No, but seriosuly.. welcome to the newly merged forums!
I know everyone and their mothers are welcoming you all, but it has a special meaning for me. Now I know where to come to get people to send me stuff from overseas! :P
Mushy peas and Aero... *drools* -
Marmite is disgusting and Jammie Dodgers are ace!
That is all!

OMG! Portal bridges?
I'll bring 2 speed boosters cause you can never have too many speed boosters... or Oro portals...
>.> -
I was just scrolling through my accounts, looking for a free character slot so I could roll a new alt, when I noticed how many of the same Archetypes I had.
I would have assumed that I had more Masterminds or Tanks, as they are the ATs that I'm so accustomed to playing. I was totally shocked to see that the AT I originally cared the least about was the one I had the most alts of...
The Warshade! (I was never that much of a fan of the WS because I'm not happy with having teleport as a travel power.)
Anyhow, I counted 10 Warshades, 8 Masterminds, 6 Tanks, 5 PB's, 5 Corruptors, and at least one of the rest.
So, what about you? -
Nope, they don't get debt.
-
It was something about being on an AE farm and after a few tries at what seemed to be a bugged mission, the people on his team didn't reinvite him once they disbanded.
They went into the mission without him and ignored his tells.
He then went on to rant about how he was on the same team with another MA powerleved alt for the past few days and he tried to explain to them who he is, but was still ignored.
Then more of his rage set in, so I clicked back before reading the rest of his post.
Them's the basics. -
I'm under the firm belief they are gearing up to open up all powersets to All AT's, except they will fall under AT framesets rather than Non-AT framesets.
I mean in the past two years they have given us powersets for AT's that we've asked for, as well as ones we haven't asked for.
Meaning, I believe that in 3-4 years Tanks will be able to choose Stalker Powersets, we'll see Stalkers with Blaster Powersets, Controllers with Mastermind powersets, etc.
I'm also under the belief that they give us what they can, when they can, because they want people to get excited about what's down the line. No sence in compiling them all and giving them to us in 3 years when they have all of the kinks worked out.
Of course, there will be powersets that won't be able to work with some AT's. Kheldians or Veats sets with most, mainly beause they have multiple powersets per AT. Unless they decide to break up the Epic powersets.
Once again, just my opinion. -
I have no idea what's going on but each time I zone something goes haywire with the default movement binds.
Upon zoning, I'll either start auto-jumping, auto-running in circles, running backwards, flying in circles, etc. The only way to fix it is to either do a hard shutdown (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) of CoH, or to mash the buttons on the keyboard till something interrupts the auto feature.
I use an unprogrammed G15 keyboard, but this has happened on other keyboards. Also, the keyboard is not wireless. -
Villain Pentad Badge is fixed for villains on test.
-
I say we wait for the United Federation of Planets to get involved. Cause we have the technology, except they are holding it back from us because we haven't developed the human race to where we are tolerant of other beings.
Am i right? -
Did you try it with the /e none before the other emote? Because if it's at the end, that the one that it goes to last.
Example: "e none$$e dance" -

NO, YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!
Oh, wait... wrong thread.
Actually, I believe Hero 1's dept. is the MA, but not sure it it's just the background work or the overall running of it. Might need to contact a QA Dev, like Blue Steel or Ghost Falcon. -
Once again, it's not the Devs job to babysit your arc. You are fully responsible for all content you create.
Which means their patch notes, that describe anything that you might use, are more than enough information for you to gather and think, "Hey, maybe that means my arc?"
Did you ever think maybe they 'forgot' to mention it was removed, or 'forgot' that they didn't replace it with one that wasn't exploitable?
"To err is human..." and the last time I checked, all of the Devs are human.
Things that become exploitable are because of errors that slip by. We've seen plenty. This could be the same.
So try and calm down. -
*waves hand*
There were no other Rikti models
*waves hand again*
Damn, this thing doesn't seem to be working anymore.
*shakes hand as sputtering sparks fly*
Oh well... Here's a link that has both the original Rikti models as well as the new, improved Rikti:

