Video footage shown on various news networks around the world, available uncensored on the internet and some of the more raunchy current event shows.
It starts with seemingly normal footage of a charity costume contest held under the statue of Atlas in Atlas Park; the announcer is welcoming people and announcing that a few familiar faces are here today. Everything seems perfectly normal, until a bluish white spear of light descends from the sky, it strikes the floor in front of the statue a wave of energy pulsing out from the impact point.
Things get a little weird at that point, the statue vanishes as does the concrete it was built upon, and so does the clothing of every super hero, heroine and citizen attending the contest. Mostly this footage has been censored out with black bars to prevent offense, though in some places its bar free. The is some schadenfreude to be had at the sight of super heroes and heroines trying to work out what needs protecting most, their secret identities or their private parts.
The news report goes on to say that two minutes later all the clothing and the statue became visible again. There would be media coverage of the half dozen incidents that followed, starting with the Edison Museum. -

The slight pause in momentum also served to dip his front bumper for a moment...sending him, Mirel and passenger Awesometastic Girl beneath the mostly still waters of the port.
"Woh..."
"Wh...wh.... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!" Awesometastic Girl screamed, she had once seen some one take a 'car journey to visit Davey Jones', it hadn't gone well and now the talking car bot seemed intent on suicide... and taking AG along for the trip! -
Have they got new management in or something?
Maybe it's all being run by one slightly confused work experience boy or something?
Paragon Studios have been a bleeding shambles since I20 launched! -
Well this is just Super ******** 64! right here.
-
Wow, some at Paragon Studio sure does like shafting Europeans. Why not hot fix at the regular mid day EU time downtime, and not slap bang in the middle of prime time on a Friday?

Quote:I hate to repeat myself again but it seems my point is just not getting across. Once more, I have a total of 18 level 50's that I wish to take through the Trials. 5 of them are brutes, 3 are stalkers and 2 are VEATs and each of them have between 6-8 toggles. Even my 3 Doms have at least 4-5 toggles. By my estimation, at the current rate of iexp progression, I would have to run the trials a combined 450-500 times to get all of their 4 slots unlocked and slotted with Tier 3 rares. I could conceivably use convert *some* threads into iexp though I can't imagine doing that too often due to prohibitive inf concerns. Yeah, it's really reasonable to ask me to play toggle-a-power 450-500 times as if I have nothing better to do.
..... as if I have nothing better to do
..... as if I have nothing better to do
...... as if I have nothing better to do
You're playing an MMO chum, you don't have anything better to do. -
Groaning softly, Awesometastic Girl battled with the great daemon known as 'car sickness'.
"Any chance we are going to go through a tunnel, one where you can stop and I can totally bale?" she asks the carbot. -
Uncommon reward table, might be because I kept spamming heal + buff aruas.
Second run- Exact same level of participation, common reward. -
Wow the OP sure is butthurt.
Why they so mad? -
Quote:Where is the line drawn?
I should limit that aspect because some few people may have lag?
If I am allowed to use those powers, due to the reasons outlined, who else is? Who isn't? Why?
Lore wise you wouldn't be all dangerously electrical in Pocket D.
Lore wise it has a suppression field, it just doesn't have one in game play. -
Quote:I find this humorous. "I want to RP... as long as there are no outside influences to affect my RP, which could enable me to react to the situation in an in-character sort of way. I want a very tightly controlled environment in which to RP. I'd like everyone to stand in a designated space, recite lines that I have specifically laid out, and not bring any random elements into this little space I have designated that might disrupt my elaborately staged reality."
Isn't RP, um, playing a role? Don't people react to the circumstances in which they find themselves?
So what you're looking for is the absence of any RP; instead, you'd like a set piece performance, which others are free to watch. Kudos! I'll be over here, not participating in that in any way.
I personally dislike 'bubble' RP, but there is a difference between not interacting with people who aren't in you cliche and acknowledging a griefer IC, or that the zone is going to cack and lagging out IC'ly.
React IC to IC things, the OOC stuff isn't there for your character. -
Quote:That's possible. I'm looking at this from the perspective of the excuses I've seen given over the years by players that refuse to turn off their toggles in places where active toggles are unnecessary and they know it causes serious lag issues for other players.
That's why I say **** 'em and have power suppression on in D's.
So what if it stops Demonguy Hugezor /e demonstrating his might skills by making the sky rain flaming blood <Click Rain of fire>, it'll save the zone being a lag fiesta. -
Not entirely sarcastic, you should check, just because you were on Team 2 who are supposed to cover the north during the prisoner escape stage, before the cut scene of boobalicousness, doesn't mean you will be post cut scene, if some one forgot to lock the teams, you might be on Team 1 in the south or Team 3 covering exits.
After all it's an extra merit/4 shards if you ace that bit. -
Quote:Not sure if you're being sarcastic but if not I'll point out that a person doesn't need his toggles on to do all of that.
Think you're grabbing the wrong end of the stick.
While Captain Awesome is explaining the plan, Fancy Dan (the fancy toggle man) can retoggle, without it taking 'too long'. -
Is it stilled cacked American guys?
I'm EU myself but I'm avoiding logging due to the inevitable 'shutdown all the servers to fix freedom' event looming. -
Quote:Ehhhh, I'd rather have the leader tell the trial exactly what is going on, as some folks still have never done these trials.
You missed where I was replying to a post that griefers would complain it takes too long to re toggle?
And the whole, if your league isn't having things explained to them, then you're doing it wrong thing?
And that even the most trollalicous troll from under the biggest bridge ever, could retoggle during the double checking that people get what they are about to do?
Pretty sure the first stage of each of the Trials isn't timed after all. -
Quote:The only problem would be to the griefers that enjoy disrupting things. They'll argue that it takes too much time to activate their powers once they leave the "D".
If you aren't having a two or three minute set up period where the 'leader' of the trial tells each team what they are doing, and people check what team they are actually in, then you are 'Doing it wrong!' -
Quote:So it's actually about the toggles and not the non-rpers in an rp zone.
Simply have suppresson on SOME toggles. Problem solved. Now everyone can be in the zone doing whatever the hell they like.
That's what was posted in the first post. Some one complaining about not arranging trials in Pocket D because it was lagging the place up.
If every Tom, Dick and Sally isn't firing off their powers to fight the boredom of waiting for their league to fill, there wouldn't be any problem would there? -
Quote:Or you can simply put people on /ignore and keep doing what you're doing.
NO ONE owns ANY zone in COH. Period.
Unfortunately /ignore doesn't remove the impact of people running their toggles, I mean if a zone begins to lag to **** /ignore isn't going to do jack. -

Quote:It's no more disappointing than someone telling players that his or her RPing is more important than what they are doing and he or she has the right to spoil their fun however he or she likes.
Pocket D is for eveyone to use responsibly.
I'd argue that leaving your toggles running constantly because it'll save you five seconds in a TF, despite being asked nicely to not do so isn't using it responsibly.
That said I've seen RPers be just as much on the jerk side of the fence when it comes to people using NPC's badge locations and so on. -
Yeah I mean Virtue is the unofficial US RP server and Union the unofficial one in the EU. But without Paragon outright saying these servers and areas are for RP, or have a focus on RP, there is nothing that can be done, other than /ignore and hope that the power spam doesn't give you a headache. -

I want one, still 30% to go on the slot though D:
