Also, the OP is listing for 1, so everything's going for the highest lowball bid, which is likely bringing profits down somewhat.

Recipes are where the frugal, patient types bid. Crafted IOs are where the impatient spendaholics bid. The difference in profit margin is quite noticeable.
Ya, random rolls, and listing for 1 inf is not the best way to make money with the alignment merits. So, I'm not really sure what the point of this exercise is, other than to show how much less money the OP makes vs selling crafted enhancements for a decent listing amount. Alternatively, this experiment could actually be how much money you can make VENDORING alignment merit recipe rolls to stores because the OP hates the market so much, but I wouldn't see the point of that either. :-s

I always say "go big, or go home". If you are going to take the time to do all the tips, and use your alignment merit rolls, you may as well go all the way. Spend a few minutes crafting and bidding on salvage and make some "real money". At the very most, if you had none of the salvage...you would have to bid and collect 15-20 items of salvage, and craft 5 enhancements at a time. Even a non market savvy person could accomplish this in a few minutes.

    Extra 0 much?

So I had a Panacea end/heal for sale. Going rate was 200 mill or so. I listed it for 160 mill or so. Someone hit an extra 0 and it sold for 2 billion! Funny part is, it wouldnt have mattered if they hit the extra 0 for their 200 mill bid, if they had any amount other than the absolute maximum inf cap on them cuz they would have had insufficient fund to make the bid.

My other thought, is maybe they confused "End/Heal" with possibly "+hp/+end" and thought they were bidding on the proc. Either way, its a win for me.

No, they aren't. I've had one for sale for 5 days at WW, for less than 2B. :-/ Sales are usually between 1.95-2 Billion though, although one guy nabbed one for 1.6B or so a few days ago.

If you played on Freedom, then your current account is using the North American Servers. The game client's might be identical(Pretty sure but I dunno 100%), but there is no way to use your North American account on the EU version of the game.

So your options in my opinion, are to
1)re-download the US client(it's free and you can do it from your account management screen when you login on the plaync website) and play the US version like you used to.
2)make a new game account and start from scratch(yes you have to re-purchase a license again for the new EU account)

You might not have to redownload the whole client. If you choose to make a new acct, and download the EU version, and point the installer to your current US directory, it might just "fix" the install, and only change what files it needs to, to make it the EU version. I haven't tried this myself, but I did go to redownload CoH after some data corruption recently, and it merely "fixed" a bunch of files for about 30 minutes, and then I could play again.

Generally, this strategy is entirely dependent upon how many people are bidding and how many are for sale. Popular things, that are still expensive but have lots of people bidding and not so much for sale, you can generally get away with the 90% kind of rule. But if there is few bidders, and lots for sale, I find myself listing for about 55-60% of the last 5. Generally, I usually get anywhere between 80-100% of the last 5 sales regardless of the low listing price. If something was selling for 10 mill, and there were say 30 bidding, and 5 for sale - I would list for 9.5 mill. There is a demand there. If the same enhancement selling for 10 million had 5 bidding, and 30 for sale, I would probably list for 5.1 million, and hope for the best. It's somewhat risky listing really low with so few bidders tho because they could all be real lowballs. But more often than not, for every time I list for 5.1 and it sells for 5.3 million, there is more than enough that sells for 8-10 that it is a non-issue for me.

Another thing to consider, is how much effort you are investing time-wise. Since Organica is only checking a toon maybe every few days, the need to sell quickly to keep your slots from filling up, is moot. You can afford to list higher(closer to the buy it now price), if you are prepared to wait for a sale. This is the perfect strategy for toons you are only playing or checking once or twice a week.

    Windows 7 issue

I know you said you are running on graphics turned down, but have you tried running the game in safe mode? This puts the graphics at their absolute lowest settings(for sure).

My other desktop has an nvidia 9100. After upgrading to vthe latest 2011 graphics driver, the game was acting unstable, and crashing on me. I had to roll back to a 2009 driver. This was on Vista, not Windows 7 however. You could try uninstalling the driver, and trying a slightly older version if you can find one online. Just an idea. I'm not a computer expert, but rolling back to an older driver worked for me solving my crashing issues.
  7. Well from a superhero game standpoint, hasten to me is a lot like inherent fitness now. Being a superhero implies a certain level of fitness over the general population, which is why I welcomed inherent fitness. It's one of the things that makes you "super" besides shooting flames from your eyeballs, or other stuff. It's not unreasonable to assume or expect ANY superpowered being to be able to do things faster than normal, in my opinion, which is why I have no issues with taking it on every character, and how I could justify it in any RP context.

