Though if he DOES... it's your fault, dude.

I wish people didn't have to be that acidic.
And if they hurt themselves, that's all they've done. They are not attacking you or any of your ilk in any way (aside from maybe GG, and seriously, go nuts at her), but you see fit to demean them for their audacity to hold hope.

The only real difference between you and me (from an opinion standpoint at least) is that I don't feel the need to tell somebody they're stupid for attempting a project that I don't think will succeed. Even if it doesn't succeed to their current expectations, they'll gain experience which they can apply elsewhere in their careers and lives. And for some reason, you think that's a bad thing.

I seem to recall a lot of temper tantrums from unhappy PVPers (and one former community rep), not unlike that which you and others have been criticizing the Titan group over. Both groups have a history of calling for the blood (or at least job) of the person/people responsible for the decision.

Why there's some need to paint one group as heroes and the other as villians is beyond me. In both groups/cases, there were extremely vocal detractors acting like babies and those who politely argued their position. Guess which group gets noticed more and thus paints public opinion of their entire faction?
  4. Hey fellow badgers!

I still need the Triple Threat badge to complete my main character's collection. Unfortunately, after trying to schedule an event on my home server for this past weekend, there just wasn't enough turnout to get it done.

So I turn to you all to ask: which of your servers still has enough active Incarnates left to get this done reliably? And preferably by the end of this weekend?

(I also know that SyrusBLiz [@Liz] is looking for the badge as well on her main villain, so hopefully the scheduling works out.)

You have to realize that anyone who brings up such a thing generally thinks "anyone who likes the devs more than me is a butt kisser." And they are usually indifferent about the development team at best.

Nobody else thinks badly of you. Even if you are an overzealous fangirl.

Pretty much everyone I know in-game from CoH, with the exception of 5 or 6 people who are also playing Aion or GW2, intends to avoid NCSoft products, and maybe one or two of them are being militant about it. The rest--myself included--are fine with taking our money elsewhere and not shouting at everybody else about it, nor are any of us that I know of involved with Titan.

It sucks that CoH is closing, and NCSoft kinda sucks as a publisher (at least here in the west, since that's the only point of view we ever really get of them), but that doesn't mean we're all going to kick and scream about the fact that other people want to play their remaining titles... which of course happen to be employing studios full of people.

Believe me or not, but I had lunch with Black Pebble this weekend and he said this definitely was NOT the case. According to him, Paragon was still maintaining a profit while working on both of their non-CoH projects. (Mind you, neither were MMOs, and therefore would not, presumably, require as high a budget as CoH.)

I chose to take him at face value, but you can decide whatever you want with that information.

I feel you dude. I'm 32, and I'm constantly being mistaken for about 24. But look at the bright side--you can still date college girls and no one will think you're creepy!

    Happy birthday.

Crabtree is a good choice for a meet-up; it's right off I-440 on Glenwood Avenue, and there's a lot of food options there. I highly recommend Kanki (Japanese steak house), but there's a reasonably-sized food court, a Cheesecake Factory, a PF Chang's, and also some nicer/pricier dining options just outside the mall if people want to go that route.
  11. As I mentioned elsewhere, I tried to buy 15x Focused Rage Team Inspirations this weekend and didn't get them either.

I think that legally they have to archive the data for something like 2 or 5 years, but I think you're right otherwise. NCSoft wants this swept under the rug ASAP.

But you can have a go **** yourself too, if you like. I've seen plenty of your ****** attitude in the last few weeks to know that you've earned it.

Oh man, that is the worst. I've gotten **** from just about every boss I've ever had because they start talking about going to church, and then ask what church I go to and I'm like, "Um, I don't."

It's easy to understand the side we stand on but is harder to understand the other side. But when that happens, ten times as much progress can be done then keeping the division.
A difference in culture doesn't change the fact that NCSoft ****** up. It adds to the understanding of why the mistake happened, but it doesn't excuse it. Especially after ignoring the people whom they pay to advise them on such situations.

Most (myself included) would still argue that the business decision to close down Paragon Studios and City of Heroes was made in poor judgment, but I don't think anyone can argue that they handled the resulting closure terribly, alienated a large part of the community, and made other development studios wary of partnering with them.

My projection for the next few years is that ArenaNet is purchased or liberates itself from NCSoft in mid to late 2014, then NCSoft West closes shop in late 2015, taking Aion, Lineage and any other properties it has running at the time to the grave. NCSoft prime will continue to be successful in Korea and the Asian market, and will only ever return to the West through loosely-affiliated subsidiaries.
  23. Now that you mention it, I purchased 15x Focused Rage Team Inspirations last night, I was charged for them, but they never arrived in my character item box.

And it would have been a debate that sprung up out of nowhere. It would have been because of the comment.
You've developed a reputation that you're obviously aware of, but I for one wouldn't have assumed racism as a motivating factor if you'd posted exactly what Terwyn had.

What he said absolutely was not wrong, it was just poorly phrased (and I actually read it as he had intended). The former Paragon Studios team told us as much--there is a disconnect between Eastern and Western business practices, and a large part of the reason they dropped communication is because NCSoft doesn't understand us and has no idea what to do. And obviously, doing nothing was among the worst they could have done in regards to this community.

NCSoft is going to continue developing games that it understands for a market that it understands, and NCSoft West will eventually disappear as a result.

Black Pebble told me the other day that a big part of the "refocusing efforts" from NCSoft's headquarters are to begin developing for the Chinese, who have similar tastes in both gameplay and business practices to Koreans.
