  1. I thought the best part was when the daughter burned the other chick by mentioning the memorial they had for her virginity.

Yeah but wasn't she reverted back to a human or something when she came back? I thought most of the popularity of that character stemmed from her being a pre-Spike Spike, that is, a psychotic, sadistic vamp.

It occurred to me when I picked up almost all the Buffy seasons that Darla appeared in very few episodes, yet people still remember Julie Benz as Darla.
  4. I was worried when they just used splice-shots of the dad at the batting cages that they were going to skimp on the effects department, but the fight with the teleporter showed they just reserved their budget for the bigger stuff.

The fact that he was wounded in the back of the head made me think that perhaps he only had invulnerability on the front half of his body or something, but maybe it's just more of a drainage thing like Molly from Runaways.

As for the wife, it's neat that they're basically going with the Barry Allen TV version of superspeed for them, and at least they brought up some of those pesky physics questions.

Also, you just know that this season is only going to progress far enough in their timeline that for the finale they can reveal that the mom is pregnant, and she'll have a super-powered baby!

  6. He looks weird with his hair like that. And being so beefed up makes him look shorter.
  7. Man, seeing how much my take on Superman was in line what people want to see makes me a sad panda.
  8. I realize we're all catching up on our shows but that's no reason not to vote, people!

No, it's your fault to lump everyone who criticizes the show together and assume they all hate it.

Which makes no sense to me...because you can end the show yourself...just stop watching.

To come and hate on a show that you apparently watch and then say you wish it would just end...is absurd.
Well I think it's some fallacy or another (I don't know which, I don't memorize them because that seems like the sort of thing trolls do) to take it a bit further than anyone else who is criticizing the show by assuming they hate it.

They can disagree with what's being done without hating the show or the characters. Hell, during this past season of True Blood you saw folks on these boards talking about how much they didn't like what they did with Jason. So, regardless of how much you like the show, you'll always have the right to criticize it so long as you know what you're talking about, and it just wouldn't be right if anyone who had an issue with the show stopped watching. They obviously put the show out there to get to as many folks as possible, so if some of them tune in and don't like what they see, they can say as much.

Er, did someone say they wished the writers would die? o.O
  12. I feel bad for all the folks who were genuinely trying to defend the show, because then Durakken jumped in on their side and made it the side of wrongness.

When I think of Africa, I personally visualise the plains, not the desert and I was kind of referring to that.

Yet further proof that posting when sleep-deprived makes one look like an idiot.
Well didn't Lois say that she was going to Kenya?

I'm looking at the Wiki page for the Sahara Desert and it doesn't say covers Kenya, so perhaps the joke is on everyone else!
  14. No love for my Brad Bird suggestion? >.>
  15. I like the concept that the fact that they averted Armageddon may have messed with the order of things a little bit.

Sam seems, somewhat, diminished for his experiences. We'll see how long it takes for everyone to get onto grandpa and the others.

    Also,

/em crosses fingers for Ellen and Jo coming back as well
  16. Aw damn I just looked and apparently they're going to have Hawkgirl and Deadshot next episode. Wish they would have given them their own guest episodes.

More likely her meeting with Hawkgirl, who is supposed to show up next episode.

Yeah, I know. When I finished the last book I was like, to hell with Harry and Voldermort's duel. I wanna see Mama Weasley go off on Bellatrix.

And i loved the duel between H and V in the book, i would like to see it word for word in the movie. It wasnt the final strike IMO that made the end of the book it was the interaction between the two before the final strike.
It wasn't really a duel at all, though. But overall Rowling didn't go into much detail when it came to the wizard duels anyway. I prefer to see them fleshed out a bit in the movies.

Personally I can't wait to see how this all looks. Grim, big battles. Wonder if they will put the fanservice epilogue at the end?
Yeah, Voldemort is supposed to be the baddest of the bad, but it's not like there aren't other bad guys; they're just his lieutenants and minions and such.

I just hope they spruce up the final duel between Harry and Voldemort. >.>
  21. I think it's better when they focus on the "fighting off the monster" element than loneliness, namely because Banner is literally one of the biggest nerds on the planet so it's not like he's missing out on that zany social life he would have had otherwise.

  23. 1. Identity Crisis - With the art it's a tossup but the thing that does it for me is the emotional weight of the story

    2. Y: The Last Man vol. 1 - "Unmanned" - The first Crisis meandered a bit and was much better drawn than written, while Y: The Last Man is something that I would suggest or point out to anyone that doubts the merits of the medium

    3. The Hard Goodbye - Marv is just a more interesting character

    4. Action Comics #775 - "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way?" - Both are great, but Superman's story has the edge with the better art and the commentary

    5. Death: The High Cost of Living - I doubted the quality of this story after I mistakenly purchased The Time of Your Life first, but High Cost was much better and achieved what I think Gaiman was going for: it actually made you eager to meet Death, which is twisted

    6. The Killing Joke - Even though I think Moore's overrated, this story is easily superior in this matchup

    7. The Great Darkness Saga - Haven't read either of them, but I know their plots, and The Great Darkness Saga seems like something I would enjoy reading a lot more

    8. The Sinestro Corps War - Ridiculously good art and an epic space adventure

It was probably one of those times when Hulk got separated from Banner.