Ya, a guy with all mind or psi powers who supposedly was an amazingly smart guy who tapped into his inner potential, and began manipulating things with his mind is cool. Him attacking and using his mind powers amazingly fast(hasten) due to his super mental abilities? Yep...I could buy it. His hands looking like they are on fire, and glowing yellow? Ah ok...not so much. lol. But again, concept wise the idea to me is sound. It's just the game's enforced graphical detail that makes it not fit. On this note, I would love it if you could customize any power in the game - not just your primary and secondary sets. Or at the very least "turn effects off" for any power, if it bothered you. But that discussion is for another post. ;-)
  8. Ah ok. I was assuming that the -to hit would be multiplied by how many enemies were around me? Cuz my regeneration seems to vary depending on how big the mob is, or at least that is how it appears to me. I have it monitored on my combat attributes window, and in combat it seems to move up and down a lot. RttC says it affects 10 targets max, so would the -3.5% be per enemy, or total?

    Edit
*ah I see it is -3.5% per TARGET. Duh. lol So ya...not really worth slotting for that I guess. I was kinda thinking it was -to hit = +def. You know like 10 targets would make it -35% to hit, or adding +35% defence type thing. How wrong I was. @_@*

People have already given examples up-thread about builds where Hasten wasn't something they needed over their other options.
Fair enough. But weave requires boxing/kick and tough before you can choose it. This is a super great power(imo) from a pool that only requires a single power choice(itself) in order to attain it.

Ya, I've read some of those replies already, and while that may hold true for them, and their builds, it's not the way I build my toons. I try to be the most efficient in my builds, and if that means respec'ing at 50, and dumping attack powers that do modest or minor damage and going with a super strong attack chain of the best 3 powers, etc then that is what I go for. If I'm looking at my tray and thinking I don't need hasten because I have 6 or 7 attack powers, and one of them is always recharged, I think something is wrong. lol. I want my BEST powers recharging fast enough that I use them over and over again, and that basically necessitates hasten for me. Now this type of character building is not exactly exemplar friendly, but I don't really do much TF's etc anyways, and play my characters with level 50 content 99% of the time. The other 1% of the time, they can make do without their super efficient build.

    **Edit
I should probably add that none of my toons have a travel power, unless you count ninja run, which no one does. lol. I'm usually so obsessed with trying to squeeze every ounce of performance out of them, that something I consider a "convenience" never makes it as a power choice. I can make do with ninja jump, and/or purchase a jetpack, etc.
    /Edit**
  10. Just made my first tanker with the willpower primary. What's the best way to slot this power? Right now I got it slotted basically for regeneration, and also with a single endurance reduction io. So when I am surrounded by enemies, my regen is going sky high with fast healing, physical perfection, and health. This toon also has the regenerative tissue proc, and the numina regen/recovery.

So ya, what in your experience is the best way to slot this power? I'm thinking with -to hit, coupled with his 24% s/l defence, and/or his 21% melee defence, maybe it's worth slotting more for -to hit than strictly for regeneration. Any thoughts?
  11. Every character I have across four accounts has hasten. It might not be for everyone, but for me it definitely is a must have. 70% recharge boost for 2 mins? Yes please! Several of my high end toons have it perma, but a bunch of the cheaper builds don't, but they usually have decent enough recharge that it is up more that it is off. Even if it was 50/50, I can't see why having a super recharge bonus for any length of time would seem unwanted for any archetype.
  12. If this was on Wednesday starting around 11pm EST, you are definitely not alone. Inexplicably, after hours of smooth play my powers started not activating when I clicked them, and I was rubber banding very badly. I logged out, and relogged in with the same problem. When calling contacts, I would have to click the "call" button 6 times and then after 20 seconds the window would pop open. I logged out since sync'ing etc had no effect.
  13. I doubt anyone will beat 1B. It's yours. I'm online right now
    @block-head

I'm on champion server, not that it matters.
  14. Last 5 level 50's sold for as of Feb 23 @ 3:13pm EST:

    1,500,000,000
    700,000,000
    677,700,000
    1,000,000,000
    1,500,000,000

Currently, I've got an offer of 725 million from another forum poster.
  15. I've had no issue at all since someone suggested waiting a few seconds before trying to rez. I started waiting 10 seconds now between when I die, and I activate the RotP power, and everyone gets kb'd etc and my combat tab verifies no one gets in a melee attack before I am able to move etc. No insta-deaths to report after giving myself time to lose aggro...

For example, in Tin Mage's TF you enter the Vanguard conference room map, and have to click a door to go to the map proper. Some times, I don't come out of the other side; instead, my screen stays black. This happened again today during the Silver Mantis' TF, in the final mission: I entered the door in the cargo ship, but never came out of the other side.

This never happens if people port me to the new location, only when I go through the door. And a weird side effect is that my movement keys still control the camera: people see my character standing at the door as if he'd made it through, but they can't even use Recall Friend to unstuck him. The slash commands /stuck and /sync also do nothing. When I say I can still control the camera, I mean that I can move around and still see what's going on, but the camera is not attached to my character: I can even go outside the geometry.

It's a weird state that maybe I should record with Fraps next time it happens, because it's difficult to explain how badly the client breaks when that happens.

By chance, I was running the game with the console up today (my loading times have been awful and I wanted to check the reported times), and at the moment I entered the door, the console spit these:

    BasePower not found: <0.2.6>
NOTE: this is likely due to a data mismatch between the client and the server.

