  1. We're failing a mission!

Quick, Boy Blunder! To the forums, to let everyone know!

    Nanananana-nah-nahhh!

    (spin-sequence scene change to hospital)
  2. Please oil the hinges.

    Sincerely,

    Everyone who uses doors.
  3. So wait, they're actually releasing a new issue on a Monday?!

    ::boggle::
  4. I am looking to buy, but I can see that flipping some purple recipes for a month or two would be a good way to get the funds set up for my final purchases.

I don't have the billion yet. I've got, hm, about a quarter of that floating around at the moment. A bill is a rough estimate of what I think I earn every 4-6 months from casual marketeering. I've earned and spent about 150 mill in the last month, twiddling around picking up the other sets I'll be using on this character. That's where I'm getting my estimate from.

Iltat, should I have a billion free before starting seriously to flip/build purple recipes? That's the kind of thing I'm ignorant of, since I've never seriously needed or gone for giganto amounts of inf before.
  5. ... and I'd appreciate any advice anyone has.

I cruised through the guides, and unless I missed it, didn't see anything in particular relating to the buying and selling of purps.

I abhor farming, and my play schedule means I won't be running crazy missions trying to get them to drop. And besides, I like the market. I'm fairly fluent in marketeering, and while I'm not on enough to engage in full-on marketeering, I'm on enough to generate a billion or more in the next 4-6 months, which is the time frame within which I'd like to acquire 3 sets. ((I'm finally IO'ing out my 50, hopefully timing the switchover with my 60 month vet reward. My goal is to drop Hasten))

I guess I'm looking for any tips about bid pricing, rarity, fluctuation in supply, etc. Is a billion enough? Should I adjust my expectations? Given the long term nature of my goals, can I afford to underbid, or is there a floor? I'm specifically trying to generate 5 each of Apocalypse, Armageddon and Hecatomb.
  6. I'm not getting in on Infinity- hm, must try other servers...

    That was me.

    *kicks the dumb TFs*

How DARE they make content that doesn't specifically cater to you and you alone!

    [/ QUOTE ]

No kidding. What were they thinking???

    [/ QUOTE ]
Pssh. Everyone knows the devs build this game for me.

/kicks the high-level TFs some more...

[Tell] @Casual Player: Feedback on Architect Mission Amazon-Avatars: Excellent
MA arc. I look forward to seeing this made into a dev's choice.

    That made my evening!

Indeed it was, and I stand by the statement.
This arc is great story about both the Warriors and the Knives, two criminally underutilized villain groups in the game.
As far as I'm concerned, this kind of mission is exactly what the AE was made for.

    Abusing Positron

Pfft, you're missing out on the *hot* PvP action, Slax.

Getting people's account banned for making farms, baby. That's *real* Player vs Player.

If I had more time to think about it, I'd make up a point system:

5 points for the Dreck map, 10 for Steel Canyon, 15 for King's or the outdoor Carnies.
+5 for hostages. -5 for defender allies
+10 if there's some vague attempt at a contact dialogue or mission specs beyond: Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls.
-5 points for the bomb exploit, cuz that makes it easier to convince gms it's a farm.
-5 points if the AE mission has 'farm' somewhere in its name, same reason.

Darnit. I may seriously have to post this over in PvP now.

To Mids, thank you for all the work you put into such a fantastic tool.

To Steiner, thanks in advance for all the hell we're about to put you through.

    This.

Can't be said enough. Mids' Hero Planner is the casual player's bestest friend. Makes me almost look like I know what I'm doing out there in the field.

welcome back to the game, old-style PvP on infinity is dead by the way.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Fixed that for you.
It's amazing how people think their circle of interest encompasses the whole server.

    /plenty of old-timers still around
//welcome back to the fold, sir!
  12. I miiiiight be able to make it this Friday. Put me in the Definite Maybe category, please.

Professor Candelabra, naturalement. 36 Peacebringer, going for 37 and the rest of my IO build.
  13. Well,

Eet 'as been a busee week 'ere. Ah 'ave recovaired mah seegnature abeeleetie, zee 'Candelabra' of danceeng lights weez wheech ah can devastate any enemies. Ah 'ave travailed een tahm agahn, courtesy of zee Meednight Club. And my ozzair self 'as been uncommonly communeecateeve. Zeese recordeengs 'ave eendeed been tres benefeecial.

