Well, I'll freely admit that if I were to wake up a 19-year-old, stunningly gorgeous teenage girl with fantastic martial arts skills, I wouldn't exactly be thinking I got a bad deal, particularly if I got a blonde, superpowered girlfriend and buckets of money to go with it.
But then I am mad.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd be a little girl or a killer robot.
There's no chance I'd get to be as pimp as anything inspired by Dr Doom... -

Oh don't get me wronmg, my wife and I intend to use it, it'll save a heap of time trying to keep the alts in line. My fear is people spamming in Atlas for pact buddies or worse here in the forum.

True I suppose, perhaps they can give us another board?
Looking for pact? -
Think Hero One was his name.
Though he may of been part of some sort of British super team that uses Hero One, Two, Three etc as code names. Some sort of MI division?
"Hero One on route!"
"Hero Two running interference"
"Hero Three on crowd control!" -

Probably be bad due to Wrath coming out today as well. People have been prepping for it. More people will be scuttling off to WoW now it's launched.

Traitors!!
On topic though was wondering about something I posted regarding player created npcs for MA.... was I correct in recalling them saying one of the reasons of hanging back and separating it from its initial i13 release slot was to add this feature, or had I been hit with Domi confuse when I read that,
I cant seem to recall the thread that was on (if it ever was)
P.S Traitors!!

It was the major reason yes. -

Righto, back from work now, so I can elaborate a little more.
First up, Jane is attached to a themed Supergroup already. We're trying to give ourselves somehing of a boost in terms of general activity, and I'm trying to go /think on some plots and the like. Unfortunately a lot of time at work has drained me of most mental functions this week, so I'm a bit slow with it.
Secondly, Varrick is indeed a player character. The loyalty is there, but it isn't overriding any and all interaction with other people. My problem is that said attachment to Varrick is one of the biggest facets to Jane, which - as fun as it is - has made her pretty shallow. I'm trying to flesh the girl out without neccesarily diluting that kind of mindset; her rise and fall through the ranks of Arachnos is a pretty significant chunk in her storyline.
However, point taken and I'll sit down and have a think about where I can go from here. Honestly, when I look at it like this I can see it mirroring the reasons I got in a huff with WoW roleplay several years back - though it was never intended to be, my character's partner (Varrick being the non-romantic equivelant here) was a bit too important for my own even though I denied it at the time. You can guess what happened when said person left...

Epilogue....
TV's across Paragon about mid day.....
Snow fills the screen as the signal is interrupted, it opens to a small girl, her skin is grey with Halloween make up, an obvious wig and fake beard are resting on the girls face, white polyester all combed back
Greetings you sinful slow pokes of Paragon city! It is I Doctor Scaletrix going to get up to some mischievous tricks! the girl chuckles pulling the wig and beard off, rubbing them across her face smearing the make up off.
Actually it's me Tomb but man are you guys retarded or something? I mean the clues weren't that frigging difficult to guess but nope you lost out and some kids lost their lives. Still at least they get to see their parents again because guess what? I off'ed them as well! the girl quakes launching into a body shaking giggle.
Still big ups to our winner!
A cutaway box appears on the screen showing Sanguine Petal in full armour suit below it is written the winner.
Who just goes to show money is more important than ethics! again the malicious giggle
Commiserations hero guys and gals you came so close the next clue lead to here!
The picture on the cutaway changes to a simple wooden bridge, prime location of Territorial disputes between the Hellions and the Skulls .
From there to here
The picture shows a pond close to Salamanca, floating orbs of light lighting the picture with an eary glow.
And from there to
The picture changes to the inside of a warehouse, ash and blackened skeletons lay huddled on the floor bones cracked from the heat, sprawled out from their last moments of life.
Oh right not a nice sight.... mainly because you cape jockeys suck!
This is Tomb signing out!
The picture snow storms again, resuming normal broadcasting. -

But they were innocent - they weren't doing anything against anyone, so they wern't acting against the interests of any community.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then why were they singled out?
They may have been innocent of making deals with the devil, but they were doing something to upset the balance of the community thus drawing down attention on themselves. -

Yea plus its probably that great friend of ours - time. Whilst Italians still exist, those that have any connection to the witch hunts are now gone (well kind of my research into the subject for uni found some pretty frightening contempory stories). I'm sure if I picked a modern female serial killer instead of Elizabeth Bathory I'd probably have been generic'd. Same if someone made a Hitler toon, and 5th Columists got their change due to it being too soon and could cause offence.
The witch hunts however are centuries old altho thousands across Europe lost their lives, I don't think it impacts us as much as something like the holocaust.
[/ QUOTE ]
The "happened a long time ago" angle doesn't really hold up - a crime is a crime, no matter when it happened - it doesn't become less evil as time passes.

*shrugs*
Depends if it can be called a crime or not, I mean after all slaying a few heretics to force the community tighter together could be seen as something of a necessity in times of strife.
Just because we're all enlightened and stuff these day's doesn't mean we can judge the actions of our ancestors from today's comfortable living standards.

The murder of innocent people can be judged as a crime, no matter what time you're viewing it from - it doesn't matter how comfortable times are now - innocent is innocent.
[/ QUOTE ]
All was been a believer in the needs of the many against the needs of the few. Is it really a crime to kill one person so thirty more can survive?
Edit: Particularly as said person was some how acting against the interests of the community, hence them being a target to be singled out. -

I also roleplay and the city has been sitting under a cloud of inky blackness for two weeks. By now, frankly, the entire city should be panicing, or leaving for places where the sun shines, and all the grass should be dying.

