot, it cost us 6 mill in cash. but worth it if u ask me.. our base has been in bad need of power for a long time

Test server has the 25% extra prestige patch on it right now, and Positron mentioned the possibility of cost reduction nearing I8 along with the added possibility of no rent dependant on plot size. Bear in mind that when Posi mentioned this stuff he would already have been fully aware of the 25% increase patch being due to hit live imminently.
Just trying to find out:
1. As far as I understand the Fusion Generator plans are opened for 50 hours in PvP zones in SG/VG mode. Is this correct? Heard also this has been bugged. Is it still bugged?
2. How are the plans for the Advanced Holodisplay opened? I did not think that they had to be opened through SG badge; however, I can not find it anywhere on our workbenches [img]/uk/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
