Wouldn't count on an AoE immob. It's way too freakin' cool on Brutes for use with Burn.

Fireball damage is nice. But, it isn't aoe-immob + burn nice.
  2. I'm currently hunting the sound for the Widow claw redraw. It's kind of a "snickt" sound. Redrawing every few seconds on a Fortunata using Poison Dart is too annoying with that noise.

If anyone can speed my search, I'd appreciate it.

    edit: Nevermind, I found it.

    Widow Claw redraw: Powers\Claw1b
  3. Thanks for all the input. Several ideas to work from now.

    Hmm....

    http://twitter.com/TheDarkWatcher

It would seem even Beta Testers can't get in, based on the last comment.

I need to figure out how to post a link as text on this new forum. Oh well.
  5. Hrm... Interesting idea. Don't know why I hadn't even considered the single target attacks in the PPPs. I had been looking at Ball Lightning for another AoE without even considering the single target attack(s).

    Thanks!
  6. Contemplating PD versus Mental Blast. I realize that PD redraws each time. Anyone have any idea exactly what to add in for that animation time wise?

PD = 1.5 sec animation (1.716 arcana time)
MB = 1.67 sec animation (1.848 arcana time)

I'm thinking the redraw has to add more than the 0.132 difference. But, PD does more damage thanks to the DoT. I'm just not sure if it's enough more, even before figuring on if I can stand the constant redraw.

Then, there's the lethal+toxic versus another pure psi damage attack. Having the other damage type could be nice against heavily psi resistant foes.

I think I like the -25% regen more than the -30% recharge slow, in general.

Anyone care to weigh in? I'm fairly torn.

I'm going for a fairly inexpensive build that will chain one of these two with TK+DOM+Subdue, in case that matters to your input.

Hah. Me too. I even unchecked, logged out, relogged and checked it. Didn't help.

I'm most interested to see what they did with Tankers (and others) Electric Armor. Is CP still in the list? Can't wait to see.
  9. If you look 3-5 posts back and note the "Date", this post is quite old (2+ years).

A lot of the sets in your build didn't exist back then. A lot of the possibilities when building with IOs hadn't been realized yet.

You should probably post that up in the Tanker forum if you really want a review, instead of in a necro'd thread (albeit a very good old thread).

edit: I see you have already done so. Good luck.

It is my understanding that AVs softcap at 42.5 anyways.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In addition to Sarrate's comments above, this stands out to me.

    This is wrong.

At the 5% to-hit floor, a mob's accuracy bonus gets multiplied in. This gives an AV/EB, especially with +levels, 7.5%+ final hit chance, varying somewhat with the exact accuracy bonus.

At 7.5% (50 - 42.5) to-hit, that same accuracy multiplier will put them at 10%+ final hit chance.

It's not a world of difference, but saying an AV is capped by 42.5% defense is incorrect.
  11. Also worth considering, in addition to the good advice above, is removing the 3rd slot from Stamina and Tough Hide.

The 3rd level 50 IO doesn't net you a terribly big boost. It is often well worthwhile to do with 2 L50s and use the slot(s) elsewhere.

    Dual Pistols

I think the Nuke will be a cone a la Full auto.

They could do a PBAoE where you spin around (typhoon's spin/attack animation with guns instead of dual blades), but I expect the cone.

Wait, why is Maelstrom's Origin "Mercenary Super-powered Soldier"

    O.o

    [/ QUOTE ]

And the full background intimates either Status Protection or Psi Defense/Resist (versus MM's mind invasion). I'm not sure what to make of that (Signature power maybe) on a Blaster.

    Her powersets: Demon Summoning/Darkness

Not Dark Miasma. I'm thinking Darkness Assault, as in Pistols/Energy hinted towards Energy Assault, or whatever blasters had.

    New Domness, not MMness.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Did you just miss the line immediately above her powersets?

The one that says Archetype: Mastermind?

    edit: Doh! 1 moment slow.

It still hasn't been denied that I16 is the synchronization patch for Going Rogue.

As was pointed out in a different discussion I6 was not City of Villains, it was Along Came a Spider which added 3 PVP Zones to the Hero Game and included a graphical update.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It hasn't?

  17. Tanker/Fire Melee:

Combustion - The "Miss" over-head float message from mobs that are missed has a pronounced delay in popping up.

Scorch - The "hit" sound effect doesn't play when attacking inanimate, destructible objects.

Note: Secondary = Willpower. Toggles don't seem to matter. I noticed both starting at lower level when I only had HPT and FH.
  18. My Mind/Energy is going for 25% ranged defense, 25-26% +damage, and ~82% recharge.

I've been quite pleased with the results so far with the changes on Test.
  19. I use Mez as a Blast with Benefits until later levels. Then it gets 5 Sandman for the recharge.

Very handy tool in the kit.
  20. Like Sparky or not, he makes a great IO mule with 4 slots (original + 3).

    4 Expedient Reinforcement = +3% damage and +6.25% recharge.

And you can do the same with the PPP summon, too.

Those are some tasty set bonuses for a small number of slots.

We're sitting in a meeting and our Development Director said "We've contracted some Type R programmers".

I had never heard this term before, so I jotted it down on my notepad, so I could inquire about it later.

Just then our Lead Engineer asks "What is Type R?"

Our Dev Director looked stumped. "What do you mean?"

"You said 'Type R Programmers'" said the Lead Engineer.

"No, I said 'High Powered'." said the Dev Director.

"No you didn't. You said 'Type R.' See I wrote it down." I said, and showed him my notepad that said "Type R?".

So now, everything high powered and awesome in the office is "Type R".

I am now on a crusade to get it used outside our offices. I should add it to urban dictionary or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hah! That reminds me of our inside joke/catch phrase from our old MUDding days.

One of my friends used a shortcut, re = right ear, to get a piece of loot called right ear from these mobs. One day, he was telling to one of our friends "you are BS". He typed "you a re BS". It came out as "you a right ear BS".

Now, all of us from that crew use Right Ear BS as our term for awesome and/or overpowered.
  22. The game doesn't tell you that you aren't getting the extras. You just don't.

edit: Deleted out rest. Unfortunately, the recovery bonuses section is a pain to read as it shows end/sec instead of the bonuses.
  23. LotG +7.5% is its own bonus category.

You can have 5 of it plus 5 of the normal +7.5% bonus.

So, you get all 7 of them in your example.
