Quote:I know others have pointed out that there are ways to make a hero based on one of the above themes, but don't forget that there's a playable VILLAIN side to the game, too.This. What part of a chainsaw-wielding maniac or hockey-stick-swinging pothead screams superhero?
And if you really need examples of chainsaw-wielding heroes?

Quote:Actually, I'd really like an entire sports-themed costume set at some point. (Particularly for the implications of a sports jersey in my case, but I digress.)I think we should get a Hockey Stick for Staff, for thematic purposes.
A hockey stick alone doesn't particularly say "post-apocalyptic" to me. Maybe a broken hockey stick that's been tied back together and has blades or spikes attached to it. -
Quote:That's like when a boy has to explain the difference between Goku's different Super Saiya(ji)n forms, right?[3] I had to explain the difference between Sailor Moon, Super Sailor Moon and Eternal Sailor moon today to Positron.
I kid, I kid! Happy birthday, Hosun! -
My question is, why didn't we get a chance to vote on different costume part options like we did for the Retro Sci-Fi set? There are a few things that were brought up at the panel that I'd rather see than what you've decided on.
Not that I'm really complaining about what's in the list--I actually really like the set as listed (and am highly looking forward to the chainsaw Titan Weapon). It's just that you didn't come to us like last time for more feedback on the "player-created" costume set. -
Quote:Judging from the way the OP said "all pieces are dirty, there won't be clean versions," I'm gonna say no.Non-female mask that's... ACTUALLY a mask! O_O
is there a 'clean' version of it or are we stuck with the grimy look?

When I farmed for the Heavy badges, I went in advertising free PVP rep. It obviously depends on other players feeling... "generous" about leaving you to your chosen activities... but it's faster than droning yourself.

Quote:It's Win XP, 32-bit, which caps out at 3.25GB. An extra 256MB isn't really going to increase performance noticeably. You're sitting at 3Gb of ram which is OK, but you may wanna consider going to atleast 4Gb if possible.

The rest of the issue reminds me of what I used to see when I got a video crash: loud, stuttering noise for several seconds (or longer if I didn't Ctrl+Alt+Del out), though mine was often accompanied by a plain colored screen after a few moments, followed by a "CityOfHeroes.exe closed unexpectedly, blah blah blah" error message.
Just make sure you're on a recommended driver for your hardware (unfortunately, I don't follow the NVIDIA threads, as I use ATI hardware currently). Some drivers definitely work better than others when playing CoH, since it is an OpenGL game and all. -
Quote:Just to be fair, I built my Grav/Kin specifically to be a support character, and it's amazing. And if you ever call a controller a support character again........
That's the nice thing about Controllers, though... there are a lot of different ways to build one. They can be focused on pure offense and kick all the ***, or focused on pure support, or anywhere in between. I've got a very damage-oriented Fire/Kin, and a few other Controllers who fall in the middle of the spectrum.
I think one of the reasons I like Controllers so much is that they offer the greatest playstyle variety of any AT (without devolving into an aberrant style like a "blapper"). -
So glad to hear you're alright, Chazz.
I have a childhood friend who lives near the theater who opted not to see the film last night because of work this morning. Though we're not terribly close anymore, I was still very glad to find out that she's safe. -
Mids' almost always reflects what's in the live game (or the very recent history of the live game), NOT the future of the game.
So I'd say it's either a bug in Mids' or it actually doesn't benefit from Alpha recharge abilities. -
Quote:I've got a friend who didn't get a code but DID re-tweet the post within the 5 minute time limit (according to him), IS following you and is NOT on a protected account. Many people who re-tweeted the post were unable to receive a code from us for a couple of reasons
- Not following us on Twitter (we can't DM you if you're not a follower)
- Protected account (we can't see the re-tweet if the tweets are hidden)
(Of course, I got mine on Friday, and I have another friend who did get one Monday.) -
Quote:Thanks for the head's up, I'll fix that right now.Last week when the web grenade was the freebie, I noticed it also got added to the regular purchases section: Powers -> Temporary Powers -> Combat Powers, 80pp for 5 charges. I just checked and it's still there, but not listed in your spreadsheet. Thought I'd let you know.

Quote:Doesn't really matter how good they are for your performance, just their rarity in-game. They unfortunately don't put Uncommon enhancements up for sale in the Paragon Market very often. And yet for a lot of ranged damage characters it's a better option than most of the ones that are on sale.
-
Only Ranged Damage enhancements are on sale this week, not Targeted AoE enhancements.
It's not Rare or Very Rare.

It's Tuesday again, meaning it's NEW STUFFS DAY!

Only the bundles are new for each of these; the costume pieces themselves have already been available individually.
Just as a reminder, here are the contents of the costume bundles above, in the order of: Alpha and Omega, Chainmail and Leather Armor, Justice and Sinister and finally Olympian Guard...
Additionally, the Halloween Bats Aura is back in the store this week to celebrate the release of... a certain comic book-related film.

Quote:True dat, when my last antivirus solution expired (despite being "free for life to Road Runner subscribers" when I first picked it up back in 2007), I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials, figuring that if it didn't work out after a month or so that reformatting my drive wouldn't be such a bad thing.I have found that MSE is good for a free AV and when all the major computer website and magazines says it works well I m going to use it.
And it found stuff that Norton has missed.
That was about 4 months ago, and I've had no problems with it whatsoever. (Of course, I also generally practice safe browsing habits and know not to click on suspicious links in emails or pop-up ads.) -
First of all: WALL OF TEXT. Use some spacing, damn.
Completing either Penelope Yin's TF or Sister Psyche's defunct TF will award credit towards Task Force Commander. If it's not showing up as credit, then send a bug report. (But first, make sure you actually have the following badges in your Accomplishment tab -- Positron's Ally, Synapse's Cohort, Citadel's Assistant and either Sister Psyche's Comrade or Penelope Yin's Friend. It's always possible you misremembered getting the badge on that character, or didn't receive it due to a connection issue or something.)
If you further run Manticore and Numina and still don't receive Task Force Commander, then send in a second bug report AND a petition to have them award it to you. -
So what code did they give out earlier? More Dark Matter auras?
EDIT: Nevermind, just got answered on Twitter...
Quote:Many people have asked what the code was for earlier. It's for a Dark Matter aura. Picture attached! #cityofheroes pic.twitter.com/XGBCPU7V
