Meh, BR/Rad does mesh well, but I still prefer BR/Traps. Just take stealth (or drop the Unique into SS) and SS and play "advanced recon" for the team. I just always run out of the spawn that is being mopped up, go to the next one, start setting up and by the time the tank gets there, I'm good to go.

I've posted my Bots/Time/Mace build several times now, but yes, it is very easy, and not all that expensive to achieve:
-Softcapped DEF to EVERYTHING BUT PSI for PVE content
-Softcapped to S/L/E/NE for iTrial content
-Psi DEF is at 42% so pretty near softcap for PVE
My Bots are 55%+ DEF to everything but Psi (38% there)
The above accomplished via several permas and IO bonuses:
-PermaHasten
-Perma ChronoShift
-Perma Powerboosted Farsight (that's +26.15% DEF to EVERYTHING right there thanks to Enzyme slotting in PB...even with the nerf to Enzymes, pull them out and put in recharge and vanilla PB still throws you way up there and TJ covers anything it can't softcap).
-Several bonuses from IO's
-The shield from Bots

Quote:You don't need Provoke to Tankermind on a Bots/Time/Mace build as I've posted above. I do recommend either SS or Teleport Self so you can jump right into the spawn and get the 'Bots to open up from range. But with softcapped defense and TJ running, nothing is hitting you anyways and your debuffs simply slow anything down from running away. Provoke is totally optional to the build to accomplish this.Drop acrobatics. Put one steadfast knocback in place of the pvp 3%. Get provoke, put there the 3 remanining slots and put 4 perfect zingers (including the proc). There tankermind, and a endfree power that can do some damage :P -
Quote:The lag in the aforementioned iTrials (BAF, Lambda, NTN) wasn't really any worse than 'normal' iTrial lag. And we had at least seven-eight Thug MM's running around with double Gang War activated.I can't imagine double Gang War... it's the lag I am worried about!
Lag was most evident when someone would pop a group buff like AM. Which, along with the rest of Time's +RCHGE, was popping off almost every minute. -
I was on a an event last night running iTrials. Everyone had a Time primary or secondary. There were several Thug/Time MMs doing the Burnout double Gangwar trick.....I think at one point there were over 200 of those guys running around.
Several players said that this was nerfed on Test already. Can anyone confirm? -
^^. Nice build for a scrapper, but Brutes don't get Shadowmeld. This removes a lot of possible defense from the build.

The BP mission is from Unai, you get it right after he sends you to talk with Azuria. You have to rescue Mages from BP and its called "Defeat all Villains in Area" or something generic like that. There a bunch of glowie portals....obviously don't click them or you'll complete the mission. Just run it as many times as you want. I usually get a purple about every second run. Either at -1/x8 or 0/x8, just make sure you enable bosses. Thats what gets you the purples (killing bosses) or so I've found to be the case.
The Council one is actually a trip from Unai to Council Empire earth. Its called "Take Readings from Rupture." I have this on a different farming toon than my main (since you can't really have both of these at same time from Unai...they are part of his arc).
That's one of the reasons so many people use up farming missions like this...they finish them in a hurry to get to the next. For example, the end of Unai's arc is the Psychic Clockwork.
I can't answer the rogue question but you can always cross over and try. Just hit Unai up in the middle of Portal Corps, he's easy to find. If not, just run Tips to go full hero. You can always farm AE on either side and if you need to PL a redside person, just do it in the AE building in the RWZ...both red and blue can go to that one. Outside of Atlas, RWZ's AE is likely the second most active AE building in the game for this reason.
Full details on all of Unai's missions can be found in the ParagonWiki here:
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Unai_Kemen
**ONE LAST THING** Just to be sure you know this, do NOT take any missions from Unai until you hit level 50. If you do, you'll end up level locking yourself to his content. Wait to take his missions until you hit lvl 50. -
Harvey Maylor gives you the demon map. Unai gives you the outdoor city council map, as well as a Freak and Family map based on the ruined city zone (like the old Dreck farm).
There are several others that also work but those tend to be the most popular for purple farming. Personally, I run the Banished Patheon circular map with the deep inner trench. It's efficient given its circular and BP are weak to fire. At -1/x8 I can run it very fast as well. -
Although T4 is obviously better, I really found I was fine with T3 on Ageless and Reactive. You def want to T4 your Alpha and Judgement however.
Good luck! -
I'm hoping the devs accidentally improve Farming speed by nerfing AE Farming again!

