Yep. I don't understand why people think the way it is on Live right now could be better in any way. If four people log off without quitting an 8-man TF, you're going to be hurting with *either* version. At least with this new version, it'll allow for team attrition in many circumstances. The current Live version doesn't allow for *any.*

Was amuses me about this whole discussion is that people are ranting and raving about all these terrible "nerfs", but I never noticed anything in this game being particularly difficult. Is this game really so hard to play? My characters seem to level even faster than they did back in the old days before everything was "nerfed".
[/ QUOTE ]
What amuses me is as much as Positron hates the word nerf it lured him here to post three times. Completely ignoring many of the hundreds of posts on these boards with real merit like Different Flying Style.
Things are a lot different from when I started playing. When I started, you could solo, a lot, and not have to worry that much. Powers enabled you to be the kind of superhero you might imagine playing (even with the limited power choices). Now adays we're pushed towards teams being the goal.
In the old days, when someone hit one of the level 9 powers, they were awesome to behold. Now we're about 15 levels lower on the power scale and Regen people cringe when anyone uses any four letter word with a N in it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess it just goes to show that two different people can see the same things and come to a completely different understanding of what happened.
Part of my perspective probably comes from not having played any of the "overpowered" sets from the early days like /dev blasters /fire tanks or /regen scrappers.
If I thought that the developers were continually nerfing the game in order to lessen my enjoyment, I would quit immediately. It surprises me that you seem to think that is what's happening, and yet you still play.
To each their own, of course. -

I must be the only one that's never gotten anything in the clues tab regarding Keys...
[/ QUOTE ]
In every mayhem mission that I have been in, and I have been in a lot, there are various bosses from villain groups hanging around on the map. For the Atlas Park one, they are Skulls. For the Founders one they are Dev Earth. Find these bosses and kill them and their minions. Once you kill the boss and minions, you should get the "found key" message. Even if you don't get it, check the clue tab.
Also, keep an eye on the map for waypoints.
If you kill the bosses you get a key and a side mission.
Usually, the first one is the "rescue villain from jail" mission. -

I think the point was that it's much easier now to take down all the Henchman, leaving the MM WITHOUT Bodyguard to take the full damage from the next attack.
[/ QUOTE ]
Anyone who could do that could have one or two shotted the MM without the bodyguard feature anyway. -
More options are good, even if I don't use them.
Fewer options are bad.
Therefore, PvP is good. I like choices. -
If, as mentioned above, the cutoff for the badge is something like 20% of the monster's hit points, wouldn't it be possible for 5 teams of 8 to each do 20% of the damage and for 40 people to get the badge at once?

I have more or less given up posting on this forum for a variety of reasons, but I feel the need to say two things:
1) Issue 5 looks quite interesting.
2) Some of you whine a lot. -
The Victory forum channel has been quiet the last two days, and that makes me sad.
I may be anti-social, but I prefer to actually have someone to ignore. -
Geez, Hamster is making all kinds of sense in this thread.
That's a good thing, right? -
These arguments about what it "true" anime and what isn't remind me of religious wars. And not the good stuff about religious wars either, only the bad stuff.
-
Without really trying all that much, I've seen the Paladin under construction and in completed form, the Octopus and the Ghost Ship.
So far, I haven't actually seen the Ghost Ship dropping any of the little ghosties, I've just seening leaving Talos a couple of times.
I think over time people will tend to see them. They aren't really all that rare. It's just the luck of the draw. -
I mostly agree, but I think that the Hollows is fine. My evidence is that it's always full, so it must be working for someone.
The Shadow Shard (Fire Base Zulu and points beyond) is a little weird, but it's definately different and interesting. I lived out there from 45-50, but I had a flying blaster, so the Rularuu were decent solo opponents.
I would also add Boomtown to the list of fairly uninhabited zones. Not as bad as Faultline, but fairly empty. -

the best thing to come out of canada is Elisha Cuthbert
[/ QUOTE ]
mmmm.... Elisha.......mmmm..... see, Canada IS good. Plus we've got great beer if you americans want to stop drinking that watery stuff
[/ QUOTE ]
It's been my experience that it's very important for the egos of people from European countries and Canada that they believe that all the beer from their countries is good and all the beer in the US is bad. I think it comes from a deep seeded need to feel superior.
I used to argue, but then I realized that I might do enormous psychological harm to our important allies if I knocked this important mental underpinning out of their fragile self esteem.
Now, whenever the whole beer thing comes up, I just nod politely with a concerned look on my face. -

There would be NO complaining from me if a contact would warn me BEFORE I accept a mission that I will not be able to do it alone. THAT is the beef I have with the current state of this game. Accepting a mission and THEN find out I'll need a team just plain stinks of FORCED GROUPING.
[/ QUOTE ]
It has been stated previously by the DEV's that contacts should let you know when a group will be necessary for a mission. If you get on a mission where it does not it is a bug and should be reported as such. It is not an attempt at force grouping just something slipping through the cracks.
[/ QUOTE ]
A bug? TWO times in a row? That's not a bug.
[/ QUOTE ]
They've stated that it shouldn't EVER happen. /Bug it. Over. And over. And over.
That's the only way to get it fixed. -

You're saying the new Epic AT requires a hero with an entirely yellow costume?

Here on the forum however I will continue to post what I like and don't like as long as I do continue paying.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. Post whatever you want.
I'm still not fond of sweeping generalities, but if we removed those we'd have to shut down the entire forum. -
[ QUOTE ]
That cuts both ways. I can no more presume that my opinion reflects that of the majority than you can presume it does not.
Or do you normally assume that every post is supposed to represent you as well? This may comes as a shock but they aren't all about you.
[/ QUOTE ]
The difference between you and I is that I would never consider posting something like "It is depressing that in each update the best things are the bug-fixes and UI improvements."
If I wanted to make a sweeping generalization of opinion like that, I'd at least label it as such.
I have never, EVER claimed that my opionions represent anything other than my opinions. I do not pretend to have a finger on the pulse of CoH nor do I speak for anyone other than myself. -
[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]
Let me finish that sentence for you.
... for me, because I realize that my personal opinions are not necessarily shared by anyone, let alone a majority of players.
