Well the concept for a new pvp toon I had was a very long range flyer that used -fly to keep foes grounded. I was thinking Grav/Rad troller, Mind/TA troller, or Grav/Ice Dom, though I'm leaning more towards the Grav/Rad. It very important that the -fly stacks and doesnt get suppressed because I'm trying avoid getting hit by anything but snipes or similarly very long range set-ups.

Is there a timer on -fly in pvp?
Example: SS/Invuln tank chucks a rock at flying blaster grounding him.
In the example can the tanker continue chucking rocks at the blaster to keep him grounded or does the -fly have a timer after its applied so that you cant keep a flying permanantly grounded after engaging him?
Thanks in advance for the info. -
Not looking to make a fortune. Technically I'll be attempting to gather a fortune in enhancements and salvage.

I'll admit I was being a little silly with the flood the market comment. In order to do that supply would have to be far greater than demand and thats never gonna happen. I did not know about the markets all being connected. Thank you for the info everyone.

I wouldn't worry to much its going to take quite a while for me to get the full base built and even longer to fill it. I just like long term goals. It may be that by the time I'm done I'll be wanting to move on to the next virtual world full of shiny stuff and if thats the case then it will be an extremely epic version of "you can haz my stuffs". I dont know if this would be considered griefing but I just picture making an announcement on the triumph and market forums in a few months similar to this, "My base's storage is near capacity so its time to sell off some of my inventory. Sometime this week I am going to place 60 LoTGs on the market for 10 mil a piece. " The reaction to that alone would be worth it.
Disclaimer: The above example announcement was just that an example. I do not currently have any plans to do so nor do I have that many LoTGs yet... -
I'm considering building a private base for enhancement and salvage storage. So I've got a few questions.
1. How many of each of the storage table can be placed in a base?
2. How much approximately would a base of the size to max out storage capacity cost?
3. Will it be neccessary to get two of the really big generators to power the base?
4. How many of you would think it would be funny to flood a server's hero side market full of rare enhancements and salvage. (psst - This is what I'm planning to do) -
I never knew how good the quality of life was in this game until today. We almost never experience waiting lines. Aion just went live and the queues are gonna drive me nuts. I really enjoy playing but CoH has spoiled me. I'm gonna give it a few days/weeks to cool off but if there is still a waiting line when it comes time to start paying my monthly fee I'm gonna consider my time and money better spent elsewhere.
So in short, CoH is awesome, Aion could be if I and the other 1000 people in front of me could log in. -
Would there be any way to add a contact to the various zones that would allow you to get hunt missions in the level range of that zone. It would be nice for the people who like streetsweeping to get an occasional reward for it. Of course I"m not sure how it would work with the new ssk or the new difficulty options but hey its just a random idea I had.

I havent figured out how to update mids so I have no build to post. I'm gonna be working on an elec/elec tank. I plan on taking tough and haste, all other power pools I havent decided on. I plan on taking most if not all my powers in my primary and secondary, might not take power surge and lightning clap. So my main question is will I need to slot my attacks for more end drain for me to be an effective sapper/tank or will their base drain values be enough with lightning field and power sink slotted for end drain?

Just a single question does trip mine (or any others like poison trap) come along with you when you use teamtp?

My suggestion is to make friends with a few dominators. All it takes is one AOE immob and the crowd isnt going anywhere. Just ask the dom to focus on immob and boss holding rather controlling the entire spawn since a good dom can stop the entire spawn from attacking. This way you get fury, the dom gets a meat shield, and the mm wont be scattering the spawn.

Lacrymosa it may too late to change what they're implmenting but it may not be too late to change how.

Its been 24 hours and no one has shot down my idea or suggested the suggestions forum. There is something wrong here.

