Hmm, I wonder when the wiki page was last updated. Exalted's pop is definitely in the "Low" category now.
-
And then they say that they're making up things about made up things so that people know that the made up things were made up about the original made up things and are not the originals themselves. Simple enough
.
Seriously though, how many people just looked at the pictures and skimmed over the part that mentioned the creatures were horribly twisted and deformed from the ones we know? -

Yep, but that would mean you are prob. high 20 before friending with him (Long Jack I suppose). So any magic would already be slotted while natural and tech have to do all Long Jacks missions as well and as for science and mutation...

He's the second contact in the Striga arc. If you start out your 20s with just those missions, you can get his enhancements around 21ish. -
Might as well voice in.
Blasters: Desperation sounds like an interesting idea. I really hope it's just some addition they came up with and not their "fix" for Blasters.
Nerfs: Hmm, sounds like once the changes hit test, the boards will hear a [censored] storm like never before. I wonder how close Cryptic's "Yes, I beat it!" situation is to one that player's will accept?
Stamina: They can come up with all sorts of ideas and nerfs that no one's thought of, but haven't progressed past "can't get rid of Stamina, can't give it away for free" after how many months of looking at it? Nerf it and make an inherent part. Make part of it into an accolade. Increase the amount of end we get each level. Don't just sigh and talk about how you wish the game could've been!
Skills: Well I guess it's good to hear the universities will at least have some use.
Post 50:Ya know, I wonder what their expectation is on how long they keep customers? Do they plan on continuously drumming up lots of new customers as old ones leave after having their fill? Are they hoping for a customer base with a large number having years of experience?
Misc: Um, how sure are you about thinking that States' is looking to simply move to an all contact store system? Shifting from a building to a person, like in the 30s is one thing, but as others have pointed out, some changes might not be pretty. -
Neat. Will we ever see the Vindicators in action? (at least I think that's the name of the sk group)

Well, this is one of those things where what works good in a video game might not necessarily do well in contributing to a dramatic story- the medi-port system is a prime example of that.
If no one can die, where's the risk? And I do believe is says this much in the first issue as well...

Well, they did tweak the TP grid for the comic. The one we use and read about in-game isn't as infallible as their's is if the comic's grid allowed the heroes to go soft. -
Bah, bad choice of words on my part. Sub in "post to" instead of "been to" and that's what I meant. I've seen all sorts of hellhole boards. Would I make a peep there? Not in your life. These boards get very unpleasant at times and IMO it is not a good learning experience if this is the best internet interaction you've seen.

This is probably one of the cleanest, gosh-durn nicest forums I've ever come across.
[/ QUOTE ]
That just seems kinda sad to me. These are by far the rudest, most flame-filled boards I've been to. -
Backagain became Revolution_Pr0. Always interesting to see the passive aggresive attacks on... well pretty much everything.
scaryjapan, if you can't see how calling people crotch-sniffing fanboys is anything but an insult, you reeeeally need to take a break from the boards. -

, and eventually people will tire of ramming against brick walls. Most SS tankers have are living with Rage as it is and trying to make the best of it, not because they enjoy it, but because there is no alternative and no apparent hope of one.
[/ QUOTE ] Nonsense! There are people on these boards that do nothing but ram brick walls and beat dead horses. I can't think of the last time anyone mentioned changing Rage outside of this thread. If it has as much support as you say it does, bring it up in the Tank forums, sit back and enjoy the piles of people that agree with you. If it gets locked, PM CuppaJo and ask her to remove the semi-lock on this thread that keeps it on page three.
[ QUOTE ]
I've not argued with anyone other than you (if you can even call it arguing), and that's only because of your insufferably superior attitude and your insinuations that my opinions somehow don't matter because you don't like them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Funny, that's how I feel about you. The problem I've had with you in this thread is that you seem unwilling to even contemplate a dissenting opinion and have no problem making all-inclusive generalizations. When you try and speak for everyone, don't be surprised when you get a few indignant dissenters. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's very easy to confirm what the majority of Superstrength tankers want; simply read this thread.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do I know what the majority of SS tankers want in game? Heck no, I'm not a polling service.
But sure, let's go over this thread to try and find a continuing "heavily negative response." From what I've seen...
First, the thread was people shouting about Rage 2.0. Next we had people grousing about the proposed Rage 3.0 Then 3.0 was released, people tested it, found it wasn't as bad as prophesized, and dropped the topic. The latter part of this thread has been people suggesting some tweaks, discussing the mechanics of the power, and YOU arguing with anyone that dares to say they like the current Rage.
Pretty standard for a power change here. People shout that they don't like a proposal. Proposal comes out, testers find it isn't that bad. Topic fades away except for a few hangers on remembering the glory days of pre-change. Kinda like Smoke Grenade and Regen. -

, despite the heavily negative response of the majority of superstrength tankers.

