  1. Andy, has this been confirmed mate? We've been running 6 but in the 5 raids we've entertained they've not managed to blow anything up yet... So I can't confirm one way or the other....

    Kinda important we know for sure - I'm reducing anchor numbers as a precaution.

    Bridger could we get a confirmation one way or the other - not asking for a fix (I'm a realist ) right now but just to know it IS or IS NOT a problem would be lovely.
  2. Meh! meh! and thrice meh!

    Evening guys - while you're all out earning lots of prestige for me to waste... sorry spend in the base I'm stuck at work... So I thought I'd make the time productive and give some clues as to what you can expect to see next in the base and when this might happen.

    Now that we've just bought the larger power room we have space for the Medium Generator (increasing our Power generated from 1000 to a nice 2500). This is an item we build from salvage (of which we have lots - After Aberrant and Alien tech btw - will trade other SGs for it if they have any) but need 1.7 mil of prestige to place (damn expensive installation engineers!)

    "So once we have more power we can fit the uber-gun of doooooom right Sparky?"

    Sadly not my young padawan. For with great power comes great responsibility... or in fact a need for great control (control! control! you must learn control!) The next level of supercomputer (the upgrade from the Spectrum ZX to the mighty Amiga 500) will again be a salvage build (again got all that stuff) but will need a measly 2 mil to pop in the base (plus 170k for a room I think)

    "So now can we have the guns Sparky? please please?"

    Err no.
    Well actually yes. Kinda. We could put 2 larger guns in place of the 2 little fellas we have at the moment (thats you Xip and Roasty ) But a) they wouldn't have the same comedic value as the above mentioned honorable members and b) we should probably save for a secure base which will allow our every surface to bristle with nastines.... Yes the tickling stick from hell could well get an outing yet.

    That aside my willpower will more than likely crumble when presented with a chance to stick a big gun in the base ("hmm are you compensating for anything here Sparky?") which hopefully a good beating from Kitty (god willing) will get me through.

    So - drifting slowly back to topic Say 2 weeks for the new generator, 3 more for the Control then 1 for the guns or a couple of months for the Secure room...

    That is of course unless better judgement prevails and the Devs up the amount of prestige.... go on Bridger, whisper sweet nothings in Statesman's ear for us.... you know you want to... In fact given a pound is 1.7877 to the USD at the moment I really think that us Union players should earn at 1.7 times the rate of our US compatriots with their slightly dodgy economy

    Thanks & Gratz to Kitty - base looking absolutely top notch!


    Base:
    As mentioned - new layout is now complete. For those who didn't raid last night (2 more wins an thanks again to our opponents) and the new layout seems to allow us to pounce on the enemy very quickly - nothing like killing stalkers before they even get a chance to hide

    Raid:
    As Kinslayer has kindly mentioned :P Bloodline are losing to, sorry..... raiding us on Thursday. 7:30 pm kick off guys so meet up about 7:15 to set teams. As many peeps as we can would be great. Thanks to Bloodline for challenging and I hope its a good match


    Events:

    I like Kitty's PvP training idea. Deffo a winner and could be good fun. I'm not going to be on tonight (Hold the front page - Sparky in RL shocker!) but I'm sure you'll amuse yourselves

    As for the idea of a second SG - I've toyed with the idea and like the potential for having a group to raid ourselves with - only downside is it diverts prestige earning from the main event We're not totally full yet (I see about 6 bods who would fall into the "inactive" category at the moment so if we need spaces I think we have them).

    I second Kittys point about being a little tougher on new starters in terms of making sure they fit our dynamic - that's the most important things - we have a really friendly (and TOTALLY depraved) atmosphere at the moment and I value that above all else.

    Anyway - enough yapping from me - I've got a couple of hours b4 I go to work so I'm gonna go earn some Prestige.

  4. Hey Guys, Todays update

    Base:

    Redesigned the layout last night - and not its not because I love the editor - far from it! Hopefully now its easier to navigate whilst still defensible.

