I hope they remove Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame.
Also reduce the virual badge requirements as mentioned.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed with this and basically what MadScientist said. Having these badges at the mercy of griefers is a bad idea. I could live with 5000 baddies defeated in virtual mode for the top badge. 50k is insane. -

I just want to know if it is now safe to add things to and remove things from my racks and bins without my base going POOF again.

Dev Digest is your friend. -
We're all still feeling the sting of the "Base love coming soon!" vibe that led up to Issue 13 with not much coming out as a result. Having said that, I do indeed love the lack of pathing rules and the lowered costs. I also like the bin security although it didn't mean much to my particular SG. So when a new issue announcement comes out with no mention of anything base related, there are going to be some complaints.
-
Frankly, I think if we want some badges, then this is going to be a valid tactic. There are too many farms as it is crowding out the "story" arcs. We all know that the Dev's choice and HoF badges are going to be tough to get, if at all.
Baffling to me as well is when I get feedback like, "I enjoyed your mission - funny dialog and a clever idea. Well done!", followed by 3 stars. Seriously, folks. Giving 3 stars is like giving someone a "C" on their report card. And 3 stars just sends a good story down to the dregs below the farming missions.
See a good story? Five stars and don't look back.
Having said that - my two arcs of interest:
Arc #46534 - "Mayhem at the Playbunny Mansion" - one mission, custom baddies and boss. Defeat the nefarious plans of Hugh Hafner and his deadly Playbunnies.
Arc #39890 - "The Axis Strikes Back!" - three shortish missions - Axis America, 5th Column, Requiem. Travel to 1943 to undo the damage done to the timestream by Requiem and the 5th Column. Save the world! -

Upon installing Combat Logs and Robo Surgery, I received the message "Map failed to start" when attempting to enter my base.

Have you earned the badges required for these, or did you craft them when Issue 14 went live and gave all the SG badges to all groups? If you don't have the badges normally, maybe that is what caused the issue. -
Yep, I was mentioning this the other day.
I have an arc that is partially in 1943 and totally would be better in black and white or sepia tone. -
Peculiar really. So many of these badges are kind of dumb. Some are pathetically easy to get and others are ones that most of the playerbase have no chance to get.

I think 668 as of this morning. The funny thing is that I was at 592 a week ago

It's best to get an account (free) at Photobucket and load them there. You can post links to them here on the forums.

Increasing the size of the plot involves placing a new plot onto the old one. All it does is add new space to your plot. You won't have to change anything in your base.

Uh, she writes the base column for the City Scoop, brainiac. I'm pretty sure nobody is going to complain.

because it's really the only thing justifying having a SG base with defenses in it right now.

You forgot "decorative" purposes. I have plenty of guns and such in my base with no plans to ever raid. -

Dear newer players,
Your advantage is that you have started playing when the game was in a more advanced state than it was in the beginning.
You didn't have to deal with the same buggy missions, early-level travel issues, the lack of radio/newspapers and the lack of a difficulty slider. You didn't have to wait for the level cap to be raised to 50. You didn't have to wait for capes/auras to be introduced, or or for any number of new costumes/pieces. You didn't have to wait for APPs, PPPs, HEATs, VEATs. You didn't have to wait for respecs, the markets, or IOs. In short, you didn't have to wait for a countless number of quantitative/qualitative changes which have improved the game over time.
Veterans did have to wait for many if not all of those things. Anyone who will be eligible for the 60-month badge any time soon will have waited for every single one. So sure, argue all you like that the fees vets have paid were "for five years of fun, and they would have paid anyway!" Just do keep in mind that the game is a much better product now -- and I don't believe it's a stretch to conclude that the participation of those very vets is a large reason for many of the game's improvements over the last five years.
That's your perk.
The 60-month badge is not as big a deal as some are making it out to be. Travel powers are optional, nowadays, more so than they ever were before -- and at least for some people, the usefulness of the pre-requisites is among the main reasons they take travel powers at all. Temp powers are marginally inferior mechanically, and certainly inferior conceptually, to normal pool travel powers, but they also don't cost power picks (and perhaps more importantly, pool picks).
Saving a power pick or having more flexibility in the early part of a build if they choose to take a travel power is the extremely long-time vets' perk. Take it from someone who's been around awhile; you've gotten the better part of this deal.
Sincerely,
Level Six Flyer.

Ok so I want to make some of those glass tubes that people are always putting prisoners in in comics.

Great band, great song. I've seen them live several times and Les Claypool is a wonder to behold.

Wow, nice base!
I wonder if I can get in there to film... I'll really have to go back and check out some of the other featured bases, these would make GREAT set pieces!

Hey, thanks. I appreciate the compliment. If you want to get a tour or do your filming, let me know. The global is @Dr. Feedback.
Hmmm... now I think you meant the other one.

I meant the Infinity Legion's base. I could easily see doing some filming in there.

Heh. Good ref. -
I also find it bewildering that a random rare piece of salvage costs 30 merits, whereas a random TF pool recipe costs 20. You have to be a special kind of desperate to fall for paying 30 merits for rare salvage.
