Celtic's SearchFu is strong. Is this still being considered?

Great...now I'm personally linked to Thread Necromancy...
  2. No, Mr. McGrubbington...you can't have any more cake!

Long enough to figure out that I meant FoJ when I posted that...

Since when does Celtic still play?

And that ordering is completely wrong.

*looks over thread for a possible new VG to join*

    [/ QUOTE ]

I play for about an hour each weekend...but only if lucky. (3 AP classes, sports, a broken ankle, and community service suck away free time).

Oh...and the order is out...Hamster, Kong, and I should be the first three...with Krole up there too...kind of....
  6. There are Kheldian (PB) NPCs that we have to fight now!

That was worse than my Howling Twlight in the threads (I rezzed about 6-7 yesterday and got a warning )

    I've gotten a warning, too...but it wasn't for necromancy.

What I can say is I can no longer play they way I had for the 1 year and a half when I got to Lvl 50. It was fine for that time frame, why is it bad now?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, nothing's changed about the game mechanics at all since launch. Nothing new has been learned about powers or about how powers work together, nothing's changed about xp rewards, and no isolated gaming of the system has gone mainstream. You're right. It's all about screwing with your head because the devs have said, "This time - it's personal!"

Welcome to MMOGs. Gameplay may change over time no matter which one you pick.

HOWEVER we (Pro-Isolators) can and will continue to come up with creative ideas for obtaining the Isolator badge. So get used to it.

Fair enough...I will, so long as you don't ask for my opinion on anything else.

    Another idea for Isolator!

The Abandoned Sewer System is underneath the entire city, so why not have an entrance in Outbreak!

IIRC, heroes that reach level 35 can enter the Abandoned Sewers. They would have to find the route to Outbreak and would exit a manhole cover in the street. They would be autoexemped to level 1 upon entry.

They could take out 100 contaminated, get the badge, and the only way back to the city would be back through the Abandoned Sewers.

The manhole would only work for L35+ so level 1s wouldn't be able to use it.

This would also be a way to help teach friends that are new to the game. You could meet them in the tutorial and show them the ropes!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Liquid & Celtic,
What do you think of this idea?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I hate it. Why? Well, because it lets the squeaky wheel get the grease.

You [censored], whine, moan, and further prod just to get something your way, and people are [censored] tired of it! You're being selfish in having a "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" mindset, and what's it for? A bit of virtual stupidity!

In two-five years, this game may not even exist anymore. Hell...it may not exist as of this Sunday, and yet, all you can think about is wasting, yes, that's right, WASTING, company resources for a tiny, insignificant item that doesn't give you anything other than a title (one that most people won't bother using).

Seriously...nobody is going to think "Ooooh...that guy has isolator AND all of the other badges...he must be cool"; if anything, they'll be saying, "Wow...he's taken the time to get isolator and every badge in the game? It looks like somebody needs a life."

As to wasting company resources, many of you have said, "What about the other events? Pocket D? PDP?" Well...I have news for you--I don't like those either! The PDP actually had a use, though. It was a preliminary test for the devs to see how they could make, and intrigue people into going to, a neutral zone. That zone would later turn into Pocket D, which is a neutral zone which has actual use for both villains and heroes.

The isolator badge, though? It has no real use.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Damn hoss, could you be any more rude?

people are sharing ideas and thoughts and all you can do is criticize.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Look at what I quoted...it asked me my opinion on it.

I gave my opinion, and you may not like it, but it's not going to change. It's called the other side of an arguement.

    1) Oh, I caught it on Page 2, all right. But it didn't take long for you and your cohorts to sink into repeating mean-spirited drivel like this:

I'll have you know I'm nobodies Cohort. If anything, Celtic is MY Cohort.

Cryptic will never do the datamining necessary to verify that these people are worthy of the Isolator badge; If you were in the same boat, wouldn't you feel just the slightest bit ripped off?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, considering I *did* defeat all those Contaminated back with my first character. And I'm one of the "Anti-Isolators".

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The same applies for me.
  14. It's sad that there's no mention of the Blood of the Black Stream from them...so far, only the Hellions and the Minion of Rularuu are the hints in the game about the BotBS.