Based on zee somewhat loud urgeengs of mah ozzair self, Ah started zee week workeeng agahn for zee Peace Offizair, Sunstorm. 'Ee 'ad more to eenvesteegate weez regardez zeese "Neectus," Arakhn and Requiem. Zey are workeeng togezzair, wheech ees appahrently unexpected.

PURE EVIL! YOU SAW THE MAP, FOOL! THEY INTEND NOTHING LESS THAN THE EXTERMINATION OF YOUR WORLD, THE ELIMINATION OF ALL LIGHT!!

Ghnn. Mah 'ead 'urts. Per'aps eet ees a seemptom of zee tahm travail. M'sieu Weenkly and zee Meednightairs 'ave at last produced zat for wheech we zought zem out- a pazz zrough tahm eetself! Useeng one of zee strahnge flameeng creestals from Ouroboros, zey 'ave created a pazzway to an ancient Roman village. Zee eenhabeetants zere, zee Cimerorans, were quaht friendly, excepteeng zose wheech are tryeeng to ovair-zrow zeir lord, Eemperious.

THEIR LAND ALSO FEELS THE MENACE OF THE NICTUS! THE CIMERORAN TRAITORS VIBRATE WITH THE FREQUENCIES OF THE DARK THREAT! IT CANNOT BE COINCIDENCE!

Eemperious weeshed for asseestance weez zee traitors subverteeng 'ees rule. Alas, Ah deed not 'ave zee rest of zee Guild along weez me to 'elp 'eem. Ah shall seek out zee Countess and ask 'er 'elp een zees mattair. Ah know exactly where to find 'er; she shall undoubtedly be entranc-ed by zees new technologie zat 'as become zee rage all ovair Paragon, zees Archeetect Eentertainment.

YES! GATHER YOUR FELLOWS TOGETHER! THEY ARE CLEVER FOR MEAT CREATURES! WE SHOULD MARSHAL A FULL TEAM OF STALWARTS TO COMBAT THE NICTUS TERROR!

Ghnn. Agahn, zee 'eadaches. Ah shall also state for zee record zat my ozzair self ees a razzair eenseestant, and far too LOUD voice, for a personaleetie zat 'as nevair properly eentroduced eetself. Whatever zee Countess suggests, Ah shall be do-eeng nozzing more zan puttereeng een a lab and rearrahngeeng mah new furneeture unteel zee voice becomes a leetle more ceeveel.
  14. Zut Alors! Per'aps zees mezzod does 'ave some benefeets aftair all! Zat voice! Eet ees exactly zee voice Ah 'ave 'eard een mah 'ead for so long now. Zee constant berateeng, zee eencessant scoldeeng; forevair admoneesheeng me to breeng zee justice to zey 'oo 'ave commeeted crahms. Eet ees such a joi to be able to play zees tape and know zat ozzairs 'ear zee voice too. Zee sheer relief of eveedence, of proof! Finally, mah eenseestance on 'earing zee voices of 'eaven can no longer be deesmeessed as eensaneety.

So, Ah shall conteenue mah journal, 'opeeng to 'ear mah ozzair self's recordeeng agahn.

Zees week started weez mah seekeeng out ozzair personnes 'oo 'ave merg-ed weez zees 'eavenly creatch-airs. Aurelie eentroduc-ed me to zee poleece offizair, Sunstorm, een Atlas Park. 'Ee was razzair a pompous man, Ah zought, and Ah 'ave met many such. Puffed up weez 'ees own agenda, 'ee cared leetle for 'earing my own tale, or eentroduceeng me to ozzair 'Peacebreengers' as zee 'eavenly agents are known.

Apparently, 'ee and 'ees fellows were eencapable of containeeng zee veelainess, Arakhn. She ees back conspahreeng weez zee Counceel agahn, working weez one of zeir lieutenants, a man calleeng 'imself Requiem.

REQUIEM! THE DIRGE OF ENTROPY! AT LAST!! MY TRAVELS THROUGH TIME BEGIN TO GLOW WITH POTENTIAL! JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!!!

Zey were workeeng togezzair to create darkair Vampyri zen zee normal. Pfah. Zee counceel vampyri would run screameeng from zee true zhings. What fools zees Counceel are, to seek to emulate zee 'orrors of mysteecysm weez science. Ah stopped zem, of course. At least, zeir followers. Zee preenciples remahn maddeneengly absent.

Sunstorm, when Ah presented 'eem zee news of foileeng zeir plans, said 'ee would send me on anozzair meesion, to unveil zeir deeper plans. Per'aps at a later time, but for now Ah 'ave 'ad enough of 'ees strutteeng and commandeeng. Ah 'ave enough of zat spounteeng from mah own 'ead.

