Why would you do that?
It's on live now..
*wanders off to the tailor chuckling*

Oh ho ho -

[ QUOTE ]
As for the Super Science Booster Pack and Mission Architect Story slots, we should be able to give you an update on this later today.
[/ QUOTE ]
I assume the announcement will come at a similar time to the store going back online?
[/ QUOTE ]
The update is likely to be: 'It's on the store now'.
Because it is.
Now.
Get in quick, before the store goes to treacle again... -
Got in quick after last time, bought, applied, off to test.
-
<cough>

So, a precise definition of 'today' would be good. Specifically, the one being used by Positron....
:edit:
Forgot this, too. -

Bots are now fixed, thank god. And, unlike some sets, cycle all attacks just fine =]
[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately, my idiot Protector Bots and occasionally Assault Bot seem to enjoy legging it into melee more often than I think they should. ie, they shouldn't, IMO.
I'm still trying to pin down exact reproduceable circumstances, though it seems to be related to them running out of charged attacks, however, they tend to leg it up to the current target, and then just stand there.
It's not all the time, either, so testing it's proving to be a pain in the backside. -
[ QUOTE ]
It doesn't/. But things like Prrototype Element and Access Bypass do... So it stil might be not for IO crafting.
[/ QUOTE ]
But the Prototype Element and Access Bypass don't show up in the Invention Salvage section of the AH.
The new ones do.
Therefore, it's more than likely that it's new stuff that'll be coming for crafting purposes, which also implies new recipes, since none of the current recipes (obviously) use the new salvage. -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't see any mention of Praetorian Clockwork in those new salvage items?
[/ QUOTE ]
Then maybe you should check the descriptions of the 'Android' items in game?
Or perhaps just read Orius' post above. -
[ QUOTE ]
Now... shall I change my board name or not?
Scarlet aka Riff
[/ QUOTE ]
If you're going to change your board name, change it Soon(tm) and pick a name you'll be happy with long term, as once the mythical board merge happens, you'll not be able to change it again. -
[ QUOTE ]
Siege has a huge army of androids - maybe these are from them?
[/ QUOTE ]
'Praetorian Clockwork' almost invariably in the game refers to Neuron and Antimatters robots. (the Silver/Blue robots)
The emphasis on Praetorian robots and Devouring Earth is interesting, as the Praetorians could be predicted with Going Rogue, but DE is less predictable.
Of course, it's entirely possible that the stuff showing up ATM is just a subset of additional salvage types due to come in GR.
Which is not a thought I'm fond of, as it dilutes the supply of particular types of salvage, and more set IO's reduces the chance of getting particular recipes.
Plus, if they add any more bleeding Snipe/Sleep/Slow/Confuse recipes to the game it'll just cease to be funny (not that it's particularly amusing as it is, when you can have an entire evenings named recipe drops be worthless dross...). -
[Android Armor Plate], [Android Blaster], [Android Circuitry], [Brain Lichen], [Plague Spores], [Primordial Moss], [Progenitor Lichen], [Undamaged Android Brain]
All those ^ have appeared in the Invention Salvage section of the AH/BM.
<Personal opinions deleted on second thoughts> -

Went back a couple of badges of MM topics and couldn't see this but after reading the patch notes for I15 I saw this:
"Protector Bot Seeker Drones no longer have any collision at all."
Does this mean they will stop getting stuck and I wont have to TP them anymore????
[/ QUOTE ]
It did when I tested it.
I'm not sure if they've stopped the idiot bots legging it into melee yet, though. I didn't get a chance to do any testing on later iterations of test, due to my lower spine exploding. -

Fools! It's NEVER too early to start whining!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, I dunno, 5am's a pretty unsociable hour to be doing *anything* IMO. -

