Booger?
*gets a couple of gallons of coffee as the monks continue to chant*
Steampunk eh? Cool. Oh and could someone teach those monks something else to chant? -
Virtual XP does not support 3D or heavy graphics. Its not meant for running games.

Ok, here is the skinny.
XP pro 64 is like XP in the fact that it is in extended support from microsoft. Add on that there has never been a great demand for it, well I would stay away from it.
I lvoed XP, but I have really been enjoying Windows 7. Yes there is a learning curve, but I have old programs running on it beautifully. If its the way the OS looks that bothers you, well, I would take some time to jsut get used to it, because in the near future its gonna be the only choice outside of going Mac or Linux. -

Quote:I think the defining this is the World BAseball Classic, which the USA doesn't win anyway. The shame of it all was too much to bear for Canada and so they had to kick the Expos out of the country. The Expos/Nationals, Mariners and Rangers have never been to a world series. As well as a team from Mexico, Japan, Korea .... But we stole all their good players anyway so who really cares.

Quote:Dude, personally I'm glad that it is something that gives you great memories of your grandfather. Those are the best type of memories.ya know whats funny about it? theyve won 7 ws titles since the 70's...most of thier championships came from the 60's and before.
someone was telling me 'only 7 team photos are in color. most of thier titles were from 'history'.
and my grandfather, who's health continues to fail,,tells us stories of when he was a kid he'd go see Babe Ruth play.I even have a Babe Ruth jersey i wear all the time. so, when I think Yankees, I think Babe, Gherig, Mantle, Yogi, etc...
I think some of the stigmata is how the Yankees seem to get pushed down the throat at times (not always, and not consistent). The YES network winding up on cable stations all over the place and local teams ingored. The idea of how much money Steinbrenner has from the Yankees, while there are teams out there that are lucky to break even.
I grew up remembering the 70's and early 80's when I was a big baseball fan and constantly watching either the Dodgers or the Yankees in the series year after year. I rooted for Reggie Jackson and Dave Winfield. As the 80's went on into the 90's my love of baseball slipped to being casual, and the anticts of Stienbrenner really turning me off from the team.
The Yankees are a historically important team, and have had some great runs. I would have loved to have been able to see Babe Ruth play for either the Yankees or Red Sox.
Considering the Yankees do have the highest Payroll in Baseball, they do buy the championship, as long as the players they are playing act as a team. It is a bit of both. the Yankees can outbid any other team for talent, and that is another resentment from non-Yankees fans.
MYself, I saw Chicago win a world series in my lifetime and will enver forget that, because it will probably be the only one.
Enjoy the victory, and be happy for your team. BE happy for the memories, and the stories. We are happy you are happy. -
Quote:Unfortunately Pogo, there are a lot of people who just plane hate the Yankees. Its one of those teams you love or you hate, there is no in-between. Myself, I am one of the hates the Yankees, and really I should be happy that a lifelong Cubs player is the manager of the world series winners, but I"m not. I'm glad Girardi got a Ring, but the Yankees as an organization goes leaves a bad taste in my mouth.Well, I was hoping someone would want to join in my celebrating.
I tend to feel the same way about the New England Patriots in Football. Its just me. -

BOOGER!

Good Morning Everyone! Thankfully I"m not ticklish. -
First, I would not run them in compatibility mode, it will cause problems. Then the question is are you running CoH/V as Admin (right click --> run as administrator). I have found CoH/V needs to be run as Admin in Win7 to work properly.
Also what sound card do you have, and what video card do you have? Have you tried running in windowed mode? Are your drivers up to date? -
Fed go to this link

And watch the 3 part Opening Ceremonies Video. all will be revealed than can be at this time. -
I've isntalled some of the linksys N routers, and they have worked nice, esepcially considering they usually only have G cards.

Morning everyone! Did everyone have a good halloween weekend? -
Well, I'm a big fan of Kaspersky's 2010 Internet Suite (AV/Antispam/firewall). I have used it on XP, Vista and Windows 7 and have no issues with it and CoH, and it has a low memory footprint overall.

Quote:Ok, that makes sense, but only if you have a Full Version license, and I"m reading there are problems with some OEM XP licenses. It occurs to me that this may a simple case of you not quite understanding what you are reading.
Windows XP --> Windows 7 is a valid upgrade. It is supported by Microsoft.
However, the upgrade process moving from XP to 7 must be done using the Custom install option. The operating systems are so different that Windows 7 will not actually upgrade XP, it will replace it.
So, XP to 7 is allowed, legal, and can be started using the upgrade disk.
Actual upgrade process gives you a clean Windows 7 drive because XP cannot be directly upgraded to Windows 7.
Do you understand? -

Quote:http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Windows/Mic...670729/?kc=rssThis is incorrect. Upgrades for Windows 7 are legit for any previous version of Windows from XP up to Vista. As long as you have a valid previous OS key, the method I posted, and the method being used by the others in thread are completely legal.

Both say it is not supported or allowed according to Microsoft. Just because you can do it your way does not mean legal. -
Morning all. The Devil is in the details!
