Quote:As much of an ahole Shane may be in the new world, hes been right more times than not (as someone said) and if he hadnt gone off the deep end, the group may possibly never found Sophia. If we look at Sophia as less of a person and more of a catalyst, she's doing a great job. She's giving Darryl a (presumably) way to atone for his sins and his past, Carol a chance to grow closer to someone who isn't an abusive *******, Herschel an opportunity to see that those things are never going to be people again, and Glenn to get his mack on.
Shane needs to die.
Painfully.
Preferably at the mouth of a walker. With any luck in that swamp.
What does Darryl need to atone for? -
Quote:Different strokes for different folks...Im still enjoying the show. I guess you wont be commenting in this post when the show picks back up in Feb since you're not liking it?Yes I know they're not going to follow it exactly and I don't expect them to. It's just the departures from the comics haven't been worth the screentime they've had. I don't mind changes in the translation so long as they're good. So far they haven't been.

Quote:I have a Fire/Dev Blaster that I sometimes play slow but usually just steamroll through everything without much difficulty.Devices plays slow. It's strength is setup and solo play, slow solo play. If you aren't playing to its strength you will do badly. Defense is nice but patience is what you really need with devices. That said ranged is the choice for defense. You have caltrops and the web grenade nothing should get to you unless you want it to.
Maybe it depends on the primary. -
Been away for a bit but figured Id see a lot of melee types claiming SS/regin Brutes...did they not take off?

Is it possible Hank Venture grew up to be Marshall Brass aka Batman wannabe?

Quote:That was my point as well...like, why do we care?My biggest issue with the Sophia plot, is that she wasn't really that much of a developed character to start with, so no one really cares about her. And the whole soap opera plot stew that's going on this season is definitely not helping.
Do something! Go somewhere!
Sophia who? -

Quote:If someone is stuck on their own opinions to the point of being unable to see things from another's perspective, then whats the point in talking about it? Nothing anyone says will change the your veiewpoint and theres no point in continuing the conversation.I honestly don't see how the level 1-49 content is any less enjoyable than the 50 content. It's essentially the same.
Levels 1-49 like level 50 play can be enjoyable, you have powers, run missions, buy/sell etc. Your point though is like saying you dont see the difference between a Honda and a Porche...theyre both cars, they have air conditioning, they serve the purpose of getting passengers from one place to another. Its essentially the same thing which is true to some degree I suppose, but some people prefer one versus the other for whatever the reasons. -

Agreed, like most changes that are made...I dont think the devs looked at this from any other perspective than strictly a PvE improvement.

Quote:Who the heck wants to FF to the age of 100 when many people need others to change their diapers and cant remember who their family is. I think I have to agree with you.If I can live until I'm 100 years old, do I want to rush to 98 just because I want to skip the boring parts of life?
No, I want to live those earlier 98 years.
Because then my last two will be worth it.
But using your example with a twist...
If at the age of 50 I was exposed to a meteor that gave me powers allowing me to fly into space, timeshift, shoot lasers out of my genitalia, see through clothing (bow chika bow wow, I see where this is going)...I would definitely want to fast forward through levels 1-49 of my life where I had to drive around in a boring car, goto school for a worthless piece of paper, work for idiots and worry about paying bills.
Thats whats so great about this thing, we're all different and enjoy different aspects of life (read CoH). -
Quote:When their "preference" takes them to the point of violating TOS and the law to pay someone else to play the game for them to bypass the first 49 levels of it, then, frankly, yeah, this IS the fact of the matter. I've been around enough MMO communities to have seen plenty of people who don't even bother trying the pre-endgame game of an MMO. They find the first opportunity they can to get powered through it. They remain obsessed with getting to the level cap and don't bother giving it a chance. This stems mainly from an over-competitive nature. "I want the biggest numbers and best raid gear, and I can't get that 'til the endgame!" While there's nothing wrong with wanting a powerful character, when you're so obsessed with it that you're "fast forwarding" past the rest of the game, then you're missing the point. It's like using the level skip cheats in DooM ( yeah, calling up a classic there.
) to get to the endboss without ever playing the rest.
In short, this "the game doesn't start until the level cap" isn't simply "a person's preference". In nearly all cases, it's a person's ignorance.
I was talking about illegally paying for gold service for in game money...if people actually allow someone to PL their toons for them, then they get what they get I suppose. It seems silly to do this when you can sit AFK in someones farm and hit lv50 in a few hours.
obssessed, captivated, violating the law...
These are the kind of words that make me say your posts are a bit dramatic b/c I wouldnt personally associate any of this with playing CoH or any game for that matter. If anyone is feeling this way when playing MMOs, then I would venture to say you may have a point. -
Agreed. Ive been playing on and off for 7 years and still love the game, but at this point I enjoy high level TF/SFs and PvP (post lv35 vs 1-35). I dont want to be censored and have my posts deleted again b/c I broke the RMT rule once, 5 years ago, but I have been able to have toons to lv50 in no time at all on my own without some PLing service. It doesnt mean I dont enjoy the experience, I just enjoy a different type of experience.