Heya!
Yes, I'm back and playing again! At the moment, I'm planning to stick around for a while. Thanks to the timezone issue (I moved to Australia) it's hard to meet up with folks, but I'll do my best!
Sorry to hear about your back! Hope it gets better soon. I have an EeePC, and I love it.That's what I do all my writing on at the moment.
Take care!
[/ QUOTE ]
I Know you're in Oz, a) it says so in your profile, and b) you told me on TS a year or so ago, and a couple of weeks ago.
I'm guessing you've not connected my board ID with my ingame ID, Sparks.
<--- Canine on the boards = @Li Sensei.
You're using my TS server, Sparks. I'm hurt, nay *wounded* that you forgot me so fast. :P
Well, good luck and I'll stop clogging up your thread.
BTW, back is starting to respond now, but that may have ssomething to do with the prescriptions I got off the doctor ysterday. Codeine, Diclofenac and Diazepam, all at the same time. I may be a little out of it, but at least I can stand upright while gibbering... -
I don't care what country they're from, MoSTF is an achievement to be proud of.
Congrats all round. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh, awesome! A thread, just for us.
We do have a base with some handy amenities for players - we're working on expanding it at the moment. Come along, get involved, have some fun!
If you have any questions, feel free to drop me or @Rhygar a line in-game. Hope to talk to you all soon!
[/ QUOTE ]
'Lo there Sparks.
So you're stickng around for a while this time?
Drop Lifeline a line in game and see about arranging a coalition if you want transporter access while you're still building your base. The main DW base has all zones catered for.
Unless you want to do it all yourself, of course
I'd do it myself, but my back's gone kaboom, and I don't know when I'll be back in game (typing this laid flat in bed, via my EeePC.
Good luck, and maybe I'll see you around. -
[ QUOTE ]
Don't no about all of you but I for one would like to have this particular bug fixed its really annoying and am sure its not to hard for the devs to fix, I'm talking about the bug were Protector bots get stuck on nothing they just stand in one spot unable to move until if your lucky they decide to jump.
Ive been told they get stuck on the drones they summon and if they get round to fixing them I would rather a real fix don't want the ability taken away as a quick fix.
While there at it wouldn't mind an AI update for bots so they stop running into melee range and getting themselves killed.
[/ QUOTE ]
From the Patch notes for Issue 15 open beta :
[ QUOTE ]
Protector Bot Seeker Drones no longer have any collision at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
If I'm interpreting this correctly, Protector bots should no longer get stuck on their Seeker drones, which was the issue previously. -
[ QUOTE ]
Think a decent first thread here would be to see how many people create their enhancements before selling rather than just the recipe?
It only hit me earlier than the large majority (of people i asked) were only selling recipes since the cost of crafting didnt seem worth it. Do you feel like this is true?
Personally i think all items after level 30 should be crafted and then sold since thats the level when the money starts flowing. Thoughts on this matter?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm making a small but steady income on my two badge toons by making and selling generic level 50's. I'd probably make more just by playing the alts, but it doesn't take much brainpower to make and sell IO's.
Admittedly, this is only possible as I've previously put in the frankly rather ludicrous amount of inf and time required to get all the crafting badges.
Any alt other than my hero or villain 'badger' (I'm not a real badge hunter, but they're as close as I get) that gets generic recipe drops vendors them, as the chew up too many auction slots. Salvage gets auctioned, except for rares, which I keep.
Set recipes get kept if I've got a use for them, otherwise they get Auctioned or vendored, depending on the price. I never make them up before selling, that's just too much faff on.
It's also a side effect of the fact that I never look for crafted IO's when I'm looking for sets, I always get the recipe and salvage and make it up myself. I'm not sure why, I just never bother to look for crafted IO's.
The 'Good 'uns' among the recipe drops NEVER get auctioned. This includes Karma/Steadfast KB protection, Steadfast Res/Defs, Performance Shifter procs etc. etc. ie, the recipes that tend to be useful on more than 'niche' toons. -
Congrats.
It's a swine of a task to manage, so well done.
We nearly had half a dozen heart failures during the final fight against Recluse on our only successful run so far.
2 SR scrappers, both of whom got nailed and only saved by the one shot code o_O.
Emjoy the badge. -
[ QUOTE ]
meh, i wish they'd let us keep earned badges
[/ QUOTE ]
What difference will it make?
The people who've put the effort in to get the harder to acquire badges will still be ahead on badge count of the people who haven't.
Assuming that badge count is what floats your boat.
From the badge titles point of view, yes, it would be nice if getting the badge that's remaining unlocked a slew of alternative titles (from a drop down box on the badge list, maybe) from the badges that are being removed, but I really don't think that the technology for that is in the game. Which is a shame. -
[ QUOTE ]
Fooey!
Take care Mids, we'll miss you and your awesome designer!
[/ QUOTE ]
As I read it he's not leaving the game, and the hero planner's not going away either, but the reins of the planner are being passed to Steiner as Mids doesn't have the time to devote to it any more (and I'm guessing the time required to keep it working and up to date is not insignificant).
But as others have said, thanks for your efforts and planner, Midnight. -
Regarding the stance indicated by Posi, I'm in the supporter camp.
And that's all I trust myself to say on the matter, except to reiterate the sentiment I've seen a few times.
Nobody. Made. You. Exploit. The. Mission. Architect. -

