Quote:To be fair, I think Taskmaster is just a "normal" human and even though he has the abilities to do whatever he sees, it extends only as far as his physical capabilities. Like he can mimic Spider-Man's movements but he won't be able to jump as far.Batman managed to disrupt Deathstroke's plans enough to make him fail on missions.
Batman did managed to take down Deatstroke when he had the help of the boy wonders and ganged up on him three on one.
But yeah, one on one usually goes pretty badly for Bats. Deathstroke is one of my all time favorite characters.
Deathstroke on the other hand is enhanced.
Anywho, I thought the title was referring to Disney's takeover of Marvel in general. Didn't know there was a new show out. May need to look into it. -

I was unimpressed with Annihilation but I've always been interested in Thanos so I may look into this in trades.

More like, "Please read Spider-Man again!"

Did anyone already bring up how Peter tried selling the webbing formula in the comics before but they turned him down because it dissolves after an hour?

-
Did anyone see what Alpha Crowley asked them to bring in the next ep? I missed that.

How about Sue Dibny's death?

Spider-Man would be a Green Lantern.

Gotta love Cas. -
Quote:I think by "stupid" you mean "awesome."Because it looks like a trailer for a videogame?
Because Snyder's use of slo-mo borders on self parody at this point?
Because this movie looks painfully stupid and I don't want the same director that made it to turn Superman into concept art with Michael Bay explosions?
And yes, I did mean "wary."
I don't mind Snyder's use of slow-mo, since it's not like he goes overboard with it and it will likely come in handy when dealing with a character that can move almost at the speed of light.
And Snyder has shown that he can balance action with powerful characterization.
I would think it's pretty obvious that Sucker Punch is meant to be fantastical and loaded with awesome, but I'm sure focusing on those parts in the trailer is only going to help draw more people to see the movie and they'll be more to it than that. -

So Clyde is Mosquito and Kyle is The Human Kite, right?

Quote:I think it'll be like Pan's Labyrinth.Looks disjointed.
What is this suppose to be about again? An escape from a mental institution? Only with inexplicable meanderings into various scifi, fantasy, and comic book settings?
I withhold judgment.
Only with cute chicks fighting giant gatling-gun-wielding-samurai. -
Quote:I've only read the first two hardcovers, but from what I saw it seemed like the creator wanted the interaction of the people and generally what the situation was doing to the characters to be the focus instead of the situation itself.Historically, post-apocalyptic/disaster series don't last long. The general public are either turned off because it's too depressing or simply wish some semblance of society quickly reforms so everything returns to "normal".
The two series I've seen that I can think of are Jericho and Jeremiah. I haven't seen the BBC series Survivors (either version).
Fighting off another hoard of zombies this week or rival group of survivors or scavenge for food or medicine or finding shelter so you can at least rest for a while without worry could get tiresome really quick. I haven't read the comic so I have no idea where this series could be going but I'll stick it out for this season. -

Welcome to the Batman Corps." -
Quote:I was referring to the fact that the TV show adds a lot more material and actually manages to be better than the books, and it's one of the few shows that one can point to as an example of a series based on another serial medium like The Walking Dead.True Blood stuck close to the first two books fairly well during the first two seasons. The third season started "creeping" across the plotlines of many of the later books (not just the third one) and it's not entirely clear if it's going to reign itself in and get more focused in the next season. I fear if it continues to spin out of control that it might not last much past its fourth season.

Quote:On the other hand: True Blood.Actually if this show is "staying true" to the comic then it's probably a good thing it's only 6 episodes long. All too often people who make TV shows tend to think the only thing that's important is to make as many episodes as possible regardless if the story actually calls for having lots of episodes or not. Some of the best shows ever made are ones that understand that sometimes "less is more" and that to do the material justice you don't have to run it into the ground or "jump the shark" as quickly as possible.

Basically it's going to try to cover two issues per episode then? And the finale will have them where they were at the end of the first hardcover?