3) I had no issues with health. Had to pop healing flames maybe three or four times in the entire time i was farming. I am still trying to find a template for the bind of converting extra insp to reds.

Turn that into a bind. Using your W, A and D keys (your normal movement keys) auto-combines 3 of anything into reds. Pressing both mouse buttons simultaneously pops the reds. I don't combine purples but rather swallow them as needed which isn't often.
Quote:4) I had an issue with end drain, but consume handled this issue.
Quote:5) T4 Pyronic Core Final Judgement does not seem to be the best Judgement Incarnate Power. Would getting Ion Core Final Judgement be a better choice?
Quote:6) I have currently have Spiritual Core Paragon for Alpha. Am considering getting Spiritual Radial Paragon for the recharge, defense and speed increase. Thoughts? Quote:7) Currently slotted with Barrier and seems to be a good fit. No issues with regen or recovery, especially considering I am missing a good lot of my IO bonuses. Suggestions for different destiny?
Quote:8) As I said before hand, I am a bit slow on killing, but I am hoping that with the addition of rage and using Vet powers that are not affected by rage, I can kill faster and ST bosses with wand/staff/ghost slaying etc.
Quote:9) I also ran a few trials last night as well. Keyes/TPN/BAF/SLAM and had zero issues with fighting with the exception of the EBs in TPN taking the alpha hit out on me. Other than that it looks like i have a solid build.
Just my two cents....worth even less than that at WentWorths. -
Rage is never down on build I posted. In fact, you can triple stack it. When Rage1 crashes, you'll only notice END drop, which is covered by either Destiny or Consume. Rage2 continues right through the drop....and Rage3 as well if you invoked it.

Quote:General consensus is that TW/FA is only build that can rival SS/FA, but SS/FA still wins out. Mainly due to Rage....and the non-issue of crash from same.I think that with the move to Cave farming, Titan Weapons replaces Super Strength as the best farming set.

Regardless, this thread is about a rebuild for a Ss/FA/MU. -
Quote:Very nice build. S/L/E softcapped defense and no purples and 3.83 end/sec. Recharge isn't great at 78% (no Hasten) but you've got a decent attack chain so DPS should be fine. Very affordable as well!Netted you 5 more S/L/E def and 5% more rech.

^^ What he said, but I'd pull a slot out of Boost and put the PerfShifter Unique and an EndMod into Stamina. If you can pull a slot from anyplace else in the build, I'd also put another one into Health and slot both the Miracle and Numina uniques as well.

I run a ss/fa/mu brute on the Cave map at +4/x8 and although I'm capable of having Rage triple stacked, I usually only double stack it. I have the auto-macro from pressing movement keys that converts everything into reds and purples and then pops them. As a result the "problem from Rage crashing" isn't even noticeable to me. I know there are "pure/he-man" types who swear that use of inspirations is somehow cheating, but I built this toon as my ticket farmer and PL'er (for myself and friends, not for profit) so I dont care about bragging rights in a videogame all that much.
Regardless, it was a build suggested in the "Very Best Farmer" thread months ago and even after months of AE nerfs, I easily PL a toon from 1-40 (private) in about two runs at an hour each (full Cave map).
Wasn't an expensive build either, other than the LOTG's and the normal run-up on defense sets in WW.
Original credit goes to forum posters Ultrawatt and Tourettes. Its a very good fire farming build. Just add the binds/macros I mentioned above and you are golden. Not much native defense, the requisite max +RES to fire and very high recharge so your AOE's are up constantly. Not a good build outside of the dedicated purpose for which it is built, however.
Before you ask....Jab is totally in there to slot Stupefy for the set bonus. I don't even have it slotted in my tray when farming, just the AOE's, Haymaker and KO Blow. Mu Lightning is decent for some ad-hoc herding of runners.

