I don't think that either of the venues that we've used in the past down in Brighton are still running - Gamer-Heaven or Netpama. As more and more households get computers the demand for cyber / gaming cafes must be decreasing.

As an Aussie living in England I had to stop using the word "spunk". Not sure of it's meaning stateside. But I could no longer say such things as "She's a spunky looking girl", or "He's full of spunk this morning".

Sad thoughts to think that people known by their globals may have to change

The Defiant SG/VG Rankings have been updated (yes, it's been a month since I did the first update)...
http://www.sjcameron66.webspace.virginmedia.com/
As a summary....
- The Karma Police remain in #1 spot and have had a bumper month adding close to 5m prestige. They are the leading Super Group
- Murders Unlimited at #5 are the highest ranked Villain Group but The Evil Echelon and The League of Extraordinary Villains are making up ground at #6 and #9 respectively
- The biggest earners? The League of Extraordinary Villains who chalked up a considerable 6.4m infamy in the month.
- The biggest movers? The Titan Legion up 18 places to #79 having added an impressive 3.6m prestige (an increase of 19% compared to a month ago).
- No one has dropped out of the Top 100, but with The Yorkshire Contingent now occupying #100 with no prestige added will they still be there next month?
Enjoy!! -
Thanks Kallandra. Will check them out, especially as my hotel is 2 minute walk from them.

I'm travelling up to Manchester today (meetings tomorrow) and have nothing planned this evening. Can anyone recommend a cyber / gaming cafe that has CoH available? I will be in the city centre (Princess Street), and don't have a gaming laptop available.

Quote:There will be flow both ways as non-EU people get the chance to use servers more aligned with their time zones / online time.Sorry to say this, but while it is a good thing to have equality throughout the playerbase I can forsee Defiant becoming like a ghost town within a few weeks of the list merge. people may not wish to pay for character transfers between servers but I can see some of Defiant's players disappearing onto other servers and once they get settled then they'll make the occassional character transfer and before you know it they hardly play on the 'EU' servers at all. I suspect Union will be the same. The Lure of more populated servers will be strong.
Just the thought of having the choice is the big plus in this. If you are working odd hours all of a sudden there is a choice of more populated servers to have alts on. If it's anything that customers demand, it's choice, and this will give us that option. -
Quote:Just to make it easier for future friends across the pond...if it's good and it comes from anywhere within the British Isles then it is British. If it's not so good and isn't from England, then it is definitely Scottish, Welsh or Irish. That is the general rule of thumb, follow that and you won't go far wrong."England expects that every man will do his duty."
This distinction between British and English seems a largely modern affectation. Historically, they've been interchangeable.
Server list merge is great news, I get to create alts on the "Oceania" server soon!! Strewth, it's like coming home - break out the ice cold VB -
About time it seems. Damn, even more alts will become available, once I've mastered the US Engllish language that is! -
Congratulations on the new addition, do you get a badge for that?

Curse the call of Tesco every Thursday evening!
Ahh, just remembered that my ice tank is on union anyway -
wow....
ahh, so that's what mom looks like upside down -
I use the android kindle app on my phone, so many free books to choose from!!
-
oooh, where's my Zebedee outfit, that's definitely a spring theme!
Unfortunately I can't be there as I am on "returning the son to Uni" taxi duty. Have a good time all! -
Hmm....
TF Races as these can be done as server vs server
Death Race for Level 1's involving collecting exploration badges from each zone. You could even do it as a "Top Gear" style challenge where we have a leaderboard at the event posting the fastest times over the weekend. A death race could be set up for each area - Paragon, Rogue Isles and Praetoria and the winner is the one with the lowest combined time for all three! A "City of Triathalon" Event!! -
Flash mob Dante dancing spectacular - T-Mobile's new ad is taking shape!
-
I would say look to share, that gives people the chance to drink, talk, drink, eat, drink, bio break, drink, watch Dante dance, etc etc
-
Ooooh, plenty of time to plan! I will be there for both days, and unless a lottery win brings a laptop my way, I will need to borrow a PC.
....and if anyone requires a lift from the south, am happy to oblige! -
Nice time Philtrum et al!
It's always interesting to see how people have the information set up on their screens as well. Where do you get that little box that shows the percentages for each type of defence? That looks handy.