Congrats, you can navigate to the last page of the forum and make a post in an ancient thread. You could just make a new thread explaining to the forum at large that you're a moron and save the mods the trouble of locking this thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't need to create a new thread to explain I'm a moron. People have known that since day 1, bloke.

Also, this is a thread of congratulations, not a thread of name calling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure, in a two your old thread. Do you have a bridge you'd like to sell too?

This is thread bumping for the love of thread bumping. Nothing more.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I'm sorry that you don't seem to understand this:

I enjoy to read through all of the old threads. I seemed to have missed this one, and I was merely congratulating Gaffer on his promotion.

Also, in case you didn't know, it's not "thread bumping".

    [ QUOTE ]
    3. No spamming or thread bumping.

There are no circumstances under which spamming or thread bumping is acceptable. If you ask a question on the board (not answerable by the Customer Service Knowledge Base) and it hasn’t been addressed by a moderator, there is a reason for that (or there is not an answer currently available). bumping or spamming will not make the answer appear any faster, so please refrain from doing it. This includes, but is not limited to: comments not contributing to the board, advertisements, cross posts, and messages posted repeatedly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I never advertised anything, I never cross-posted, I enver repeated anything in this thread, and I'm pretty sure that this contributes to the board.

[edit] - The problem is Isolator doesnt fit into special event category of badges in any case. Special event badges are available to anyone present at the time they are implemented no matter the level. Isolator is the only non-PvP badge not attainable after 'outleveling' it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Nope. There's also "Jail Bird", the COV Tutorial-only badge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Jail Bird is different from Isolator in that everyone has a chance to get it on their villain, except for a Hero -> Villain transfer...maybe...

My suggestion is about as assanine as asking the devs to hand it over

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, don't sink to his level! I know you can spell "assanine" correctly!
  20. [ QUOTE ]

Now that is the most assanine thing I have heard of.

You want the badge then delete your level 50 and start from scratch!

What? You are sick! Do you realise the time and effort many people put into getting their hero to level 50 only to delete it to get a badge.

Ya know, i was going to be civil with you until i read that part of your post....

nevermind you, not even worth talking to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Um..I do believe that your response was quite...what's the word? Oh yes..."assanine"....yes..it was "assanine" as well.

    A) Badges started in issue 2.

    B) Not a single badge collector would have a single holiday event badge when Isolator came out.

    C) If someone wanted to get the badge on their badge collector, they had from September 16th, 2004 to October 31st, 2004 to restart their character. (45 days).

    D) Yes...we know how much time it takes to get a character to 50. I started in the headstart, and I got my first 50 the week before Christmas of 2005.

    E) I know at least 3 people off the top of my head who restarted their characters to get Isolator. They loved the names, and that was their main reasons. (Pharacus, Phelicia, and Kat's Eye), and, upon level 50, they made their server announcement of leveling, and then promptly deleted the characters. They remade them, recieved Isolator, and now currently have all of the badges in the game.

So...is it now "assanine" to have such a comment?

Has anyone else noticed that the people who are pro-Isolator are posting their reasonings, trying to make comparisons and generally being nice, tactful and civil about it? "I think the Isolator should be accessible under this and that circumstances...."

And the people who are anti-Isolator are pretty much being a pack of hostile, unreasoning, bullying, dismissive jackholes? "Just shut your mouth and suck it the hell up, n00b. Because I said so."

I'm sure there's a comparison to be made here, too. But I'll leave that open to interpretation.

Yeah. Pretty peculiar, huh? It makes you think.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep...it also makes you think how many people actually read my post pretty close to the beginning of this thread of why it shouldn't be in the game.

Oh...did you happen to miss it? Here you go:

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree with the sentiment that the resources would be better allocated in other endeavors. However, it doesn't hurt to let people think and/or dream out loud.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh...that I know...just check out the link in my sig. I'm REALLY dreaming out loud there.

How about this instead, they turn faultline into a +40 zone and have those contaminated guys running around in there. That zone is basically going to waste anyways and usually by then everyone will have 2 travel powers or they will have help to get around in there.
