  1. I can't help thinking that any sewer map is gonna be real interesting...
  2. Nice idea, but lets talk Arachnos Flyer before we worry about Caleb...

The issue is level 40 Paragon Protector Elites showing up in Crey missions targetted for 35+. It's not restricted to the Manticore TF. And specifically not restricted to the first mission of the Manticore TF. Change the spawn table for them to NOT be spawned at anything targetted at level 39 or lower and that should completely fix it.
Its happening outside the Manticore TF too, particularly with some redside arcs. Hopefully fixing the root cause for the one correct them all.
  4. The girl still has it.

Limitations considered, that thing had flair, and was well directed.
Be fun to see it again when beta lets you get the real models.

People who frequent the market forum will mostly be aware that the 35-39 range is a better bet due to several popular recipes that cap out at 35 or 40 (Kinetic Combat, Touch of Death and Miracle being the primary examples). However if you don't really follow the market you might not realize this and therefore choose to roll 46-50 believing that's where the good stuff is.

The amount of action and the generally higher prices at level 50 provide an incentive to generate recipes at the upper end of the level range.
OK, you both did a good job capturing what was unformed in my head. I "knew" level 50 recipes seemed to be in stable supply, but couldn't put my finger on why. Probably because I always roll in the 30-34 or 35-39 range.

    thanks.

Also, top level rare tech salvage is now about the same price as top level rare magic salvage. I'm sure there's more, but those are the main things I've noticed.
The other big thing I have noticed is that supply of recipes that cap out at 40 have nearly dried up (Touch of Death I'm looking at you). These seem to be coming into the market slower - a combination of things I imagine, but not sure I can put my finger on it.

You could structure it team free, similarly to the fire event in Steel Canyon.

In fact, this suggestion reminded me of the Steel Canyon fire, only more, as soon as I read it. Could work.

  10. Was just wondering...

A comment I read somewhere from Herocon said that we will get power customization for the pool powers.

Is it possible that [Ninja Run] is the first effort to try new animations with movement powers? Is it reasonable to wonder if this means that - like taunt and some punches have alternate animation choices - travel powers may get options with customization?
  11. Like Princess Bride for quote sources, "game over, man!" from Aliens gets quoted a lot in my circle of friends, I'll toss in another vote that Second Hand Lions is very good and those quotes were excellent.

We like to add "mostly" to anything someone says is always or mostly true, of course we say it the same way Newt said it in the movie.
So much win with this. We do exactly the same thing.

I'd say that this is more than a movie line/quote, and doesn't quite fit. However, this is in my top movie scenes of all time. If not number one. A fantastic moment. So moving.

    Oh, its easy to explain.

The faithful followers of Emperor Cole are attempting to communicate their message of hope, peace, and justice.

The misguided members of the resistance are attempting to pawn their failed propoganda on the unsuspecting heroes of Paragon City.

I can't direct you to any links, but I know I've seen it in other anime (did notice the Dragonball Z callout later in the thread).

And, further, I have actually seen this run style in live action movies also. Not quite so 'over the top' as CoH's, which is clearly more anime inspired, but real-world examples, nonetheless.

    It is awesome isn't it?
Was playing with my 50 claws/SR scrapper that has been running around within sprint this whole time. [Ninja Run] boosted him up to 69.something mph. It was fun.

Roof top jumping is tons of fun - not too proud to admit that I wasted time in KR for a bit.

I didn't envisions needing to randomly run across clues for the lead, or to have to put them together yourself, as that's very much out of the scope of what the game seems to have (not that I'd be opposed to it) and instead imagined just having a recipe drop on you, and having three extra missions open up as soon as it happens. Each mission would give you a "salvage-clue" at the end that you can then use to put the "recipe-lead" together and get one more mission where you finish the thing.
Sorry, I may have been oversimplifying my comments regarding the randomness factor.

The initial lead/recipe would have some random element tho, once you accept(?) the lead with a mission computer though I would see it handing out the next components/salvage in some structured form.

hmmm, running with a thought here without thinking it through.
What if the lead really were a recipe? But the salvage to craft it were something like they give out for the Lost Curing Wand - you only get the items for completing specific tasks and not tradable... So your recipe (clue) would trigger a specific set of missions in a PD terminal, mission computer, or whatever.

Complete the missions, get the salvage, craft the enhancement. Now you could slot or sell it.

Does this take the idea too far? (I have never played another MMO besides CoX. Is this too 'loot' like in other games?)

    Oh, I agree completely.

I was just thinking of possible counters to the idea is all. And someone with a small solo base could easily hang their hat on that piece of it.

I think the idea of the lead/clues approach has real merit.

A lot of players may ignore them, but for those that like puzzles or have played the normal approach to death so far, this could be a neat carrot to get out there and beat the streets.

I agree the mission computer would be perfect for this, however, that leads to the possible opposition:
    • What if my base doesn't have a mission computer? (off the cuff response - abandoned labs in the Isles could have one, or the university could have a dedicated station)
    • If the initial lead drops randomly, then I'll miss an opportunity. (again off the cuff, but if any permanent reward was temporary or tradable you wouldn't be 'denied' anything. Plus if there were a couple of stories per villain group then the opportunities could devleop them throughout your career, and it sounds like a nice way to further promote altitis to find that content you 'missed'.)

For -heal, yes. But if the healing isn't hitting Rommie, than the -Regen on Rommie is more useful.

Venture, I haven't always agreed with your reviews/styles in the past, and said so on occasion in various posts. However, for whatever little it is worth, this thread includes informative reviews with good tone overall. Ignoring the sidebar distraction in here that does not involve your reviews, I say keep it up.

And further, I smiled and thought "Even Venture cannot resist the power of Sister Flame!"
  23. Nice thought, Kahlan, I never thought about taking advantage of the -dmg on the Mire. And frequently when things have gone wrong on an ITF for me before its due to that nasty auto-hit too. Nice thought.
  24. Either works.

When I run on the ITF with my cold characters, if the team gets Rommy well positioned (on the roof edge or with the healing nictus taunted away) I hit Rommy. If the team is trying to out DPS the heals then the nictus gets it.