My Bots/Time MM is now done with iTrials and here is where she sits:
-Softcapped DEF to EVERYTHING BUT PSI for PVE content
-Softcapped to S/L/E/NE for iTrial content
-Psi DEF is at 42% so pretty near softcap for PVE
My Bots are 55%+ DEF to everything but Psi (38% there)
The above was accomplished via several permas and IO bonuses:
-PermaHasten
-Perma ChronoShift
-Perma Powerboosted Farsight (that's +26.15% DEF to EVERYTHING right there thanks to Enzyme slotting in PB)
-Several bonuses from IO's
-The shield from Bots
You've got so many perma's because Hasten + Chronoshift + native IO +Recharge bonuses = around 182% global recharge.
Add to the above whatever other -ToHit bonus I am getting from Times Juncture and I'm either softcapped to everything or way past it.
For Incarnates I went with:
-Alpha: Agility T4 (Didn't need any more defense but took it so I could get the +RCHG and +ENDRECOVERY)
-Destiny: Clarion T4 (Mezz protection was my only weakness, although I seldom got mezzed given I'm softcapped Defense to everything...Clarion now covers it)
-Interface: Reactive T4 (meshes well with Bot fire damage)
-Judgement: Ion T4 (once I've got the spawn locked down, this is handy)
-Lore: Warworks T4 (Moar damage)
Limited use of purples, just the cheaper ones. I did spring for a couple of HO's to exploit how PowerBoost works (you can actually boost the +DEF on Powerboost) but I didn't show that in this build. I can post my final-final one if you want it.
You won't have a single problem with mezzers because your defense is so high nothing hits you. And the reason for TP self is all in playstyle. I TP myself into the middle of the spawn from a short distance away (I have a Stealth IO to help with this). With TJ running, I'm flooring the To-Hit of everything, soak up the alpha (nothing hits me) and the Bots open up from range where their attacks are put the most good. Its a little similar to "Tankerminding" builds that use Provoke but you can skip that nonsense...TJ generates enough aggro, and once you hit the spawn, you'll drop Distortion Field and your other debuffs so nothing is leaving your immediate vicinity anyways.
This is far, far more powerful than my Bots/Trap and more productive than my Bots/FF ever dared to be. Highly recommended for Bots/Time. +4/x8 is nerf-inducing easy with this build and Incarnate Trials I pulled Nightie and Siege and solo'd canisters and crates in Lambda. Build cost around 3B and some change I think....made some lowball bids on the purples and HO's and got lucky, plus augmented with Merits.

Quote:I've done this, but no matter what I do, launching the second instance just says "loading" as with the NC Launcher app, and then it takes me to the first instance of the application. I can't seem to run two instances simultaneously. What am I doing wrong?
6. You can run multiple instances of City of Heroes by Duplicating the application (File > Duplicate) and calling the alternate one something like "City of Heroes (2)". You can then launch both applications at once. -
^^ So are you saying I can accomplish what I'm looking for via Steam?
I have Steam and this is exactly the kind of feature I'm looking for, but in a smartphone app.
Actually, what got me wanting this was playing Xbox Live the other day. When I see one of my friends is playing a particular game, it often makes me stop the game I'm currently playing and go join them instead. For COH, I imagine its a good thing to get players to quit playing Game X for COH instead by using as many opps to pull players in as possible. Their community, IMHO, is one of their strongest incentives to play out there. -
Quote:Opinion posted as fact = Hubris. Look it up. Now, go look in the mirror. For my last post on this thread I will skip any analysis or comments and just list a rank order of usefulness to a team for non-IO, non-incarnate, characters not going after an AV or GM.

Corruptor
SoA Crab
SoA Fortunata
Mastermind
SoA Bane
SoA Night Widow
Dominator
Tanker
Brute
Blaster
Stalker (with new buffs)
Scrapper
Too build specific to rank:
Peacebringer
Warshade
and for the record, I play Tankers and Dominators

I just know I'm more likely to jump online to the game at time intervals I'm sure my friends will also be online. If I had an applet of sorts that pushed a notification to me saying "Player X is now online LFT" I'd be far more likely to jump online right then.
More logons = more chance for socialization = more community.
I get the whole priority thing. Just saying it would be nice is all and I think the dev team should consider ways to keep players coming back. New content/shinies is well, but the biggest attraction for me with this game has always been that I have friends playing it too. We will grind a lot of crap countless times as long as we are doing it together. -
Now that the game is F2P, there is plenty of reason to create a "friends playing COH now" app. This is a social game, if Zynga can figure it out, why not COH?

I took an extended holiday and just came back after about a month off. I see a TON of TW/FA Brutes either being PL'd in AE or doing the PL'ing in AE.
Has SS/FA lost the title as best farmer to TW/FA now?