When it took 6 months to hit 50? And you enjoyed the journey?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's never taken me 6 months to hit 50, but I'm still enjoying the journey, each and every time I make it.
[ QUOTE ]
When you'd play your toon because you liked that particular char-you liked logging on as that alt, everyonew knew you as that persona?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm levelling a new toon, and while I do that, I don't tend to touch my alts much. However, I've not really been known for a single toon for a good few years now.
[ QUOTE ]
You'de do something spectacular like stood in a mob and took all the damage.. or wiped out a group in a single blast and someone near you would go wow? And you'd smile because even though 6 slotting that power meant you weren't as accurate or you had a little less endurance, it was worth it for cool moments like that?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've had plenty of moments I remember fondly, and I'm still having them. (latest one is a 6 shield user team on the final mission in Croatoa. Multiple Shield Charges make a mess of Redcap spawns... )
[ QUOTE ]
When all the 50s met at hamidon and picked up a real reward and had a great 3 hours even though most of the time you were just standing there?
[/ QUOTE ]
I was never a major Hami raid fan, and once I'd been Hami Tank on Unions first successful Hami raid (the old version, back in 2005. I was the idiot Regen Scrapper who volunteered to annoy the core), I never really felt the need to go on any more.
[ QUOTE ]
When it was (for allits faults) simple and straightforward fun?
[/ QUOTE ]
The game is still fun. To me at least. For all those who no longer think it is, then I'm sorry, but IMO, the problem's with you, your expectations and demands, not the game.
[ QUOTE ]
When all the devs had to do was just add to the canvass they had built rather than nerf the fun out of the powers and position us so that farming became a necessary part of the game if you really wanted your char to rock?
[/ QUOTE ]
IO's are by no way shape or form essential. I've got various alts still on SO's, and they're all effective, some hideously so.
I've tanked the STF on an SO'd Ice/Ice tank. I've blasted a STF on an SO'd Archery/EM blaster. I've gotten MoSTF on my stone/fire scranker who has one full set (Perfect Zinger in taunt) and the rest just generic level 35 IO's.
[ QUOTE ]
Where has the soul of this game gone? And, more to the point can it ever come back again?
[/ QUOTE ]
The playerbase changes ith time, it's the same for all MMO's.
So far as I can tell, a lot of the 'old guard' who still play and enjoy the game are a little like me. I don't PuG, I team with friends I know well, and I'm not socially gregarious in the game itself, so I'm pretty much only known to a very small circle of players. And that suits me fine, as I'd much rather solo and learn the ins and outs of how my toons work in various situations, than PuG.
The major change IMO is the boards. We've had 3, or is it 4 moderators in the last couple of years. Avatea seems to be doing as much on the US boards as on the EU boards (may be an erroneous impression) so the level of moderation over here has dropped a long way from where it used to be, and I'm sorry to say, but it was the moderation as much as the playerbase that kept these boards as pleasant as they were. We've always been in need of a firm smacking down on these boards, and anyone who remembers otherwise needs their rose tinted glasses removing. -

6 pets is equal to 75% resist to all damage types.
[/ QUOTE ]100 - (100 / 7) = 85.7, not 75
[/ QUOTE ]
The Bodyguard formula gives the MM 2 shares and the pets 1 share each.
6 pets means that said pets take 6/8ths of the damage, 1/8th each and the MM 2/8ths, so in percentages the pets take 12.5% each, and the MM 25%.
So the original quote was correct. Effectively 25% resist to all damage types, but it's ablative resistance, if you don't have any way to heal the pets. -
Congrats to those who got the AV badges from RV, and congrats to Echo's mob for their Arena win.
No matter what you say though, you'll never get me to enjoy PvP.
(did you find the meeting point then, Echo?)