I find it amusing that the OP is up in arms (though he says he's not) about "no one being able" to make unique content.
This game is not "City of Your Uniqueness" it's "City of Heroes." We're all just small characters in a universe based on the Freedom Phalanx, Arachnos, Rikti, etc. We're not the main stars of the game, we're just in their world. I don't have a problem with that, but I know of many that do.
Many want to be their own personal Superman... many want to be that to others... many want to be "THE" main characters, ignoring the actual story or the stories of others.
The MA is made for us to let our creativity flow within THEIR world. Which means, we work with what we are given. If you don't like that, then don't complain your creativity is being held down. You have what you are given but you want to believe you are entitled to more?
This isn't Neverwinter Nights. This isn't their community. You were not promised what they have for their "community content creator." Assuming that you will have everything they have only shows that your world is based around you, and only you.
To hold your inability over others because you could not find a way to make the MA work for you is insane. The Devs didn't do this to you. You did it to yourself.
The humourous thing is that this whole thread started because of your nerdrage over the Generator being removed. After being told why, you quickly spun it that there is no way to be creative in the MA because you want what other games have. Once again, the only thing promised to you was an ability to make storyarcs. That promise was delivered. You still have an ability... just that you have to work with what WE ALL have.
I just find this thread amusing and insulting at the same time. It reminds me of the child at the toy store that has the option to choose anything in the store... yet wants what the child outside is playing with. Tantrum ensues, anger, rage, etc. But the fact of the matter is... if you want what is outside, then walk through the door. Don't sit inside and make the rest of us miserable over what "you" can't have. -
I didn't mean to be, well, mean about it. One of the things that a lot of people expected with the MA was 100% control over arcs they made. Meaning they wanted to create anything and get away with it.
People wanted an ability to import images into arcs, but that was given a "no" stamp due to possible copyright infringement. People wanted to re-create movie, television, and comic book plots. The dev's them stamped a "no" on it, then making the rule that not even homages or parodies of copyrighted works would be allowed.
People even wanted the ability to have "private" arcs, made for only them, their friends, or their supergroup. That was swiftly met with another "no" stamp since making something private could give people the ability to publish an arc with copyrighted content. Which means that it would have an inability to be reported for exploits or violating content rules..
The thing I was trying to point out to Slashman is that he's not being singled out. Everyone that uses the MA has the same restrictions placed on them. That was something that he was overlooking. That he wasn't the only person that had their arc runined due to content being changed/removed.
Then he tried to argue, not that the reasoning behind it was unacceptable, but that the whole MA is useless because "he" had to edit arcs over and over. Well, I don't know of a single person that used the MA that didn't have an arc affected one way or another.
I understand he is venting, but putting up his wall of anger and hate only blocked him from seeing and accepting the truth. -
[ QUOTE ]
Since that's been answered by Commander and SpaceNut I'd just like to ask; What story/mission ideas did you have that required importing your own resources? I'm actually quite curious.
[/ QUOTE ]
Me thinks someone wanted to upload a Superman emblem and make an "homage" of Superman III, starring Richard Pryor and Christopher Reeves. -
[ QUOTE ]
Exactly! None of those things got patch notes! That's my point, I had to wait to hear that my arc didn't work from people who wanted to try it.
[/ QUOTE ]
The dev's DO NOT put exploits, or causes of the exploits, in patch notes, unless it affects the overall game. An exploding generator being removed does not warrant an explanation because it doesn't matter overall.
[ QUOTE ]
Destructible objects were in the game for a long time and they all caused damage when destroyed. I have never heard of anyone using them to kill spawns. I assume it can be done...but the amount of bother it would take to herd things close enough would hardly make it worthwhile. Plus...isn't there a limit to the number of destructible objects you can place in any map?
[/ QUOTE ]
You aren't seeing the point... people created a Destructable Object objective that is SURROUNDED by Elite Bosses, Bosses, etc. that give extraordinary XP. Destroying the object would auto-kill the surrounding enemies, giving you massive XP with little to no risk. The larger the team, the larger the spawns. The bigger the map, the more objects can be placed.. the more bosses there are for easy XP kills.
It has nothing to do with hearding since all objective objects have built in surrounding enemies.
[ QUOTE ]
I'm done messing around with an arc that has only gotten more genericed and gutted with each patch with no warning or notes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Once again, the devs owe you nothing in a way of explaining themselves. You've been playing since 2004, correct? (According to your forum reg. date, unless eBay played a hand with your account.) Well, if you have been playing since 2004, you would know how the Developers work. They are here to give us the game and fix any problems that MAY arise, in any fashion.
[ QUOTE ]
I tried MA and made an arc...my opinion on it is now bleh...more than ever. Looking forward to some dev content that doesn't need editing by me after every patch. MA is a waste.
[/ QUOTE ]
MA is a waste to you because you want your way. Your way was changed, much like 99% of us. You either deal with it or walk away. Or complain that you are being singled out by the Devs and expect sympathy since, obviously, no one else was affected. -
How many set heroside, total, do you need?
-
[ QUOTE ]
It's a POWER GENERATOR. If you blow it up...why would it NOT do any damage???
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly! Which is why it was pulled. Because the generators do damage to the surrounding enemy groups AS WELL as players.
Players were using that fact to exploit the MA by using the generators to kill spawns, thusly earning them XP without much effort.
So, why leave something in game that is essentially useless, once they change it so that it does no damage?
EVERYTHING removed from the MA is either exploitable or causes major problems. It's not the dev's job to explain to you why or how. Their job is to fix these problems and, if they have time or see a need for it, then replace it... eventually.
Be aware, they will NOT have a replacement for it right away. If they do replace it, it can take months, mainly because they are working on other things (new issues, new powers, etc.) as well as have to MAKE a new version that's coded to NOT be exploitable.