Basically the city has been experience British weather no? -
As the door opens a horrific wailing fills the room, the video feed crackles from heat. The view of the orphans in engulfed in flame as their screams and cries raise to a vast cacophony and then fall silent.
In the center of the next room is a pile of money, four million dollars in assorted bills. Quite the impressive heap, as the video feed clears the smoldering remains of the children can be seen on every flat surface, apart from the dull crackling of flames like a fireplace at night, everything is silent. -
Inside the warehouse....
The corridor flickers around Sanguine Petal, a snow storm of static and then pictures. Full colour video feed of the captured orphans, their sniveling and piteous cries fill the corridor at the end of the corridor another heavy blast door makes a heavy sound.
Ka-thunk
The cheery voice of a little girl pipes up.
Congratulations you've beaten Paragon to the prize. Go through the door, your money is on the other side.... and do enjoy the show -
((OOC: Sorry for delay RL stuff.))
As Next Dimension lands on the roof top, the next orb rolls out from behind an air vent, floating into the air it writes the next message as a digitized voice reads.
This orb is facing having its skull smashed in or its fire put out.
High above Grandville the final red side orb floats, as Sanguine Petal approaches it writes the co-ordinates for a small port town, located half way between Paragon City and the Rogue Islands.
The ware house.....
The squat building lies before you. Made of solid brick it looks like it could easily take a bomb, the only entrance appears to be a solid blast door, scanners line the outside of the door. A welcome mat lies in front of the door, several balloons bearing the words "Congratulations" have been tethered to the mat. -
There is a crackling noise as the next orb appears in front of Next Dimension it rotates in front of him writing the next clue in the air as a voice reads
This orb totally just missed out on getting some custom made pants! -
As Sanguine Petal approaches the golden giza the next orb activates, as it spins and sky writes a digitized voice reads out
This orb thinks it has proof of Recluse having over compensation issues.
Meanwhile in Paragon at the statue of Talos as Next Dimension appears a spinning orb descends it writes in the air above, it as digitized voice reads the words floating in the air.
This orb loves Cagney films! -
As Sanguine Petal makes her way through the stinking cesspit a silver orb rises from the foul smelling liquid, scum and things far worse slip of it's smooth surface. Again the digitized voice speaks as it writes the clue in the air above it....
This orb thinks it's in Egypt, from the view alone. the lack of camels might tip it off. -
There isn't an orb at that location, only the normal amount of degenerates and Arachnos created freaks.
-
Hidden amongst the boxes at the 'Gold Brick' factory, the orb floats up at Sanguine Petals approach. Again it writes the next clue in the air, as in a digitized voice it says....
The smell around this orb might make it sick, if it had a nose that is. -
Among a pile of cannonballs next to a powder keg, the orb is found it activates as Sanguine Petal approaches. A hologram writing the clue above it, even as a digitized voice speaks...
This orb may end up with diabetes!
((OOC: Remember each is at the location of an exploration badge, the clues lead to the location, not the badge name it self. It's just easier to use the badge names when you search, hence location=Powder Keg Badge or Fort Hades being acceptable. any way red side in the lead pull ahead.
Edit OOC: Also I'd assume that word would of gotten round, News shows repeating the clues <Well the blue side clue> and various low life info dealers putting word around about the prize some hours after the initial showing)) -
OOC: okay how this will work. Two sets of five clues, one for villain side, one for hero side. Each lead to the location of an in game badge, start your post with something like At location <Badge Name> if it's correct, the next clue will be revealed to you. Side to get all five locations and reach their goal first, wins
A children's morning TV show, think CBBC or Saturday morning shows, transmitted to both the Rogue Islands and Paragon city....
Wake up everybody! It's time for the Power Hour and here's your host Peter Crunch!
G...g....good morning everybody, and w...we h...have a show for you today the young presenter the show had opened with delivered his lines stuttering, his face pale despite the fake tan, his eyes darting to something off camera
And n...now with today's line up it's To..
The cracking bark of a high calibre pistol, the presenters head broke apart bloods and brain matter becoming a mist as he collapses, a young girl walks on to the screen blowing at the smoking barrel of a magnum. Cold blue eyes look directly into the camera, she smiles and gives a little toss of long blond hair.
Now that all the kiddies are traumatized lets begin. she grins moving closer to the camera, till her face is all that can be seen.
Now now now, sit back down. she addresses the viewers This show is pre-recorded, slapping your tights on and rushing down here won't do you any good, I'm already long gone!
So what were going to do is play a game
The camera shifts as she spins it to point at the audience, it's a picture of carnage, men, women and children lying crumbled like grisly abandoned toys, the camera stops on a bunch of children, weeping and huddling together.
Now I know all you cape wearing do gooding [censored] won't want to play with me so there is your prize the girls voice continues from off screen A fresh batch of orphans
The camera is turned to face her again, she steps back walking off screen for a moment returning with a silver orb like device.
I've hidden ten of these five around Paragon, five around the Rogue Islands tossing the orb aside she stoops and lifts up the presenters corpse, moving the remains of his jaw like puppet
But wait Tomb why would the people of the Rogue Islands want to play? her flesh puppet says, as she badly performs an act of macabre puppetry
Good point peter and the answer is! Four Million Dollars! the girl declares letting the corpse drop back to the floor.
The game is simple, Solve clue, find orb solve that clue and find the next. The last one will lead you to the prize! she explains before raising a finger
But!
Both prizes can not be claimed. If the capes and do gooders get their prize the money goes up in smoke. If some one claims the money then well... the orphans get to meet their parents again.
She picks up a large piece of cardboard, it's split length wise with two different colours, blue at the top and red below a clue is written on each part.
Clue One.
Paragon.
The orb is in the care of the horniest guy in the city.
Rogue Islands.
The orb is being guarded by the soldiers closest to hell.
The card gets tossed aside, the girl pirouettes and shoots the camera, the screen goes snowy and cuts off.
