ummm, i defense of the Devs, I shall make a few points on your points:
1) the Devs have done interviews, for I17, they were at Pax East where they announced stuff for I17 and Going Rogue.
2) the Dev's hands as far as promotion are actually tied unless Marketing gives them an ok
3) There have been screen shots of Ultra Mode going all the way back to HeroCon.
4) There have been abunch of write-ups about upcoming items in the CoH Universe on game sites over the last few months. Yes most of it is geared toward Going Rogue, which is a pay expansion and goign to be bigger than I17 is.
5) Well, I hope to see you in game and enjoy all the new goodies with you.

Unfortunately, I know a number of women who have play this game and have been r**ed in RL. Its not something to joke about or be taken lightly.
I would have silenced instead of kicking if I had seen that and had the power, but VU2010 last night seemed to have a bunch of people on edge overall.
And yes I have warned people in channels where I am an op to not used that word in certain fashions. Its all about contextl. -

Anyway, I had a feeling a lot of these concerns would come up. Here's how I understand it:
There's three types of events I'd like to see happen.
2. PVP for Casuals
This would be an event with less emphasis on stacked teams and more emphasis on casual players being able to take part without feeling left behind. This event will be aimed towards people with concept builds or PVE builds who'd like to try out PVP.
And knowing me. If I was involved in any of these events then they'd probably have a story behind them. (Well...except the first type I suppose.)
Right now VPVP is gauging how much interest there is for PVP on Virtue. Having a central place to organise & run everything PVP related will improve communication. That's what the VPVP channel is all about. If any of the above event ideas sound like the sort of thing you'll be interested in then feel free to join the channel or send me a tell in game to @Xanatos.
The prior 2 (Bloody Bay, and Siren's Call) have gone really well, with most people have a lot of fun with it.

also, Once a Month I'm doing my show from a PVP Zone (This month is Warburg). Mostly people who don't do a lot of PVPing, but turns into a lot of fun as we learn.