NO, YOU FOOL! THESE ARE NICTUS! EVIL UNBOUND! WE MUST FIND AND DEFEAT THEM, LEST YOUR WORLD PAY FOR YOUR SELFISHNESS!!

Ah spent zee rest of zee week arrangeeng my leeveng quartairs and 'aving deenair weez zee lovely Clandestine. Mlle. Mereaux is tres charmeeng and knows zee best places to acquire zee fahn furneesheengs. Eef zee local Universite' would accept mah appleecation for use of zeir laboratories, mah lahf would be quahte comfortable 'ere.
  15. And 'ere we 'ave week two of my recordeengs. Ah 'ave played last week's ovair in my sleep 'as Aurelie instructed, but as yet Ah 'ave seen no chahnge in mah abeeleetees or nature.

Ah deed indeed seek out zee Percy Weenkley, as 'ee 'ad said 'ee knew more about zee oreegeens of strahnge powairs. Pfft. Zee poor fool knew nozzing. Zee 'eroes 'ee sent me too knew equally leetle or refus-ed to speak clearly. Manteecore's supposed descreeption of 'natural' powairs was utter nonseense and zee ozzairs were seemeelarly useless. Only Poseetron spoke weez any eentelleegence. Ah 'ave 'eard zee Countess make such obsairvations many times een zee past.

Percy at least 'ad zee grace to offair anozzer boon in place of 'ees failed explanations. Zee Midnight Club appahreently DOES 'ave some access to tahm travel and weel permeet me to use eet. Ah weel follow up on zees offair soon. Per'aps zere ees some 'ope of returneeng to our propair tahm.

For zees past week, Ah was busy weez new acquaintances. Ah could not find zee 'Asidic 'Ammer to zank 'eem, but Ah deed meet an associate of 'ees, a Mlle. "Gravia". Ah, zees future femmes! Ah zeenk 'er chief use for 'er graveety powairs was to serve as replacemeent to foundational garmeents, eef not all garmeents altogezzair. Workeeng weez 'er and 'er compatriots was not so sateesfyeeng as workeeng weez zee Guild, Ah must say, remunerateeve zough eet was.

JUSTICE!? THOSE MEATBRAINED IDIOTS DIDN'T KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD! MUCH LESS 'TEAMWORK'. HOW MANY TIMES DID I HAVE TO RESCUE THE PROFESSOR'S BODY? TOO MANY. *SNORT*

Eet was much more pleasant workeeng weez my ozzair new acquaintance, zee formair 'eroine, "Clandestine". Eet seems zat Mlle. Philipa Mereaux ees a neighbor, alzough she maintains a vigilance een zee souzairn part of Foundair's Falls. Weez 'er asseestance, Ah aided Ken and Keemberly Kellairman, 'oo were being conteenuously keednapped by zee Countess Crey.

Zut! You name a woman "Countess" and zere ees no telleeng what she ees capable of! *laughs* Steel, Mlle. Mereaux ees a delightful deenair companion. Befuddleeng zee Crey thugs was a small prahce to pay for 'er company.

So. Ah shall set zees recordeeng to also play een mah sleep, and see what developes. Next week, 'opefully, Ah shall see some results.
  16. So. Ees zees zing recordeeng? Ah admeet, eet ees a trifle unnerveeng to 'ear one's own voice emitteeng from zee leetle box 'ere. To zeenk zat voices can be preserv-ed as eemages are by daguerrotype! Yet anozzair marvel of zis future age een wheetch Ah 'ave found mahself.

Steel, to buseeness. Ah, Professor Emile Candelabra, shall record several of my zoughts and experieences 'ere to 'elp weez my, hm, 'ow deed Aurelie put eet? "Eentegration of Kheldian eenairgies"? Oui.

Mlle. Damiens, late of Striga Ahsle, 'as suggested zees mezzod as a way of makeeng peace weez zee enairgie creature weez wheetch Ah 'ave merg-ed. And while Ah 'ave much more experieence useeng zee powairs Ah 'ad always considaired 'eaven sent, she knows far more of zeir true nature zan Ah. Ah cannot breeng mahself to eendulge een zee silly nomenclature subculture zat Mlle. "Moonfire" ad'eres to, but 'er advahce 'as ozzerwahse been sound. And Ah must admeet, Ah do take enjoyment from Aurelie's company. Eet ees pleasant to once agahn 'ear zee Francais spoken by a pretty young mademoiselle.

