  1. Not a bind for a nuke (as that is a long way away) on my corruptor, but one that seems to make teammates laugh is the following:

"I'm pulling with Fireball, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"

The thing is, I mean it...
  2. Not making any implications as to how well you fought - Nefarious pointed out that if you were able to slap a hold onto the stalker, then the stalker had omitted to pick up/run their mez protection power (integration/entropy shield/practiced brawler/Kuji-in Rin). Such an omission is likely to indicate an inexperienced PvP'er, as anyone who has spent longer than about an hour in the zones knows just how lovely mez protection is.
  3. Hmm, i hope no-one interpreted my post as a suggestion to deliberate cause debt for the other player.

It was entirely a tongue-n-cheek suggestion from the Zapp Branningan Handbook "...so I sent wave after wave of my own troops at them..."
  4. Was in bloody bay mind nef, so finding a stalker in there with access to hide+stealth is probably a rarity.

The Mez comment is bang on tho
  5. take it as a compliment, and drag him round as a decoy, sacrificing him to the enemy as needed.
  6. Welcome to CoV and the forums.

MaX pretty much covered it, but in terms of SGs might I suggest the following...

It lists some descriptions of some of the VGs on Union - have a read, and feel free to give me a shout if the pirates take your fancy.
  7. Nope, builder I have lists times for reconstruction and sha as 30.78 seconds when three slotted for recharge, and healing 48% back with the three slots for healing.

Sure hasten might make you more survivable, but the lady wife has never needed it, preferring to put the powerpick into something else. So, it is perfectly viable to PvP without hasten - if it fits into your build, then by all means go for it.
  8. Yeeeharrrr!

    Gratzulations ducky!
  9. Yep, absolutely.

Dull pain, IH, Reconstruction all should be slotted 3xheal 3xrecharge.

Ideally slot 3 slot health and fast healing too, to maximise your regen.

Sure, there are times when you could do with dullpain and IH being up faster, but picking your battles usually helps with that.
  10. More than likely, but lack of chocolate this end nerfed my perception to sarcasm in forum posts xD

As to the topic at hand, my personal view is that empathy isn't just a nifty defender powerset, but an essential tool for negotiating the travails of modern life. Smooth's honesty is refreshing, and his acceptance of his nature is to his credit. I also suspect it will prove to be the key to him allowing everyone into his world - it certainly was for me. Acknowledging and rejoicing in your own nature is a wonderful thing, and allows you the freedom to empathise with anyone, whether a dear friend, or someone you don't know from Adam who is getting a little frustrated after some PvP shenanigans.

I'm possibly too far the other way - I'm incredibly thick-skinned when it comes to comments directed at me, but can get into quite a tizz if I feel someone else is upset. This is especially true when that other person is someone I know and care about, but even if it is the rendered avatar of someone I have never met, my protective instincts kick in, and I'll usually do a rapid-fire series of tells/PM's to a) see if the person is ok/needs to talk to someone, and b) to point out my displeasure to the culprit if I witness something awry.

I'm probably over-protective of the meek - I used to be incredibly withdrawn, but my the twists and turns of fate have turned me into an outspoken so-and-so, especially when I can communicate in a written mode. This probably makes me an interfering busybody, but I would rather risk taking the flak myself for butting in where it wasn't needed than allow someone who needs it to go without a friendly ear or a stout defender.

That doesn't mean I can't be petty or mean, or childish - far from it. All of those staples of the human condition are fully fledged parts of my make-up, but I try to limit their manifestations, and apologise if I do throw my toys out of the pram.

Meh, it's late, and I'm rambling. Time for some sleep methinks.

I guess that's down to the urbane, sophisticated and refined nature of the forum community

  12. I've watched Filth in action with Bilharzia, and the usual stalker squad (blind loved the swooping image btw - like a pack of raptors ) and he really knows his onions when it comes to dominating.

Just need to get my /therm up to a decent level, and thaw and some shields are yours whenever you need them.

    jeje indeed
  13. nope - at least, not elec/elec. More than happy with my em/ea at the minute, although there may well be an elec/dark concept build in there...
  14. damn straight - this is one of my favourite threads since i started forumdwelling - intelligent, adult discussion, some humour and a lovely diversion from seeing the same damn threads all the time.

This Capn' raises his rumglass to you all.

    Em/Ea powers?

well beyond a travel power, the pools are really up to you and how you play.

Stamina is essential for some combinations, useful in most (and swift/hurdle/health are really nice too). If you plan on being a hit and run/placate type stalker, then stamina may not be needed, especially with the endurance recovery tools in /ea. However, if you prefer to scrap a bit too, stamina would make that a lot easier.

The concealment pool can be useful for PvP, but is by no means required. Teleport Foe/recall friend are also useful powers.

Main thing is to experiment with your playstyle, and look at what you could do better, then pick the powers that will help you with that.
  16. Yeah, was good to team with you, Melon and Duskie for Mel's ding (oh, and Devi too).

I always love 1AT teams - best thing in the game.
  17. Fold yourself into the wind.

In reality, whilst you can cap out the amount of stealthiness through hide+stealth+grant invisibility, you don't need it to be stealthy. Patience, a sound appreciation of line-of-sight and use of scenery will allow you to be invisible even if you are only using hide - the other options supplement that, but aren't a substitute for spending the time practising being invisible whilst in plain sight.

Or have I been watching too many ninja films?
  18. I'd disagree with the assessment of barrage - it is far superior to brawl for sticking on auto to generate fury. 1) it is part energy damage (a good thing), 2) it costs fractionally more end, but recharges fast enough, and does more damage, 3) with the very fast combo of barrage and energy punch you can generally achieve disorients on the majority of mobs, especially with bonesmasher thrown in too.

Whirling hands is useful enough at grabbing aggro, and at full fury can kick out some reasonable damage, but i would say it is by no means essential. Stun suffers from the horrible animation time, although a guaranteed disorient is useful in PvP (i would imagine).

  20. aye - as it is open to heroes and villains, the 38-40 bracket seemed the fairest.

We are very nearly full (already!) but keep the signups coming - we are closing them on the 25th, and if we get enough players, we can enlarge the event.
  21. Good stuff - kindly stick your details in the signup thread (link up thatta way).
  22. Cheers Max - i actually think support characters are the key to success in this type of format, but it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Chives, the signups are open until we have a total of 24 for each server, so don't dally too long if you want in.
