  1. It would be nice if the devs added in more benefit to flooring enemy ToHit, whether accomplished through debuffs or defense. If they added a second ToHit check, for example, if the ToHit floor was 6.50%, the baddie's chance ToHit would only work out to around 0.42% with a second check. So you would drop them from 6.51% if they weren't quite all the way to the floor imediately to 0.42% once at the floor.

Of course any such change would apply to player ToHit as well, so hitting a critter who floors your ToHit (either with debuffs or their own defense) would be nigh impossible as well. But that would definitely feel more "super," in my opinion.
  2. My Elec/Mental is at 36 right now. The best way to play the combination (at least, in my experience) is with a combination of ranged and melee fighting. If you always stay at range, you lose a lot of damage potential. My single target chain utilizes Charged Bolts, Lightning Bolt, Subdual, and Mind Probe. For AoE I use Ball Lightning, Psychic Scream, and Short Circuit, and I will add Psychic Shockwave and Static Discharge once I level up enough to get them. When circumstances allow (endurance and aggro control, mainly), I add in World of Confusion for even higher DPS. The total amount of AoE available to the combination is impressive, and by moving from range to melee and back you can maximize your output.

Beyond power selection, if you venture into IOs you can garner some really interesting results. I have made Elec/Mental concept builds with as high as 55% damage bonus from set bonuses, which is more than a Tier 3 damage inspiration.

I love the potential my Elec/Mental has, and I strongly disagree that the two don't sync well. The huge AoE potential of the build is what attracted me to it in the first place, and it has not disappointed.

Did Anyone else notice it said 'Coming FALL 2007'? Does that mean we'll get it BEFORE December? X3

Technically, that means we'll get it before the winter solstice (December 22nd this year). I was hoping more along the lines of mid-November myself

As to the video, looks good! Lookin' forward to it.
  4. If you are interested primarily in +Recovery bonuses, might I suggest using 2 enhancements from the Tempered Readiness set instead? That set offers a +1.5% Recovery bonus, instead of the +1% of Bruising Blow, and TR goes all the way to level 50. A small difference, but every little bit can help.
  5. I'm not 100% certain, and I have by no means tested this in any traditional sense, but I'm pretty sure that Circle of Thorns and Council are always available for Paper/Radio missions. I can say with certainty that Council are available as radio missions from 30 upward, but since I avoid CoT like the plague I'm less confident about them.

That makes at least one group at every level range, which is plenty for me.

We'll be spending plenty of time fighting mobs as it is, there's no reason to make us trudge through a long, annoying TF again. At least not to get our first pieces...If we wanna go do it again then cool but those of us that can only bare to do the Hero-side TFs once (or however many times til we got badges) we shouldn't HAVE to do them again to get a piece for doing them...

I hate to play DEV-il's advocate, but that's the reason they put in the auction houses: so you don't have to run the TFs/Trials to get what you want.

That may not be what you want to hear as a response, but until someone convinces the Devs that Wentworth's isn't working their answer will be "You don't have to run the Trial, you can go buy one from Wentworth's!"

Only once I9 hits live and it becomes apparent that no one is giving up their rare recipes will any other solution be implemented.

  8. Very nice guide, this gives me a nice template form which to design my EM/ELA brute (once he gets beyond the conceptual phase). Thanks for the tips, and keep up the good work.