    All fuctional items are in and we have our new larger power room ready for the bigger generator (I'd guess middle of next week at current prestige rate)

    Decorations will be done tonight.

    Events:

    Am available to run a SF / Respec tonight - whatever has the most demand - let me know in SG channel later.

    Raids:

    No luck finding anyone to raid us yet but I'm hearing a couple of other groups are nearly raid-ready so hopefully we'll get more takers soon.

  7. Hi and welcome to the D & V S Official Thread,

    Purpose of the thread is to allow us to:

    Organise Events & Raids
    Communicate Ideas (inc ideas for base items)
    Hurl abuse... oh no wait we do that anyway

    To start us off a couple of ideas I have (and they're only ideas - I'm after feedback from the SG members on this!)

    ORGANISATION:

    As we're growing (in fact are creaking at the seams) we need to make sure we have room for all our active players. To achieve that I'd like to suggest that we set it so that players who haven't been on for 15 days get bumped if we need to make a space (with an email being sent to tell them they're welcome back on their return!)

    Additionally I think we need a bit more organisation so I would suggest we try to limit or even reduce the number of overlords we have and change the permissions to be a bit more reflective of peoples ranks...


    EVENTS:

    Strike Forces and Respecs: I'm happy to run teams to do at least 1 of each a week. Don't mind which one people want. I'm sure others will also be happy to run some.

    Raids: Now we have a raid-capable base we should look for as many opportunities to raid and be raided as possible. So far we've been raided 3 times and raided another base once - All been good fun and thanks to the other SGs for participating. Any group fancying a raid please let me know here or in game (@Cold Spark)

    THE BASE:

    Now that we have a nice little base my ideas for next purchases are:

    Bigger Energy Room - to allow for Medium Generator and shields - Cost: 750k for the room and 1Mill to place Genny I think. Should take a couple of weeks but that's not bad really. That then opens the doorway (as we can't have doors ;p) For other things.


    Think that's the lot....

    Lets have some feedback - after all the group is its members collectively.

  8. Quick note to a) say thanks to MaxPowerz and the E.V.I.L SG for test-raiding with us Friday night - was a blast and we'll be up for it whenever u want - yes its buggy (the lack of join button on my GUI was a tad annoying - but the other Demons had fun.

    The join button bug has been fixed in an upcoming patch according to US boards - as has the one that randomly tps in people on the same team (I believe the intention is that peeps on the same team tp to same location), Understandably at the moment the random tping gives the defenders a hell of an advantage as the attackers are all split up.

    If any other SG's wanna have a test raid (or be raided) then by all means chuck me a tell on Union to @Cold Spark there's normally enough of us around for a team.

    This feature will make quite a difference to the game I think as it becomes more used (esp once the trial is up).

    Bridger don't suppose u could find out if prestige is going to get reviewed / has been reviewed in terms of the costs.... At the moment I don't think its at a very realistic level. Our SG is pretty active and we earn maybe 70k prestige an evening, 200k at a w/e. At that rate we'll all be old and grey before we get the super-uber mega secure base complete with sharks with frickin laser beams . Now I'm not saying reduce it hugely... I would say plots come down by a factor of 10, as does crafted item placing costs. Regular items maybe by a factor of 5. And/Or change the exchange rate on the inf transfer... working in the Foreign Exchange business I can say that I've never seen such highway robbery... actually that's a lie I see it every day :P but still....

    Speaking of base bits.... What's the chance of getting multi-level bases? Also water would be quite fun - some of the ladies in our group apparently want a jacuzzi (spelling anyone?) and who am I to deny them?

    Anyway - for what was going to be a quick post I'm clearly rambling and should shut up asap.
  9. I think ur right re putting non-secure rooms on a secure plot. I would say though that as you never really lose the prestige you spend, why not upgrade to a size up non-secure plot. I did this and put in a secure teleport room allowing some small defenses - which if nothing else look the mutts proverbials. Then when we're ready I can sell it all (you lose the salvage used to create personal items is all) and buy a secure plot.

