Can't log in to game

The EU and US versions of the game are two completely separate playerbases.
The fact that you can log into the forums only if you have the NA box checked suggests you are on a US account. Do you remember any of the names of the servers you played on when you were last here? (E.g. Union, Defiant, Freedom, Virtue etc.)

I think it was freedom. But why do i have to download a new client? I mean, isn't the game the same? I understand that there are different player bases, but the client should be the same.
So if i want to play on the EU servers i have to buy a new account?

So your options in my opinion, are to
1)re-download the US client(it's free and you can do it from your account management screen when you login on the plaync website) and play the US version like you used to.
2)make a new game account and start from scratch(yes you have to re-purchase a license again for the new EU account)
You might not have to redownload the whole client. If you choose to make a new acct, and download the EU version, and point the installer to your current US directory, it might just "fix" the install, and only change what files it needs to, to make it the EU version. I haven't tried this myself, but I did go to redownload CoH after some data corruption recently, and it merely "fixed" a bunch of files for about 30 minutes, and then I could play again.

Just reactivated my account after being away for almost 2 years. After playing alot of MMO's i want to go back to CoH since it's the game iv'e had the most fun playing..
Anyways, just installed the EU client via the new ncSoft installer. And when i try to log in to the game i get the invalid username/password thing. I've read some posts on the forums that changing the name on the CoHupdater will fix the problem, but since i used the new installer the CoHupdater file isn't in the game folder. I just can't figure this out at all. I live in europe, and have the EU client installed. Tried to remove the EU in the properties of the updater, but then it wants to download the US version.. When i log in to the forums i can't log in if i check for europe, but works if i check North America. What is going on here? Is the EU and US version of the game two different games?? Do i have an US account since i can't login to the forums when Europe is checked?
I've tried to contact ncSoft but they don't seem to bother answering..
Does this mean i have to download and install the US client? In that case, why?
This MMO is a veteran in the market, and i find it kind of funny that just starting the game is so hard..
I was really looking forward to playing CoH again, but now after tearing out the little hair i have left i just want to deactivate my account wich i allready paid for and just find another game to play..
