My Kinetic/Shield Brute currently has one Performance Shifter as well as Miracle/Numina recover enhancements, but he seems to run out of endurance in longer battle still. That's why I am enticed to slot in more Performance Shifter. The Brute is only at level 38 though so I am not sure how much overkill it would be.

Quote:Thank you for your detailed answer. I will look into WP as my secondary. Too bad Quick Recovery is not there for Stalkers. I was hoping to quad Performance Shifter on Quick Recovery, Stamina, Superior Conditioning, and physical Perfection. (or is this a bad idea?)regen is clicky and it causes redraw which is an issue for both claws and DB.
/wp is higher performance by every metric. more survivability, more reliable, more passive healing, easier to plan a build, etc. Even has some DDR. consumes a bit more endurance but thanks to quick recovery that's not an issue. /WP is reliably counted as among the top 3 or 4 secondaries for melee classes by the best munchkins/minmaxers on the forums and by the numbers both Werner and Arcannaville have calculated purely objectively. On stalkers though, it is, I think if not the worst performing secondary, then the second worst despite being quite good for scrappers and brutes.
Regen relies upon the player to have the skill to anticipate need and use the powers proactively and intelligently. If you just click them all, you'll die alot. /WP is just toggle up and go kill things.
Regen also benefits strongly on scrappers and brutes, from the +hp in dull pain. On my scrappper that takes me from a base of 58 hp/sec into the 80s along with giving me capped HP, enough to absorb a whole extra crit from a cim boss or a vicky. for stalkers, you get functionally zero +hp, so no +hps either, and all it is good for is a big heal on a really crappy timer. As this represents more than 30% of the power of /regen's clicks (only IH is more important to long-term survival, MOG is just an alpha absorber and reconstruction is basically a reusable medium green) the loss of dull pain for stalkers is pretty crippling to performance of the set.
Now, Some people like the clicky nature of regen and the reliance upon skill. The better you play the better it performs. It rewards smart power decisions and that is what attracts a lot of people to stalkers in the first place. For them, regen is a great power. It is strong enough, even if inferior to other options. Combined with the IO right sets and primary it can do almost anything. /regen scrappers have solod the ITF and I'm pretty sure a regen stalker could too. Only the autohit aoe nictus would be a pain.
But unless the person is deliberately looking for a challenge, wp is always the way to go. And in particular, for weapon sets, the redraw is a huge reason to go wp. -

I like how Stalkers kill with one shot but lacks staying power to kill a group. It seems that Dual Blade and Claws have innate options to do a lot of cone/AoE. That said, I am thinking about building a Stalker with one of the two set and use /Regen or /Willpower to provide the health and endurance for long battle. Would this idea work?

What is everyone's biggest AS hit? My Stalker is far from 50 so I am very curious.

I apologize for all these questions. I use Mac so I cannot read your build via the planner program. Thx for posting it

Quote:That's a lot of endurance drain if all turned on O_O What is your endurance usage (passive abilities) and endurance gain, #wise? I use Performance Shifter and three End Mod on almost all my characters and still have trouble with endurance rapid firing skills + passives. Human Form Kehldian seems to have even more passives to worry about. And yeah, I like having them. Maneuvers is contributing to my Defense numbers, and it takes an LOTG 7.5% enhancement. Tactics is two slotted with recticle's for an s/l bonus, and Vengeance not only takes an LOTG 7.5% but also allows me to softcap my defense to all damage whenever a teammate dies.

Quote:Not sure if this is the same archetype as one of your other post: I remember you mentioned you have to devour blue inspirations when you play this kind of spec? This is just my personal experience... Granted, though, I don't feel Human Form is any more reliable on Break Free's in certain situations than Tri Form is reliant on purple inspirations in other situations- We can't kill things if we're stunned, you can't kill things if you're dead.

Can Dwar/Nova forms use Incarnate powers?
-
Quote:Hm, that's one thing I haven't thought about. So Forms have more dos or survival but Human form allow you to dps and survive?1.)
2.) More slots - You have more ways to get the defense bonuses you'd need to really skyrocket survivability.
In that case, is it possible to play multiple roles like a shapeshifting Kheldian just by being in Human form? -
So what is the main advantage of having Human form over other form in soloing this sort of mission? Is it the buff/heal granted by mass # of enemies when you use draining abilities?
-
Quote:Oh, so the diminishing return is based on the % of your current bonus, not how many you've got. Since two Single Origin enhancement almost always raise you above the first threshold at 70%, it's an unwritten rule that three enhancement is the limit. Thx for the clear up!
-
Quote:How does diminishing return on enhancements work with IO sets, if one particular stats (damage, acc, etc) appear more than three times in the set?I believe what you are asking is would 5 of a pet IO set squeeze out more than 2 Acc and 2 Dmg. The answer is yes. You get some benefit of the enhancement diversification limit being filled with multi-aspect IO sets. Extra benefit for endurance and the sixth slot for an option is viable.
-
Quote:Do IO sets enhancements, which often are two or more bonuses (like damage/end), do they suffer diminishing return like regular IO enhancements? For example, a Damage, a Damage/End, and a Damage/Acc, does the third one receive less Damage bonus? The protector bots can burn through a lot of endurance. I haven't noticed the drones or the assault bot using all their end. I most often six-slot my pets, all three classes. I also use the pet IO sets at level 25. With those sets you can usually max out acc, damage, and get a good bonus of end reduction. You can also max out your protector bots with 5 slots of a pet IO set and still have the sixth slot for a pure defense IO if you choose.
The regular IO pet sets are very affordable unless you are buying the defense and resistance bonus IOs.
Above question was also related to the guide: It says Drones should have 2~3 Acc slotted to make sure it can hit high level mobs, but that would certainly reduces the slots for IO sets as you would use. -
Quote:I think the guide updated that part. That guide is a little bit out of date: The devs added auto tp to pets if they get too far away from you so you don't need to worry about what travel you get any more. And also all pets cycle all their attacks now so they will all run into melee range.
Also, a question on endurance reduction: I've always added one for each of my pet but the guide says I should wait till I notice a high expense. I play Bots, they never had endurance problem AFTER I slotted the endurance reduction. Would they, if I remove the enhancements? -
If there's a thread that I can find answers to the following questions, please let me know.
1) Relationships of different enhancements: procs, recharge, and endurance reduction, with MM pets?
2) How about the incarnate powers in relate to pets? (the aforementioned types and others)
3) Set bonus and pets? -
Thx for the suggestions. I will give them a try tonight. My secondary is Electric.

Without a doubt Stalker can kill a single target mob easily, but I have trouble facing a large group of enemies, especially during farming/tips. Large group as in a group of 5+ or random ambushes in addition to what's standing there.
My Stalker is Dark Melee but I'm talking about Stalker in general. Inability to hide after killing one enemy or during ambush is a pain -
So how does Incarnate buffs affect pets? A lot of normal enhancements don't even work with pets (like proc) but sounds like they do with Incarnates?
Even thugs can fight for the future of Earth O_O -

Thanks for all the advices. Currently the gameplay is running smoothly. Question though: I am not sure how to keep my bots at permanent range position. I tried "All Stay" and "Go To" commands but once they start attacking they'd still run to the enemy and whack them. What should I do to keep them away?
