A dev commented on this question (I believe it was Statesman) many moons ago that the 'faction switch' Trial will be the only way to, for instance, have a an Elec/Elec Blaster Villain. So you would remain an Emp/Rad Defender in your example, without any sort of Respec'ing required.

As to what game he belongs to if you were to cut back to one game... I would assume that the 'rogue' Defender would now be a Villain and part of the character database of CoV. I will make sure that this question is asked of the devs by thread or by PM for inclusion of the next '2005 Primer on CoV - How's This Gonna Work?' thread that'll be put out after the E3 Expo next month when the devs'll be less stingy with info.

This isn't really a new revelation, minMAX, but I share some of your concern. Too much reward for PvP and the company riles the PvE enthusiasts that have been the core fans, too little and the company doesn't expand the subscriber base.

I'm crossing my fingers that the devs will find the right mix.

You can pre-order games from any number of online retailers and several electronic gaming stores. They'll either take a deposit then and charge the rest when the game comes out, or they'll just take your credit card info and charge you when you pick up the game or when they ship the game to you.

I kinda remember that the Incarnate EAT (Statesman's AT) being specifically mentioned as NOT available with CoV. I think the Corollax EAT (mer-man?) is the one that is 'on deck' for this year.

I believe a dev has come out and said that they will not spend much time balancing PvP for 1-on-1 matches.

For devs that are accused of meddling too much (I disagree), balancing PvP for 1-on-1 is something even they don't want to deal with. There will always be certain 1-on-1 match-ups that lopsided without rewriting the game wholesale.

I guess the devs assume that heroes need to run. If you think in-game travel is slow before level 14, go for the testicular elephantitus option and eat RL dinner walking from city hall to the train. Or maybe they're waiting for the art department to finish the new bow-legged animations.

More than a few of the powers post-20 for many builds are situational. Like most status effect powers, Black Hole has a to-hit component and lessened effects vs. opponents of higher level or magnitude of resistance. Much like Dim.Shift, it's a resource hog. What's your complaint again?

Any way to compress the mp3 further? I'm downloading 2-hour shows from AirAmericaPlace and 1-hour FanboyRadio interviews at 12-14mb a pop. Going 16kbit Mono would save on the bandwidth and still have a very listenable file.