Eet 'as now been ovair a week seence Ah 'ave seen mah compatriots een zee Leviathan Gueeld. Aluriel 'as found zee redemption she sought, and 'as returned to meestical realms. Poor Patches, bereft of 'er comfort, now refuses to endure zees future world any longair. Zee Baronne, een seempazzy for 'er unleeveeng friends, also 'as decided to retahre. She spoke of 'er nateev land, and per'aps 'as return-ed zere. Zee Countess, weez no ozzair adveenturous deestractions, 'as ensconced 'erself in strahnge laboratories and ees eemers-ed een zee study of zee future technology. Of Ceeveel and Lotus, Ah 'ave no word. All Ah know ees zat no one ozzair zan mahself 'as veeseeted zee 'eadquarters een several days.

Ah 'ave, zerefore, acquired zee apartment of mah own. Zee Foundair's Falls ees very pleaseeng, and Ah now leev in Weelliam's Square, near zee Universitee and zee Meednight Club. Very 'andy. Zee 'Asidic 'Ammer's funds were quite useful in securing zees reseedeence, and Ah 'ope to zank 'eem agahn soon.

Ah also 'ope to speak weez zee Percy Weenkly agahn. 'Ee claimed to 'ave information about zee nature of all strahnge pow-airs, wheetch Ah 'ope weel be eenstructeev.

So. Ah shall record more wheen Ah am able. Eef all goes as Aurelie plans, mah ozzair self shall 'ear zees and seek to make seemeelar contact weez mahself. We must 'ave accomodation to sanely survive, she says.

    Au revoir.
  17. Ha, the day I finally fire up Test to see what the hooplah is about, they announce it's imminently coming to live.
    Typical.

I look forward to seeing what you've been building, folks.

    /writes down ID numbers
  18. What? Argh. Casual Players ain't on test, yo.

Oh well, I'll rotate some of my alts that've been untouched for the last couple of months.

    See you all Thursday!
  19. Pffft. That's for you suckers without dedicated contacts feeding you nothing but story arcs full of merits. Mmmm, stealth merits.

Besides, Agent Six is hawt. Who doesn't want a girl that hangs out in the ritzy sewers all day?
  20. It's occurred to me that you villainsiders may not know where to go for lvl 35 SOs. Heroside, you have to hunt down a contact that makes you do a mission before opening up and selling to you. There's a different one for each origin, and they're scattered across Founder's and Brickstown. If you all haven't unlocked your contact, that might be something we could do before diving back into Croatoa next time. (Can you guess what I did today? First two don't count...)

In the olden days, they weren't on the map either, so count yourselves lucky you're not walking 5 miles uphill both ways to buy your enh.
  21. I may be 5-10 minutes late tonight. Our scout meeting is across town tonight instead of 2 blocks away, and we're prepping for an overnight hike this weekend. I'll be along as soon as I can, but it may be 9:05-9:10 instead of 9:00. Er, -3 hours PT, I'm on Eastern.
  22. I'd be happy to run us through Eden. It's an extremely different experience from most everything else in the game due to the unusual maps. DE out the wazoo plus giant monster boss-fights. Navigating the funky map is one of my weak points, tho. We may spend a little time lost here and there.
  23. I've never done any of the Shadow Shard TFs, and I'm guessing Spectre hasn't either. I'd enjoy any of those. Well, I'd enjoy seeing them- rumor has it that enjoyment of the content is a bit harder to come by.

Eden Trial's a good way to spend half an evening, if we're still looking for almost 40 content, as is the Sewer Trial. I've only ever succeeded at the Sewer Trial once, and that was via several 50s unexemping and just laying waste. It'd be nice to do it for realz once.

I think we're very likely going to need to do at least a couple of the RWZ arcs if we want to maintain simultaneous story arcs. There just isn't much else guaranteed in that range.
  24. Dinged 30 this morning when I dropped Mercedes Sheldon's last mission (can't believe I never called her before we hit it Tuesday), so the enemies will be suitably tough for the rest of you.

Speaking of which, at what level should I set my difficulty? I don't have much experience leading TFs.
  25. Civil hasn't quite gotten there, I believe. At least, that was the case when we finished up Thursday night.

I am obviously pro-Hess, but I haven't done the Midnighter stuff we're working on either. I'll be happy whichever way we go.
