a stalker stalks, its what the AT does best and as such stealth is vital, dull pain is nice but ultimately not game breaking. I dont ahve heals or defence (aside from mez) on mnay of my stalkers
[/ QUOTE ]
I find this interesting as I got destroyed on another thread for suggesting stealth was a must have..and your name was used in argument against me -
Well every one is entitled to their opinion. however I do feel there is a touch of claiming black is white in order to put down the new boy.
Especially as just about every associated thread in the stalker section advocates the use of stealth but hey..I only have a lvl 50 stalker who I have put through all PvP zones so what do I know about it
But it is good to see the stealth no stealth debate bashed out again and I await the in-coming posts claiming Im rubbishhehe

Placate is a stalker's most important power not AS, if you don't realise this you'll do badly in PvP against most opponents, especially as level rises. Most stalkers haven't got the slightest idea about what their abilities actually are. Relying exclusively on AS and then complaining you can't use it 100% of the time is just a dead end. Think of it, where you actually have to learn to use more than one power...

Again missing my point.
not wanting to labour a point which is becoming severly off topic.
My point Is Stealth is needed to be competetive in PVP. How anyone plays there stalker is not a point of debate.
What I am trying to drive at is that the + perception arms race has made it mandotory for a stalker to choose concelment pool powers.
I could bang on about how divine avalanche is my greatest tool or how I killed joe bloggs 1 day but its a mute point as the topic under discussion is that of whether stealth is needed in sirens call.
Short answer is YES -
you miss my point.
The point being that we Have to spec in concealment to be viable in PvP.
I do recognise that some guys out there are getting the AS in, but against another PvP minded people? Tbh I find killing badge hunters and XPers no great challenge..but back to my point.
If you put a MA/SR stalker vs a MA/SR Scrapper, speced them with the same attacks and slotted them identcally and had them fight without the giving the stalker the chance to AS, the scrapper would win 10 times out of 10 and easily.
My point being that without the ability to AS, stalkers are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard..and without taking the concealment pool thats exactly what you are doing...seriously reducing your ability to use AS.
You point out the tactics you use with your power set, which is all well and good..and good on you...but ask a nin blade stalker without stun or disorientate how he gets AS in when every AT unders the sun can see him?..thats right, he uses stealth.
I admit that different builds develop different tactics and I agree that stalkers should adopt a more assasin class mindset when it comes to tactics (and many are), but I will still maintain that stealth is a must..I wish it wasnt so I could pick other powers..but thats just how it is atm -
Without stealth in Sirens/War/RV you are basically a low hit point scrapper who has trouble getting criticals off.
A fairly sweeping statement?
Well the thing is that eveyone hates stalkers (and if you thinks thats a sweeping statement then trawl these forums and look at the whine). As a result every man and his dog has some form of + perception be it power or temp power based.
The down side of this being that every man and his dog can see you.
Overstatement?
Well I ran in sirens for a good few weeks without stealth and got fed up to the back teeth of scrappers making a B-Line straight for you or Blasters Snping you from miles away.
Alot of people will suggest using stealthier tactics but the bottom line is all the tactics in the world will not save you if you can be seen coming.
Alot of heoes will say that this is a good thing as Stakers are..and I quote what I have been called..."Lamers". But take hide away from stalkers and all you have is a low hit point scrappers who cant critical bar the use of placate and high lvl attacks. And try placating someone and see what happens? They run for the hills and rightly so as AS is usually imminent.
So what am I getting at?
Stealth is a must in PvP. It allows us to be stalkers again not just week scrappers.
I really feel strongly against the anti-stalker attitude which seems to be in vouge atm. All I seem to read on these forums is rant about how stalkers camp and ambush and....omg...use hide. NEWS FLASH ..Stalkers are assains! underhand tactics must be expected and I would say applauded. Instead we get a "its not fair" backlash which leads to a stealh/perception arms race.
........And takes deep breath -

as for dmg divine does zero dmg
[/ QUOTE ]
Incorrect..Devine Avalanche does minor damage damage but as most people slot it for defence the damage is hardly noticable.
Sorry to nit pick -
Answering the original post.
I would strongly recommend taking devine avalanche from the ninja blade pool. this can stack providing supherb defence in both PvE and PvP (many a time I have stood toe to toe with a scrapper refusing do die).
Alot of people will say that its not worth taking as a stalker isnt meant to scrap, but I feel it adds an extra dimension to the stalker giving you the ability to scrap if needed. On the PvE side, Divine Avalanche allows you the defence to take down purp bosses.
I would go as far as saying that Divine avalanche is THE reason to choose Ninja blade -
I will volunteer my services.

Trying to work out if that was sarcasm or not
so due to my umwavering confidence in our good natured and friendly community I will give you the benifit of the doubt. -
I would be up for this on my stalker. been tying to organise some form of respec for some time now
-
Just Checked aswell.
2 green SO's and I was perma with about a 5 sec overlap.
Good enough? -
Ive been reading alot bout people talking about un-supressed travel. What exactly is meant by this and what, if any, benefits does it offer.
The main reasons I slotted swift and hurdle is because, to my mind, movement is the key to a stalkers survival (I think this goes for any assasin class in any game).
As for 3 slotting Rin, I have found my Rin is perma with 2 SO recharge rate reductions at lvl 41. Will this change at higher levels?
Invisibility was a shot in the dark really..having read up on it it seems that you cant run stealth and invisibilty at the same time so I think I will be swapping that out for grant invisibility maybe? Or maybe you could run with invisibility and then swithch to stealth before attacking? Comments on this would be welcome.
Thanks alot for your input -
Not going ahead with this due to lack of intrest.
thanks to the 1 person who posted up. -
First attempt at this..quite happy about the powers but need advise on the slotting

as far as I can tell there Isnt alot of difference between the majority of patron powers i.e ranged attack, snipe, hold and pet...the odd one out (as you pointed out) being Mako's water spout.
I suppose it depends on the concept of your character. If your a geek like me you will have a little back story to your character and select what patron best fits in. otherwise I suppose its a choice of what powers you feel will work best for you.
Sorry I cant offer more than that -
Looking to do this with my stalker so I can get his PVP build going and get rid of that useless Blinding Powder.
Looking for a reasonably balaned team to include de-buffing corruptors so please post up if you can make it.
Advise please aswell if this is a non starter due to AV's ridiculous regen rates
Cheers
