Just to make things clear here -

If someone attacks you in a PvP zone and you are having an RP event (like FC) that is NOT harassment.

If you are in a PvP zone you can attack another player repeatedly.

However - you cannot trash talk someone using vulgar words, racial slurs, sexual slurs or other UA violating actions (something is occurring over and over with the intention to harass, it may be actioned.) That IS harassment and can be actioned against by the GMs.

You could also be actioned for exploiting in a PvP zone - for example - by hanging out as a villain in a hero hospital to gank heroes as they respawn. This is not as designed and may be actioned.

The Support section of the City of Heroes/City of Villains website and Help section of the PlayNC website will be undergoing an upgrade and maintenance on Tuesday, March 28th between 6:00 AM and 8:59 AM CST.

Customers may not be able to access the Knowledge Base, “Ask a Question” and “My Stuff” sections of the Support/Help Tool for the duration of the upgrade and maintenance window. For all Support inquiries during this time frame, please send e-mail directly to cityofheroes@plaync.com - these inquiries will be queued for review once the upgrade and maintenance period has been completed.

Protector is now back online.

More details -

The protector server started having problems earlier today. The issue, which turned out to be hardware related, started as an intermittent failure and as the day went on progressed to a complete hardware failure.

As the problem became worse, data began to corrupt. As a result it was necessary to replace the hardware and restore the database. This process should be complete by 12am CST, March 16th. Due to data corruption the game will be restored as it was at 3pm CST on March 15th. Any progress made by players after 3pm CST was lost to data corruption.

We are working diligently to get Protector back online. We apologize for the downtime and loss of data.

We have isolated the problem to a hardware failure. We'll have protector back up as soon as we can.

Protector had been brought back up but has failed again. We are investigating the intermittent failure issue and hope to have a permanent resolution soon.

And, protector is down again. Working to resolve.

Guardian is back up as well.

Protector is back up.

Both Protector and Guardian are having issues at the moment. Our Network Ops group is working to resolve the issue. Updates as they become available. We apologize for the problems.

And yes - the Sonics changes and Alliance chat were big ones in my mind. There really are a lot of player suggested changes that have been made.

Alright, The gunner badge. Is it still bugged? I know, someone has comfirmed it over on pinnacle, but, they said they had done over 300 firebases to get the badge. That seems to be quite alot of firebases and would take quite a long time.

Is there, perhaps, a trick of sort involved? The badge description does kinda imply that you need to only take over 1 firebase... but 300? Bit rediculous.

Its fixed. Processing your ore will earn you the Gunner badge. Expect this in the next full patch to the Training Room server (basically sometime after Pocket D goes to Live).

FYI - this fix has not yet made it onto the live servers. The Gunner badge is NOT working on the live servers. Please do not /petition to get the badge.

The virtue server has had a hardware failure. We are addressing the failure and should have Virtue back up in an hour or so. We apologize for the problems.

And just like that, here is an update... They have isolated the issue and should have all servers back online in a few moments.

Alexa - Heroes and Villains must some times work together to combat even greater threats. My villainous sister-in-arms - you will be missed. Your sharp wit, hearty laughter, and almost instinctive wisdom and knowledge of community will serve you well in your future endeavors and delight your future co-workers as you have delighted all of us here in the "City of..."
