I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I have to ask: if he's in the lava getting smacked by a brute at 75% fury and his bar isn't moving, had he perhaps already hit the surrender point? He isn't going to take any more damage past that point.

Quote:This was on Liberty. Previous time was on Freedom, years ago. I'm used to the occasional disconnect, it's part of the territory, but getting totally locked out of a mission like that really bites. Since then, I haven't had any problems getting into any other missions. It might be something upstream, that hadn't occurred to me... not user-serviceable, anyway.Yeah, I get this in certain Tip missions.
I think certain servers need a maintenance round.
What server are you on? I'm on Virtue, getting this so far on Hero Tip missions in Atlas. Two of them so far.
Hope it clears up for you. Resetting the mission might help. That wasn't an option for me, being the end of a trial, but for a single tip mission it might push you to an instance on a different IP and that might get past whatever is blocking it. -
I got onto a respec trial for the first time in ages, and when we got to the final mission I was unable to enter the reactor building; the only one on the team to be locked out. Every time I clicked on the door I got Vista's spinning wheel until it timed out and gave me 'mapserver unavailable'. Once that happened, all I could do was log out to desktop; logging out any other way to me to nothing but skybox (no world, no UI elements). When I started COH again it always told me 'that account is already logged in', as for any other disconnect.
I tried rebooting the machine, turning off the firewall, but no joy getting in. The only other time I've been locked out of trials this way was when Norton blocked a mission server IP for a misdiagnosed intrusion attempt, but I don't see any log entry to indicate that. Any idea what might have caused this? -

My mutant defender "Yiu Otter Noh" cares deeply about this upgrade! (And, most likely, would reject the new head because it just doesn't look right. :P )

I hope they fix the video server so that this video (and all of the other ones) is available again. Or I need to get off the double secret naughty list. -
I think there are gender preconceptions, but enough people play against them that there's a good mix. My first main character concept was for a tiny girl with a big axe, which plays a bit against type but isn't unheard of. I tried to compensate by making a Huge ill/emp troller of max size, who is also entertaining, but most of my characters have been female regardless of AT.

Quote:Actually, I think the drop rate is too fast as it is. I mean, I'm glad that I would be able to craft a common boost in a week or two by playing an hour a day if I wanted to, but it seems a bit fast for something that's supposed to be rare.I also wish the shard drops would fall at a better rate outside of TFs.
If they dropped as rarely as purples, I'd be upset. I think I've only gotten two purple drops across all of my characters since those were added to the game. But that might be due to not playing my 50s as 50s very often, given the lack of end game content before this issue. I think I've played them more in the past week than I have in the past year. -
Yes, It's true, the Well of the Furies hates you. Well... "hates" is too strong a word. It's just testing you, to make sure you have the patience required of an Incarnate. Or something.
-
Oh. Well, that explains it. Yes, this was the first morality mission for that character. Guess I need to RTFRN again.
-
I've gotten tips today, including a hero morality tip, but when I ran that morality mission I got 50 regular merits instead of a purple Hero merit. Not sure if that was intended, so I bugged it.
I did have a while with no tips at all, so I think it's just a run of bad luck. -
Agreed on that -- I've wanted a female Huge type since I started playing years ago. ^_^
Things I'd also like:
The ability to 7-slot powers, or at least a power, maybe starting at level 45 or even just a bonus you get at level 50.
More costume options for all body types. Always.
Flowing hair. I know, I know, Ghost Widow is special, but hair envy needn't be part of that. Long hair that flows would look much better with the flowing capes.
Pie-throwing emote (and possibly pie-in-face response emote)
Moderately customizable generic NPCs for bases. Yes, that's right, I would like some pool boys. Possibly a doctor-y looking person in the Med Bay. And perhaps some female bouncers for the dance club. -
I have slots; I used to have 1, now I have 3. Redemption is borked right now, though, so I can't create a Praetorian on Freedom until they sort it out. Never had a problem with it before, they always popped up immediately, but right now nothing is going through.