I kinda wish they would go outside the box for broadsword's AS. Instead of a stab I'd rather have the slice animation and, this is really wishful thinking, the slice cone. Call it Assassin's Slice. Broadswords to me seem to lend themselves to broad, sweeping movements and are unweildy in tight situations. Rather than be a precision based assassin Id rather they be the one who will cut through the crowd to hit their target. I know that because its a cone it would do less damage than the other strikes as long as it doesnt have a chance to not crit I'm okay with a slightly lower dmg AOE AS. Again only wishful thinking but this is the power line up I'd like to see:
Hack
Slash
Parry
Assassin's Slice
Build Up
Placate
Whirling Sword
Disembowel
Headsplitter (single target version) -

Would it be very unbalanced to have an optional lower power nuke at level 32? A good example would be Inferno: lower the damage to around 240 at level 50, reduce the recharge to around 75 seconds, make the endurance cost about 30, give it a new name, and make it and inferno mutually exclusive at level 32. This is not a suggestion. I plan on posting a much larger post in the suggestions forum next week so I thought it might be a good idea to get some insight from veteran blasters.

Wow exactly one year and 42 minutes later from the last post. You are a Thread Necromancer. What unholy rite of searching hast thou performed?
I need an angry mob, some farm implements, and torches. -
I know very little about pvp but I like guessing games so my money is on Nova form Kheldians.

Thanks for the responses guys. The pvp toon I'm trying to build is one that can run interference in zones for some friends of mine who arent pvpers at all but would like to get things like shivans or nukes. The basic idea originally was to bounce them away from my friends with force bolt repeatedly but since thats not gonna happen I guess I'll have to use a combination of force bolt and other mez to keep the interferring toon pissed off and focused on me. I was kinda hoping that it being a mag 50 would have enough air time for someone to question what the hell hit them. I'm probably gonna go either Ill/FF or Mind/FF although it might be kind of a dick move to smack someone with Force Bolt and follow it with TK. Would this kind of toon be good for arena team pvp as well?
-
Thank you. So having an extremely accurate mag 50 kb power is a waste then?
-
Im thinking about making a pvp controller and I was just wondering if KB powers always work or if they suppress.
Example: I use lift on someone and it pops them up. If I use lift again as soon as it recharges will it pop them back up again or will they just take the damage and stay firmly on the ground? -
This toon isnt very lazy until late game but an elec/devices blaster can be very lazy in late game. Just how lazy depends on how much you want to spend on it. Voltaic Sentinel, Gun Drone, and an attack on auto make for a very lazy solo and team player. If you put in the work to reach perma hasten you can have 2 gun drones out but thats for those less dedicated to being lazy.

This is my first attempt at a guide. The purpose is to give some advice on the dos and donts of teaming as a Stalker.
The first thing I learned as a stalker is that large steamroller teams will not wait for me to set-up and assassin strike.
The second thing I learned is that those large teams tend to have a lot of aoes and that minion or Lt that I was targetting wasn't gonna be there by the time my AS finished animating and if it was it was gonna be so low on health that my time would have been better spent on the boss that is now headed for the corruptor who just chucked a fireball into the spawn.
The third thing I learned is that when I placate a target said target moves on to the next thing on his list of things to smash which is almost always the poor squishy who is already nearly dead.
The fourth thing I learned is that enemies=exp and most people aren't going to agree to skipping exp in normal contact or paper missions.
The fifth thing I learned is that I have attacks other than Assassin's strike and that I had better use them and help manage the aggro, not just sit back and wait for hide to come back up so I can AS again.
The sixth thing I learned is that if I don't have time to AS then I shouldn't try to anyways. Most of my other attacks will critical from hide and activate much quicker.
The seventh thing I learned is that sappers and other enemies like them are bad and my responsibility is to kill them as quickly as possible and I should have custom target binds for the express purpose of finding and killing these enemies in the spawns that the team is targetting.
The eighth thing I learned is that if there is no brute on the team then as the other melee archetype on villain side (not counting VEATs) I'm expected to at least take the alpha.
The ninth thing I learned is that is that if I have to run away I should not hide behind squishies or flee into other spawns, aggroing them as well.
The tenth thing I learned is that when a team wipe does occur unless there is a H3ALZ0R to blame it on those with stalker hate in the hearts will blame me.