    BasePower not found: <1.4.0>
NOTE: this is likely due to a data mismatch between the client and the server.

I am pretty certain that all my data files are perfectly fine, however. I used the 'Verify All Files' option and it found nothing, and I also ran a MD5 sum and compared it to my laptop's COH installation, which updates separately; they match. So something else is causing this to happen, only sometimes, only when going through mission doors.

I know, this is a rather vague report, but it's all I got. I first noticed this problem when doing the Tin Mage TF when it was first released, so it might be something that broke in Issue 19. Incidentally, this is also when my zoning time got really slow.
I started having this problem yesterday...immediately after updating my video drivers. I've got an Nvidia 9100 card, and CoH said I was out of date for a lil while now, so decided to get the latest ones from 2011. The old ones were from 2008. lol. Anyways, after updating(never had any issues before) when going into the Portal Buildings in PI, and even going down the Portal building elevators, and first time zoning into Portal mission map I would get this same black screen. I would see the little blue hand icon I used when entering the doors, but that was it. I rolled back the drivers, and have been playing problem free again.
  17. **edit. Blah, I hit some oddball keystroke combination and it posted while I was editing the subject line. Should read Fury of the Gladiator: Chance for -Res for sale, but oh well you are reading this now anyways! :-/

    Hi everyone.

I've got a Fury of the Gladiator: Chance for -res for sale.
I'm selling it here because it is level 40, and I'm not sure how well it will sell at WW since it is not level 10, or 50. So rather than paying the fee, and having it take up a WW slot, I am trying here first. Reply to this thread, send me a PM, or send a tell in game to

    @block-head
    @1hotfireball

    if you are interested.
  18. I won't be changing my epic set. Just will swap out RotP for a different power if the trick doesn't work. I'm going to do some runs now, and will try that trick. But hopefully I won't need to try the trick at all.

Again, apparently I was wrong, and my explanation holds no water.

I do believe that the delay is intended though. I dont say it makes sense, or excuse it, I just think that it was designed that way, and in situations like yours, the devs are unlikely to have much sympathy.
To clarify my position...I am only frustrated because I keep dying when I rez. lol Either the kb/stuns don't work, or I am being attacked before I can do anything. I was not exactly sure what was going on when I posted that, but now after reading the thread in it's entirety, I have a better idea of why now.

I'm going to try the 4 (or more) second idea another poster suggested. It's entirely possible I am rezing while still targeted by enemies, or even if they have an attack already queued up on me that did not execute because I was dead already.

I had a spines/dark farmer before I had this fire/kin with RotP. So I was used to the scrapper version of the self rez, and hadn't even noticed in his real numbers that the soul transfer had 0 delay. When my spines/dark would die...I would just click soul transfer right away, click on all my toggles, and within 10 seconds be back in business. Doesn't work so well with my controller. lol

It seems more than a bit biased to have a time delay on the untouchable portion for already squishier archetypes than melee archetypes. Usually for scrappers/tankers etc, they have some built in auto defence or resistance, and more hp, etc so are generally speaking, more capable of surviving a rez in combat even if there was a 0.25s delay than a controller, blaster , or dominator would. As Obitus mentioned, it doesn't even have to be a really higher difficulty level, although it is more immediately noticeable in that scenario.

I'm probably going to respec out of RotP if that 4 second wait trick doesn't work reliably.

Die near a boss, and soon as you are "rising" he slams you back into the ground
My main problem is the 0.25s part. Not that the stun etc doesn't work on higher level bosses. But it wouldnt matter if you were untouchable right away. This is why your statements about what people farm are irrelevant. Fact of the matter - I do farm BM on +4 x 8 because it is faster and more xp for my alts than demons. Also, I don't die very often either on that difficulty. So it's not like I am using RotP all the time. But sometimes things don't go your way, you miss a hold on a boss, or they get a lucky critical on you etc, and you do die. This is why when I do need my rez I want it to actually rez me, and keep on going. But I don't die ever on +2x8 or even +3 by 8. So saying that my self rez power is only going to be effective on a lower difficulty level where I never need it, seems like something is definitely broken about it.

Doesn't matter what you are farming or even if playing the game on a higher diff setting really. Your self rez power shouldn't be useless. The kb and stun are supposed to keep you alive, before you become untouchable and they clearly don't as my screenshot showed.

  24. Here is a screenshot of my combat tab. It clearly shows me getting hit by numerous melee attacks after RotP is activated, and before I can use any powers. There is some ranged attacks in there too, but I can live with enemies shooting at me who are outside of the RotP's kb/stun. But it's over 440 pts of damage just from melee attacks. If one of them had been from the Champion of War(Boss), I would have been dead instantly. As it was...that 440 pts of melee damage coupled with the single ranged hit of 334 pts is more than enough to outnumber my 508 pt RotP heal before I can use any of my powers or turn toggles on.

    Hopefully this works.
