So does this mean all the VIP related stuff is going to go away sooner than the rest of the game, or are they unlocking everything in these waning months?

  3. Yup. Totally agree. As soon as the CoH servers shut down, NCSoft will get zero more from me, ever. I'm not about to fall in love with another MMO by them only to have them shut it down with almost no warning later on.

Sounds like they're really racing at top speed for their chapter seven bankruptcy. Yay!
  6. Well... the Paragon Wiki is inaccessible already. That was quick.

If they laid off the main staff, are the mods still here? Or do the lunatics run the asylum now?

Yes I know. My point was that I actually having fun doing it the way I said, lol.

Also I was playing my 50's almost exclusively from September to July, trying to Incarnate them all, get all T4 abilities, and collect six of those salvage bits to purple the AT enhancements. I ended up getting quite a number of purple drops that way. I used converters to change them into what I actually needed.

What can I say? I enjoyed the challenge.

I figured, you know, I'd have enough to time to get it all done in about a year. I must've been trippin'.

EDIT: And this was for six level 50's. Meanwhile I was trying to level up all of my other alts that had been languishing in the teens and twenties forever. I've got most of them up to level 34. Looks like they'll never see level 35.
  9. Since the game is going offline forever soon, I thought I might as well talk about how I've been making inf on the markets!

Once I abandoned flipping Alchemical Silver, it took me a few days to figure out where my new niche would be. A friend of mine had the idea to start flipping certain types of common level 50 IOs. I took a look at them and kind of dabbled in what seemed to be the most lucrative ones.

The two that caught my attention the most were Endurance Reduction and Recharge Time. For a little while I set up niches in both of them, but eventually I just decided to dominate the level 50 Recharge IO market.

I memorized the recipe for this IO on all six of my level 50 characters on Virtue, so that it would only cost 216,000 inf to craft them. I sell them at 300,000 inf. At the same time, I make two bids of 10 each at 200,000 inf.

Actually, I stagger the prices when I sell them. So the first one is for 300,000, the second for 299,999, the third at 299,998 and so on.

At the same time, I logged in every alt I had on every other server, and filled their market slots with chump bids of 1 inf each, in order to inflate the apparent demand of level 50 Recharge IOs. It's the same psychological maneuver I did with Alchemical Silver. That was why the demand got to so high as it was. Actually it might still be that high because, erm... reasons!

I've been doing this for almost a year now, since I got back to playing this game in September of last year.

I almost had my level 50 characters entirely purpled out. Sigh...

Well after this game is shut down, NCSoft is certainly not getting any more of my money. They have a penchant for pulling the rug out from under everyone way too often.
  11. BTW, if this is indeed the end time, I don't think it makes sense to lock away any of the content anymore. Everything should be unlocked. All enhancements of every type freely available. From now until they shut the servers down.

I believe our only hope is if the Titan Network sets up a Kickstarter fund to attempt to buy the CoH property from NCSoft. But... I have no idea if that would even work.

One thing's for sure, I'm gonna be taking an awful lot of screenshots and saving costume files, when I get home today!

Also, I think I've just lost my motivation to get a better videocard. Haha.

Indeed. I can't trust NCSoft would not pull the rug out on something else they own, after I've grown to love this game so much. I left twice for personal reasons, but I came back both times.

Before City of Heroes, I would not touch an MMO because I didn't like the idea of having to pay a monthly fee. The game I loved the most at that time was Sim City 4.

And not that I trust EA at all either. Looks like I'm going back to my old single player games.

    Sigh.
  15. I'd certainly start paying whatever it is I'm paying per month now to the Titan Network instead if they were able to buy the servers and the rights to the game and all that.
  16. I only ever got six characters to level 50...

Damnit. I really hope this property gets purchased by someone so it can continue, or something. I don't know...

You could have bought or built a DTMF encoder and just placed the speaker to the receiver and dialed numbers that way!

Or else recorded the tones of pre-dialed numbers and play that back into the receiver.
  19. I wish I'd been able to finish my two bases so that I could have shown them off here. But, oh well! I'm still gonna finish them, eventually.
  20. So what's next? Are we gonna have flying DeLoreans now?
  21. Whatever the Battalion look like, they will very likely have a flag.

I don't, I just play the game. Getting into all the crap that people get into in these forums would totally ruin the game for me.

My in game friends just chat and play, no need to bring all that extra drama into it, when we are all just trying to have fun, that's what the forums are for lol.
    This. Amen. Plus one.

My experience in the game is quite different from here in the forums.

In this game, there's only one set of skills you really need!
  25. What do you think? Would it make more sense to put the Panacea Chance for +HP and + End proc in Lifegiving Spores or Spirit Tree?

This is assuming that I wish to share the love that is that proc with all of my allies, which is actually the case! I was thinking of putting the Panacea and Performance Shifter procs in Lifegiving Spores.
