Are team leaders the only ones who get to see story text?

When working as a team, either for normal missions or TF's or what have you, is there any way for people who arent the team lead to see the story text from the contacts and such along the way?

I ask because there are a lot of TF's that I havent tried yet and I'm mostly interested in them for story purposes, but as a newb I cant really take the lead spot. Am I just stuck running the TF and then going to the wiki to see the text around whatever I just did?

No, although recent content has started to have the mid-mission contacts say stuff in NPC chat channel with responses. (Note this doesn't apply to the actual contacts, just the people that show up inside a mission that you talk to (only applies to the most recent content, in the last year or two - they pretty much didn't exist before then))

On your Compass where the mission objectives are, there is a star with an exclamation mark, click it.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

BTW, this comes up periodically, and got discussed a lot during the Issue 22 beta also (and possibly other betas too).

Feel free to head to the beta forum, find a Misc Feedback or Missions Feedback thread, and discuss your ideas for how you'd like to read the mission text for each of these types of missions. The devs might not be able to do anything about it for Issue 24, but they do listen, and frequently ideas posted in the feedback threads show up in later issues when they've had time to work on the suggestions.

Certainly, give the devs feedback. But keep in mind that players have been asking for mission text to be shared since the beginning, and it hasn't happened yet.

(Considering the quality of the storytelling, you're probably better off not seeing it. But if you must satisfy your curiosity, the best way to read the missions is on wiki, as you can see the mission text, the dialogue, and the clue text without having to take occasional breaks to fight something.)

Even if you could read it, most TF's are run at such a breakneck speed that you don't get much of a chance without falling behind.

In other words, every CoH plot-line is based directly on Mario.

Well done, and bravo! And yeah, I've BEEN on that task force -- a few times now!

(And a big "thumbs up" to konshu's "read the wiki" as well -- I've been known to do that A LOT myself after the dust clears.)
