Pets? Really? There's a reason I don't play MM.
This is sounding more and more "grindy" to me. The entire concept of incarnates is just one big grind. I can't remember the last time I ran through a story arc, satisfied with it's conclusion and what it meant to my character. That's my fault for getting caught up in the must-have-shards-NAO! mentality.
Getting threads and going on raids just seems more of the same grind. Thankfully, I can ignore or join that as I please. But, I know...I just know I'll be compelled to get all the incarnate slots for at least one or two of my fifties. But, now with Pets being the Lore slot, I think I can resist that compulsion.
So...er...thanks? -
I'm not a Marvel fan. But, I like a good movie. Thor looks good. Based on the trailers I'll buy a ticket just as I did with Iron Man. I am a DC fan but based on the trailers I won't be buying a ticket to GL. It looks bad, the casting seems off (especially for Carol.).
Thor - yea
GL - nay -
For badges try Virtue Badges. It's mature and the people there are very helpful.

I do prefer Air Superiority over Hover for those times when I need to finish someone off in melee.
I have taken leadership with my scraps but I'm not sure if I should with a blaster. I'm pretty firm on what powers I'll take within arch and devices. I'm just having an issue with power picks and epic power pools. -
I'm contemplating a respec on my level 44 arch/dev due to the new(ish) fitness inherent. What I can't decide is what would be the most helpful to fill those spots. Leadership? Fighting? Hasten?
Once I respec, I'll delve into IO sets for her which is why I haven't posted her current build. I haven't done anything with her on those lines but I've been scouring already posted builds to get a good idea of which sets will make her a enemy melting range machine. I just haven't been able to find anything really recent. Perhaps my search fu is on the fritz!
Thanks for the help and suggestions. -
Born and raised in Northwest Ohio, lived for years in Kalamazoo with lots of snow every season. Now I'm in south central Indiana where we get more ice than anything else.
I'd much rather have all the snow. Right now we've got a nice ice storm settling in. I'm just hoping we don't lose power later. -
I've deleted three so far. The first was my first tank who got the ax when they changed energy melee. I didn't want to play her so she went. The next two just weren't getting played. They funded some new characters.
I also deleted a 49.5 blaster. She'd been 49.5 for over a year. I couldn't find enough interest to level her that last bit.
If you don't play them, then why keep them? Use the enhancements and influence for another character that you will play. -
Sooooo funny.
Beacuase the voices where pretty good!
(translation: the voice work was stellar) -
I'm not going to be drawn into an argument about whether or not the OP assumes this or that.
I'm saying, in my opinion, that thinking a player is an ERPer based on a blurb in their bio saying the character is married is ridiculous. It's reaching at the very least. I disagree with this viewpoint.
Married means married, nothing more and nothing less.
I've got nothing more to add. This is just my opinion just as the list of bio etiquette is the OPs. -
Quote:If memory serves, nobody said married character = ERP, they said married characters may be perceived as ERP-friendly by some people.
As stated in the first post by Silver Gale:
You will be assumed to be an ERPer unless stated otherwise. You will get invites to play Uno. Yes, even if your character's married.
Mighty strong assumption. -
A married character does not say that the player is into ERP. Or even if they do venture into ERP, that they're going to jump all over everyone on the team.
I have a married character. I don't say so in the bio because, frankly, it doesn't affect anyone I team with in a fighting situation. But, even if I did mention it in her bio don't get the idea that she's going to wink saucily at RandomHeroGuy and offer to do him behind the tram.
I vehemently disagree with married character = ERP assertion.
(Foghorn Leghorn voice: "Vehemently, I say, vehemently!") -
Or Seth Rogan could be full of it and this is complete bull. Cause messing with Rogan could be fun.

Quote:Dream Park is one book I can and do read over and over again. The thought of it being made into a movie is terrifying (how many ways can they screw it up) and thrilling (but if it was done properly...whee!).Hmmm...
Westworld: Although I'd much rather see Larry Niven's "Dream Park" on the big screen, it's old enough that an updated remake would be a nice thing, as long as they leave Crichton's story alone. No "virtual reality" crap. No 3d gimmick. Just robots running amok with unlikely heroes worked then, it'll work now. One recommendation... keep Yul Brenner as Gunslinger, through the magic of CGI. -

M.A.C. cosmetics are not for little girls. They're on the expensive side and quality. You don't buy them in the grocery store.
I think it's fun. I'd love to have a single piece. It's no different than my WW keychain or notepad. Good makeup in a fun package? Sounds good to me.
Bats, GL and Supes are on every product imaginable so why can't Wondie be on a limited edition line of makeup? She can, she is and I hope they release more female superhero related products. I want a Huntress snuggie, darnit! -
Good to see you guys still discussing this. I've come to the conclusion that it's not that the set is squishy (KM/FA) but it's the "feel" of it for me. I certainly understand building to compensate for holes in a set. Invulnerability, SR, etc. all have holes which I've considered in my builds and those characters have flourished. I enjoy playing them and improving their builds as I can.
The feel of /FA just doesn't satisfy whatever it is I look for in a melee set. I can't get into /dark either to my consternation (the concepts I've had to push aside because of it!). Shield is a wonderful set that a lot of my friends adore. Not for me. But I had a friend cringe when they found out I'd leveled a DM/Reg scrap to 50. They hated that combo. It's just a matter of taste or as I call it, "feel".
I am encouraged to roll more brutes now. You guys have been so helpful and this discussion has been so interesting to read. Now, if I could only learn to love /dark, I'd be realllllly happy. -
How to Avoid Husband Aggro:
Flash the girls. Placated. Usually works for a mission or two.
Actually the best thing is to plan TF's around sports. "Go ahead and watch football, honey. I'll find something to do." /broadcast Level 50 scrap LFT
I do miss football sometimes, though. -
Okay, I'm feeling my way through a build. I've found a few KM/FA scrap builds but they don't seem to have much knockback protection.
-
je saist, I really appreciate your response. I am not a new player but I've only leveled one brute before this attempt. /Fire is one of the few sets I haven't leveled. I read and read before rolling her and thought I understood exactly what to expect. I was wrong. I do plan on using the incarnate system with this character.
I'm finding the long animations of KM aren't meshing well with a squishier secondary. At least not for me. I'm sure there are others who are excelling with this play style. I don't think I can accept having to use a self-rez as one of my damaging powers. You've given me a lot to consider. -
I have combat jumping already. Eight points of knockback protection, got it. I'll grab that and see if that makes a difference in the way she feels. Maybe it's the pairing with Kinetic Melee that isn't working.
If I still don't like it, I can always reroll. Twenty levels isn't too bad to repeat. Thanks for the responses. -
I have my own personal SG. Seriously? You have to use an empowerment station and rely on inspirations to make up for /fires holes? Yikes.
-
My KM/Fire brute is level 22. She feels so squishy. Does it get better? The same? How do you deal with the holes in /fire? I really don't want to reroll her.

Oh, crap.

Don't worry about finding an SG right away. Look around, take your time. I'm currently SG-less and I'm finding RP when I want it.
I'm open to a good, solid, fun SG but it isn't necessary to engage in quality RP. -
You never know where you'll find rp. I joined a LGTF PuG and there were four people rping. They obviously knew each other well and had been rping together for a while. I jumped right in and started rping, too. Eventually two of the other three non-rpers started participating, too. It was the most fun I've ever had on an LGTF.
Be open to rp where ever it may appear. Yes, there are a lot of already established groups on Virtue. I think you'll find that most are very welcoming to other rpers. A few aren't but they're the exception rather than the rule.