Quote:I agree with both you and MM...I dont really care about this version of Sophia and wouldnt care if nothing is said about her again. At the same time, it is poor storytelling and I dont see anyway of just moving on without some type of closure on this piece. If Herschel says, "get off my farm immediately and dont come back!" (we know that wont happen), the show would still have to deal with the grieving mother aspect. While that may be true in "reality," it's still poor storytelling, at least in my opinion. To drag a plot point out this long and dangle clues like the bed in the closet and the doll in the creek and then just abandon it altogether - I just can't imagine them not giving the viewers some kind of closure.

Quote:Its all about appearing as something else for the Greek Gods when they interact with the commons. SNL did a skit a cpl of weeks ago on the Greek Gods...Poseidon had a habit of humping mortals as a dolphin. Good times...Didn't they say something along the lines of, "We don't interfere with them in our IMMORTAL forms?". Didn't really say anything, ttbomr, that they couldn't interfere in totality.
Immortal form = bad
Showing up as a goose or a golden rain = acceptable

Ive watched Ben 10 at times in the past but never seen Rex.
It looks like fun. -
Very true sir. And it must suck watching any kind of medical dramas with your mom...my mother has always been associated with hospitals in her line of work and its impossible watching anything like that with her.
-
Agreed. When I see the improvements, I hear sweet, sweet love making music in the background...bow chika bow wowooooow.
Its about time. -
Quote:I dont think its really about that, even though that could have been what the poster meant. I know that for me, its hard to watch movies or TV shows that have aspects dealing with military operations if its not somewhat close to the real deal. Otherwise I find myself unconsciously thinking, "lol, yeah rite...thats not the way they do this or that", instead of enjoying the production. I suppose if you are up on Spartan life/tactics, 300 may have been difficult to watch....idk.If you went to 300 for the history lesson then you missed the point of the movie.
I havent hung out with any immortals lately, so I hope I can get into this -
I always thought he had a cool backstory, a bit different from ... alien crash landing on earth, alternate dimension hero of alien crash landing on earth, cousin of alien crash landing on earth etc.
As far as SyFy, I enjoyed their Alphas show this season on top of some of their other productions recently. -
Quote:Not sure Id classify a person's preferences as a 'fallacy' and Id venture to say that your opinion of the matter is a little dramatized. Some people spend hours working on SG bases, while others devote time to farming. Some enjoy playing stock broker on the market and others show great pride in collecting displaying badges. With the multitude of different aspects the game presents to players, why is it a strange concept to understand that some enjoy higher level TFs (where the majority of powers are available)/PvP and etc which many times utilize end game builds?Because some people are captivated with the fallacy that the game begins at the level cap. Frankly, I don't believe this is true in most MMOs. Even the great behemoth that shall not be named. But, there are a lot of people who think the "raids" in an MMO are the whole game and the rest is just put there as an annoying obstacle to trod through before you can start them.
Your statement seems very black and white and sorta, "this is the fact of the matter" as opposed to recognizing people have different preferences. If I miscategorized your viewpoint, I apologize. -