Coupled with this[ QUOTE ]
Between stripping the knockback out of the set back in Issue 2 and the current incarnation of Rage, the fun has been pretty thoroughly sucked out of the powerset.
[/ QUOTE ] Makes me think you have no idea what the majority of SSers out there want. -
So, if our role is just "ranged damage" whereas we were previously "massive damage" and "offensive juggernauts," does that mean we will get some near scrapper level defenses?
I don't really like sticking my head in the sand, but not knowing what the devs thought felt better than looking at the huge gap between reality and how they view Blasters. -
My memory is a little fuzzy right now, but I'm sure that either Statesman or someone else confirmed that Statesman is Natural.
-
Guns? I was pointing out that they could still use their powers. You know, manipulating the elements and all that.
-
Another odd thing, heroes and clocks get screwed up, but the Outcasts powers still work just fine?
I hope(and am betting) there's more to the comic because so far "Heroes lose their powers, start running around like headless chickens, then get slaughtered" registers as a "meh" with me. -
How about more villian base maps? The council/column map is a great start, but we need more. For example, it's kinda hard believing the story that says Nemesis hates using computers, while we constantly get sent to the tech lab map for his bases.

[ QUOTE ]
It's purely smashing, the most resisted damage type in the game, and its attacks other than Knockout Blow (which recharges very slowly) are very low damage. Even Haymaker isn't anything spectacular.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe the Brawl Index is completely broken or I didn't calculate right, but according to it; Barrage, Energy Punch, Bonesmasher, and Total Focus do the same damage as Jab, Punch, Haymaker, and Knockout Blow.
I too used to believe the general mumblings that SS is gimp, but after playing with mine for a little while, the idea seems laughable. -
[ QUOTE ]
In fact Rage brings superstrength up to par with the other sets since it's substandard otherwise.
[/ QUOTE ]How is SS substandard? -
[ QUOTE ]
Through my career most of the tanks I've teamed with have been of the invul/superstrength variety. In the past week, though, I've teamed with some other variants -- invul/energy, fire/ice, fire/fire, and fire/energy I think covers all of them. I have watched them closely to see how the sets work (especially since I have ten seconds out of every 100 or so that I can't do anything else).
Rage as it currently exists is flat out unfair.
[/ QUOTE ]
So have you experienced these other sets by playing them or is this just anecdotal evidence?
For a long time, I believed what was said on the boards. SS uses overly high endurance. It is balanced for damage based on the idea of rage constantly running. Look at the numbers!
...then I played my tanks.
My anecdotal evidence and experience says that SS is a good set. I'm guessing that you have more here than you posted, but I'll stick with what I'm seeing. And what I'm seeing is that you're saying that the SS secondary is weak when compared to other secondaries and a highly damaging primary. That just doesn't seem to make sense. Have you tried Fire/SS? On the not fire side, so what if Energy does more damage? Have you compared endurance used, recharge times, and when certain powers come into play?
What I've seen doesn't appear to paint SS as a low damage, high end set. I think Rage is unfair. Not in the weak way though. I'm surprised there is a near permanent version of Build Up on a set that isn't gimp.
*Note my opinions keep shifting as new info is inputted. This view is a result from a bit of comparing different sets and views of them. Liable to change quickly -
You sure they didn't slot it? I noticed hover got a lot faster as I leveled.
-
Funny, how people say they need AoEs the way they are to avoid Sappers and mezz effects, when in the same post as he mentioned AoE changes, States' said minion mezzers are being dramatically reduced and Sappers are going down to 1 per group instead of 2.
-
Sure hope States' comes back to this thread and is able to get through the muck and whining to answer the legit and polite questions some people have asked.
-
Wow, he said small tweak, and people are acting like he said that tomorrow he's personally deleting Instant Healing.
-
Statesman, could you please comment on Blizzard? The general sentiment is that it is greatly sub-par compared to the other 9th powers in the "X Blast" sets.
Heck, I'll even take "no plans at this time to look at it." It's just that there's been practically no info forthcoming since the increase to knockdown, even though the combined number of pages about the power is in the hundreds.
