*looks up from the pile of shrooms and LSD while preparing an eightball*
WHAT?!?
When did THIS happen?
Sure it could.
It's not likely (though true world peace isn't likely in itself), but it's POSSIBLE. -

Quote:Yeah, they'd take off their pants.Past a certain age, they start to discover that poopy pants=uncomfortable. Left alone long enough they would figure something out.
They do that a bunch too.
Not that I can blame them. The breeze wafting 'bout my nethers is particularly invigorating. -
Quote:It was after the show had ended. Well after, actually. Are you sure? I thought Manimal only made it for 8 episodes. There was a pseudo-crossover with Automan, but it wasn't an actual team-up type of thing.
P.S.
For anyone not familiar with Manimal, let the Cinema Snob educate you. -
Quote:They also poo their pants. They don't have to be taught how to be selfish. They have to be taught how to share thier toys, not grab the toys out of other kid's hands and to not smack someone who takes thier toys away.
Selfish is what they do if no adults show them how to behave.
Wait, so does that mean I'm "naturally inclined" to pooing my pants?
Ha HA! Loophole!! Suck it Mr. Toilet! -

So let's list the recent robot innovations.
Robots with emotions.
Robots who can lie.
The ability to shoot arrows.
The ability to understand pain.
So basically we've got a robot who can get angry at us, lie to us about it's intentions, and then cap us in the head while our back is turned. -
Quote:A teller stopped a bank robbery by making the robber fill out loan papers; delaying him until the police arrived.only if you think taxing folks is wrong.
hrm, i wonder if i could get bureaucracy as a super power.
"Halt! you can't steal that TV, without filing the proper paperwork!"
So.... maybe "Bureaucracy Man" isn't TOO farfetched. -

Quote:Wait; so if I want Tylenol on store shelves, I gotta accept heroin being up there next to it?There is only one argument for every drug I have ever heard and thus it is either a yes or no and since it applies to all of them it is a yes or no with all of them.
That seems a little..... extreme. -

Quote:That is ADORABLE.But look on the bright side. We as a society will not last much longer. The signs are there. We will implode into chaos and war which will solve a lot of problems through the death of innocents that would not happen if some of us 'mini tyrants' had powers.

My interest in Dragonball waned the more they shoved Krillin into the background.
Well, at least he bagged the hot android chick before they completely dismissed the character. -
Quote:I always love it when people equate "morality" with being overly soft on the evils of the world. Sorta like when people equate playing violent video games to being a serial killer.Being nice and overly civil on crime and criminals and such are part of the reason society is spiraling down the toilet.
But folks do love their "dude, I'd TOTALLY kill a buncha people for their own good" rants, so don't mind me. -
Still, I don't think full evil is any more natural than full good. Human beings ARE pack animals, so the well-being of the "pack" IS a natural concern. Extreme selflessness and extreme selfishness both fall outside of instinctual behavior.

Quote:I think I'd end up around Catwoman-levels of "evil". Sure, I'd exploit the HELL outta my powers, but I'm not sure I'd go full-on villain.Everytime I see someone in need of help, I try do what I can, and I feel bad cause I can't do more, and I feel worse when I can't do anything at all. I don't think I could be a supervillain, it's not in me to not help.
I could be the dashing rogue.
Well... I could be if one of my powers was "handsome-ifcation". -
Quote:You have to remember that movie's don't occur in a void. Previous "origin" movies have produced a set of preconceptions through repetition. The biggest of these being "no big super-fights" and may even feature the hero in full costume for a very limited time and/or feature the hero at a lessened power level.I don't get the "I don't want another origin story, everyone knows Superman's origin" stuff.
Now, good origin movies DO exist. Spiderman and Batman Begins weren't bad. But notice that most people consider the sequel to be superior. Same for Superman and X-Men. Sometimes, with a more obscure character, it can't be helped. But for someone like Superman, I think they could just give you a general IDEA of his origin through the course of the movie without actually focusing on it. -

Well... looks like we can kiss the movie critic business goodbye.

Seems like sorta a karma thing.
Marvel's kicking DC's butt in live-action movies, while DC is ahead in animated ones. Hopefully with Disney behind Marvel and the upcoming Green Lantern movie; things will even out a little more.
