  1. I know Ice has an AoE toggle that is -stealth, so if one had that aura and tactics, would it be possible to detect a stalker who had stealth, stealth IO, and hide?.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this by people, but I think this: Using an Assassination attack and missing will no longer suppress Hide (though lesser stealth and invisibility powers will still suppress) if the attack misses. If the attack hits, Hide suppresses normally. is somewhat excessive if this change is for PvP as well as PvE. If this has no effect on PvP, and only effects PvE, then ignore anything I'm writing, because I have no problems with it.
IMHO stalker need no extra help in PvP when it comes to being untargetable. They already get the 1st attack 99.9% of the time. Some will argue max perception > max stealth.
Seriously lol@ that. Even _if_ you are lucky enough to get on a team that has max perception granting ability in a zone, a stalker has to get like 10 ft from you before you can even see it. Even if you do have max perception, you will never find a stalker until they attack you. Believe me, I don't really have a problem with not being able to find them, stealth is what they are designed around. But making it even harder than it already is to even target a stalker after they attack you,( with extremely minmal risk to themselves I might add), seems highly excessive IMO.
Even though I'm sure the flames will still pour over this, just want it to be said, I _do_ know how to counter stalkers, I'm not some crying nub that doesn't know tactics. This just seems excessive to me, that is all.

    QFT

now I really love it if I miss an NPC and don't suffer for it, but as for PvP it doesn't make much sense to do it this way.
  3. I can't convince my friends because hardly any of them own a PC that can play the game.

You have to get to lvl 41 before you can experience for yourself if PPP's suck. How would this stop new players from entering the rogue isles?

    [/ QUOTE ]

People follow the rainbow because there is a pot of gold at the end.

    This is Villain side

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just have a hard time believing things that are said on the forums without checking it out myself.

The more I play villain side, the more I see that much of what is complained about, is exaggerated.

Except the thing where ambushes can see the stalker, something should really be done about that...

So of course the data in mid's with no other personal experience with PPP's, I say they are fine.
  5. [ QUOTE ]

    Sure:
    1. Get the villan population up: fix the glaring things that people have been clamoring for months and are the main cause of folks. PPPs, being one. PVP imbalances.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I doubt that the PPP's and PvP imbalances are what's keeping the villain population low.

You have to get to lvl 41 before you can experience for yourself if PPP's suck. How would this stop new players from entering the rogue isles?

PvP imbalances don't really show themselves unless you spend a heck of a lot of time PvPing. Not many people devote a ton of time to PvP before reaching 50.

I do agree with your other points, but that one just doesn't make sense to me.
  6. Huzzah! now I can solo Positron's TF like I wanted to.

My small SG themed around medieval Spain. We are looking for ACTIVE members, I play the game almost everyday and want to form a small group of active members who would be willing to participate in every aspect of the game. Mission teams, Task Forces, Trials, Badge Hunting, Farming, and PvP.

The base has salvage, inspiration, and enhancement storage, Invention table, personal salvage storage, a medbay, and four teleporters.

  8. corruptor could debuff the blaster into oblivion, especially a /rad
also when FoN goes away, so does all your end, how would you keep up PFF at that point? None of those resist mean a thing when you get perma mezzed, I had Force Mastery on my blaster before, and now I don't, I got an epic that mezzes the mezzer and helps to kill and it works a lot better. Cold mastery's "Hibernate" is a much better one to complain about, and Cold Mastery also contains a targeted AoE debuff in it. Force Mastery is not as awesome as people think. Blaster EPP=lose
    now controller EPP=win
  9. I actually think the devs love CoV better, the whole game is more streamlined, with less zoning, no "war walls", and all the zones are pre built with "Hazard" areas. Blue side needs a little more love, I would love to see an over arcing storyline to CoH where you are an actual longbow operative hero. This update would include new contacts and maybe one new zone, the whole thing could end up being really *epic*.

P.S. I hope Villain EAT's are better than Hero EAT's which are "meh" imo
  10. just addressing hazard zones here... CoV is a hazard zone

go from playing CoH only for months, then enter CoV, you get freakin assaulted everywhere you go! There are GM's that walk around looking to beat you down in the middle of the street. Let take hollows for example, you have a city part, and then you have a huge wrecked part, now look at mercy, port oakes, and a few others, it's like that in the normal CoV zones. Now go street sweep or something in your hazard zone.
  11. Wow... my two cents:
on arena, I beat the mess out of a DB brute with my elec/elec blaster. Without insps and without my travel power... He couldn't muster enough damage to take me out before I got him, and no I don't have aid self. It was sad to watch such pretty combos amount to nothing...

    Also come to test arena

He *is* adorable. Even if there were enough arrows in the world to fight a giant baby (which clearly there aren't) I don't think I could fire on him...too cute!

I fought a giant alien baby once... on the original half life, but he was anti cute
  13. not sure what you guys are talking about here, every time I get placated, it works, the person either runs, or hits me and gets another critical. Is it bugged that they get a critical when I can plainly see them? Even if I can no longer target them, they are quite visible...
  14. hmm Didn't realize that Lighthouse started at the same time as me(got my 12 month on 10/30/07), gratz LH!
  15. uh... yeah whatever... PvP is necessary to keep some interest, many people love competition. However too many players have never seen the inside of a PvP zone, and they wouldn't enjoy it. Not everyone likes getting thrashed 5 times in a row. Most of the people i play this game with do not PvP. Or they say "when I get to lvl 50 I'll give it a try" It really isn't as big a part of the game as the poster makes it out to be.

I do love PvP though, my main is a blaster and I get creamed all the time (mainly by those damned stalkers). I enjoy sneaking around and waiting till a villain engages one of my comrades and then come behind him with AIM+BU+snipe and taking half their health with one hit, causing them to die from my buddy. Of course thats kind of mean but because my toons are almost never PvP builds I really don't have a choice. It would be nice to see people playing themes instead of cookie cutter pvp builds but PvP is great fun and I would encourage anyone to take part.

Which brings me to the last thing I need to say. I always see more villains than heroes in PvP, ALWAYS! So I need some heroes to grow a pair and get out there to help! See you RV!