Heh, I knew nothing about building computers until I decided I was going to build one and read a book to learn how -- my baby is almost a year old now and still cooking, so yay! I mention this because I built two hard drives right into it: one's a 7,000rpm 1TB Seagate drive I use primarily for storage, and the other's a 10,000rpm 150GB Western Digital drive I use primarily for running programs. The higher speed on the smaller drive makes a difference on how fast programs run, in case you decide to upgrade at some point.
My external drive is a Fantom Green Drive, which uses a 1TB Seagate in it -- when I got it from Newegg (love Newegg), it was just over $100 bux with the rebate, which isn't too shabby. I use it for back-ups/storage, and it runs fine, but I don't have a good feel for how it would run under constant use. I've heard good things about Western Digital's external drives, but they may be pricier.
Thems be my shiny pennies on the matter. GL! -
Hell, I was just trying to solo, and the game wouldn't load zones for me when I tried to start mishes, either the regular kind or in AE. Global was buggy too, so maybe there's a server issue? That's basically the error window I got after trying it a couple times.
Grr. Hope they fix it soon. -

Quote:That store has had the restaurant ambient sound forever. It's a bug, but not one that's attracted enough attention to fix, I guess. Considering that entire neighborhoods lose theme music from time to time, it's just one of those little quirks.I just came out of the Orion Store (Science store) in Steel Canyon, and standing in the archway outside the door under the spinning Orion sign, I am hearing the sounds of people chatting, and what sounds like a mike giving feed back. If I move away, it disappears, but when I go back under the arch it's there again.
What the hell is this? Is this a sound bug or something? Or is this sounds from a secret room like the Cyrptic offices in Grandville that have a few sounds coming from strange places?
Anyone know what's going on? I thought I heard this the other day coming out of another building but I didn't pay attention to it. Is the outside of the building supposed to sound like a crowded restraunt? -
I'm an older, married, male gamer, and on Freedom I've got 13 female toons vs 2 male. Numbers on other servers are more evenly divided genderwise; my choices on Freedom are strongly influenced by the fact that my first main was a girl axe tanker, and then as a member of the Babes of War I was strongly encouraged to make other female toons to fit the group theme. My wife tends towards more female than male toons, I think, but I haven't counted them.
*shrug* One more anecdotal data point. -
It is rather telling. From that data, it seems that most players are inclined to rate favorably, but a core group is determined to downrate higher rated arcs. Unfortunate, but unsurprising.
I don't even look through rated arcs anymore -- I scroll through the arcs that have never been played or rated looking for something that piques my interest. I've found some really good arcs that way, but it's time-consuming. Though a little reading never hurt anyone.

I can't believe no one else has said this one yet:
The catwalk/Fashion Show AP map from the Twilight's Son TF in Ouroboros.Me want.
It would also be sweet to have the giant robot room from the Hess TF (although it would be even sweeter if we could get the giant robot to move, mwahaha). -
Hmm, well, I can tell you why my MA arc (#176837) broke after I published it, since the symptoms were the same (arc wouldn't load, no error message, etc.). The default text for the Kheldian ally I put in it was too long for the allotted space for the description, but that didn't show up as an error when I published the arc. I'm not sure if that was because the text limit was reset since then or if the MA feature used to simply ignore limits for default text and now doesn't, but I got no warning -- it just suddenly wasn't playable.
Oh, it's playable now, or at least the last time I checked. I went in and reduced the default text manually. It would have been nice to get an error message telling me I had a problem with an arc when I logged into the game so I could fix it right away, since I have no idea how long it was unplayable. And I can understand wanting to keep filesizes smaller, but text seems like a strange place to cut -- wouldn't graphics take up more space?
I don't have a spawning boss in mine, although I did have the burning forest. The arc still ran even with the forest removed, though -- it just plopped everything onto the Arachnos AP map, which is at the top of the Unique Outdoor maps, I think. I've since changed that to a regular forest, and altered my mish text to remove references to trees on fire. Pity -- I preferred that map. -
Yeah, I think the fact that shorter arcs get more plays is primarily due to time constraints -- if you're not sure you have the time to commit to a longer arc, it's easier to run a short one. I've done that, though I'm always on the lookout for longer arcs that look fun/interesting.
Something I've started to do is search through arcs that have no ratings or plays -- it's ridiculous how many of those there are -- to see what looks good. I've got a whole list of arcs I'm going to try just from that. I figure the people who already have 999+ plays don't really need my input anyway.
