Regen? Now be honest ...
I have a fire/regen scrapper that's softcapped to S/L. It does make a huge difference is survivability. You still need to be proactive for the hits that do get through you defense. It'll most likely be a lot easier to softcapped a brute. Honestly, if I had to do it again, I would of chosen WP or Regen. WP comes with built in Defense that will make softcapping easier. I feel the set is overall much more survivable than Regen.
If you're going to spend money on a regen toon, it will be amazing...my regen is a claws/regen...which doesn't proactively help with defense at all...doing it all again, I would probably go katana if I didn't do claws...maybe DM...
either way...here's my build...look it over and see what you think numbers wise...with all buffs up...the regen is massive.
BTW turn incarnate powers on...

^^. Nice build for a scrapper, but Brutes don't get Shadowmeld. This removes a lot of possible defense from the build.
yes but brutes also have a higher HP cap, which means they will regenerate more HP and faster...they also have a higher resistance cap to take advantage of something like barrier, or you could take vorpal judgement and gain the +def from the radial side...

Ive read more mixed reviews about regen than just about any other set in the game and it seems to be a very marmite sort of power set.
Ive always loved the idea of regen (with the idea of having an imortal toon something like Jack from torchwood, minus the stylish coat) but in my experience (scrappers with regen) ive had a hard time getting to love it, and subsequently any scrapper/regen ive mad (3 iirc) have never lived to see 20 (oh the irony)
But now after recently committing to 'pimping' out my SS/INV (which is a monster btw) i have a taste for brute blood ...
So THE question ... Is regen any good? and by that I mean if i were to IO it to the gills (just shy of things like pvp 3% def) would it be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the likes of my /INV or a softer tank for the matter?
Will it be worth the effort?