    To be honest even if you buy a secure plot (and bankrupt yourself doing so) you'll have to save the same length of time again to kit it out (defenses use more energy than you would think - medium generator I think would be a must at least on the secure plots - our basic one is now maxed out on our non-secure plot with 3 tp 1 raid tp, 2 defense, medibay, supercomputer.

Just a thought but as the SGs start to be raid-ready over the next few months I thought it would be a laugh to have an insta-raid league on Union - nothing too serious just a sign up and play against each other team in a home and then away style... log the score on a webby somewhere...Maybe even some kind of badge for winning the league (hint hint!)
  11. You can put anchors in any room (possibly not the entrance room) limit is one per room (at least on all the room types I've used so far).

    Demons and Vengeful Spirits (the SG I'm part of on Union) now have a raid-ready base. We upgraded to the 3mio plot and were just about able to stick in what we need (even a couple of nasty surprises for attackers ) ie the anchors and the IoP base as well as the Raid TP

    (Bridger can we get the tech one downsized so its the same as the arcane - tis silly for them to be differing sizes and due to size contraints I had to use the arcane - kinda looks out of place.... not tooo bad as the arcane one looks very cool... just a niggle)

    If any union SGs fancy an insta-raid I would love to test the functionality out - likewise if anyone wants to be raided to test their base I'm sure I can rally a team for that at pretty short notice.

    Bring on the Cathedral - can't wait

  14. Well, Thought I would post again as my corruptor Doc Flame is 39 now and should hit 40 tomorrow sometimes Have to say its been the most enjoyable AT I've played.

    I stand by what I said originally but a couple of additions... The Thermal set is lovely - Devs please don't touch a thing - its not overpowered or underpowered - just right. Nice new animations (Melt Armour (UK spellings please!!!) is especially lovely)

    I've taken every power in Thermal plus about 6 Rads - with the Rad debuffs and Melt armour on mobs my teammates have no trouble slicing through +3/4s easy! Forge is very good too - pop 3 tohits enhancers in it and you can basically raise someones level 1 or maybe 2 in terms of damage and what they can hit - very useful - you'll be your dominators best friend for their holds to hit 1st time every time (which then saves your assets too!)

    Anyway - gonna sleep now - got 2 bars to get tomorrow... just need to find some victims... sorry teammates

    To all those I team with regularly - hulloo! to those I haven't yet had the pleasure of teaming with - hulloo too!

    Hmmm thermal epic set you say - YES PLEASE! (and please don't just copy the fire set....)
  15. Hey Guys - well I've gotten my Corruptor (Doc Flame on union) up to lvl 18 so far and had an absolute whale of a time with him. Thought I'd post my thoughts on tactics and why you might choose a corruptor. Just my thoughts mind and I'm open to everyone else having their own....

    So Doc is Rad/Thermal and is, primarily, a healer. I took both shields and heals and have slotted heavily - only the x-ray blast and now Cosmic blast which is... cosmic

    I've been playing in med-large teams - I do find that if I'm the only corruptor / healer on the team then when we're above 6 on the team I'm fully stretched when taking on +1 or +2s in terms of end running out and heals not recharging (Stamina is coming - Hasten prolly not).

    I've found that our role seems to be twofold. One we can direct the battle well cos we have a little bit more time than others to take stock of what's going on around us. Course it could just be that I'm a bossy so and so :P

    Secondly though we are able to turn a battle. Once the brutes and stalkers / MM Pets have gone in I follow right behind and heal to absorb the nme alpha strikes... then once we have more or less got things under control I use my limited (but very effective) blasts to start tipping the balance in our favour. Obviously watching end very carefully so I can spam both heals if I need to. Additionally I'm watching for nme with <1/3 health - these are "Scourgable" - and our role should be to try and take these out so that the close combat guys can move on to their next target.


    On the question of Pet buffing - personally I do - but I tell the MM's that its players first - ALWAYS. No-one has complained yet (at least not to my face )

    To close - great work devs, tough last few days but I'm enjoying myself immensely and I'm sure everyone else is too.
